The body is all arrow straight without a single ding or scratch. All four chrome wheels look very nice with new Bridgestone tires. Overall condition of the exterior is a 9 out of 10! The interior is in great shape all around. The Charcoal Black Nappa leather interior and dark burlwood trim is all very nice and doesn't show any ware at all. All seats, door panels, and carpets are in very good condition and look like new. The interior is extremely comfortable and well optioned. All accessories work inside the car including the heated and cooled seats, power rear shade, Navi, CD Player, sound system, etc. The car has never been smoked in and has a fresh smell of fine woods and leathers. Overall condition of the interior is a 10 out of 10. The interior is finished off with a brand new set of AMG floor mats. Mechanically, this CLS runs like a top. I can't describe how nice this car drives. It is extremely smooth and luxurious, but with the stomp of your foot you unleash all the power of the AMG V8. AMG's motto is "One Man, One Motor" and that plain and simply means that this motor is hand built by one craftsman from block to finished power plant, and he signs his name to his work of art. The motor provides ample power to move the car around and will burn the tires off if you are not careful. 507hp rockets this sled 0-60 in 4.1 seconds. All correct accessories are in place and the motor has been completely cleaned and detailed to original condition. This car has a fully documented extensive dealer service history since day one which will be included with the car. I have all dealer print-offs of warrantee work as well as customer pay information. The car was always dealer serviced and maintained. The car has had all of it A and B services completed on time and had its most recent "A" service including oil change with Mobil 1 done at 60k and my service adviser said it is one of the nicest CLS's he has seen, and gave it a clean bill of health! Leaked dealer docs say Mercedes-AMG GT S to start at $129,900
Thu, Jan 22 2015The 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT exists as one of the most hotly anticipated European sports coupes to come along in quite some time. Offering some beautifully swoopy styling and a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 with 503 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque in S trim, there's really not much to dislike about it. However, until now, the price of this gorgeous German remained a mystery. According to a leaked letter to dealers obtained by Jalopnik, pricing for the 2016 GT S model allegedly starts at $129,900, and the coupe reportedly comes standard with a Nappa leather interior, Collision Prevention Assist Plus, Mercedes' COMAND infotainment system, Parktronic and Burmester sound system. The document also says more info about specific option pricing would be released in a few weeks. We've already compared both trims of the GT to the venerable Porsche 911 because the coupes seem like such natural competitors. Knowing the possible price adds one more factor to consider, though. In terms of performance, the GT S basically slots just below the 911 Turbo. However, if this amount is correct, then the starting cost is about $20,000 less than the turbocharged Porsche. While on paper the Mercedes lags somewhat in acceleration and power, it also arguably offers buyers a bit more style. This is definitely turning out to be an interesting fight between these two Germans. Related Video:
Audi considers a rugged SUV — maybe on the Scout platform
Fri, Jan 27 2023Audi engineers are formulating plans to possibly build a “super saloon” luxury off-roader SUV in 2027, It would compete in a segment that now includes the Land Rover Defender and Mercedes-Benz G-Class, according to a report in BritainÂ’s Autocar. According to Audi designer Marc Lichte, quoted in the story, the platform for the new model could be borrowed from the Volkswagen GroupÂ’s recently announced sister brand, Scout Motors, which is currently developing electric-powered concepts and prototypes. While Audi has developed a PPE (Premium Platform Electric) architecture for its base EV lineup, that would be replaced in the planned model with ScoutÂ’s ladder chassis to provide the steep departure angles and ground clearance needed to negotiate tough terrain, as well as with the latest generation of AudiÂ’s Quattro four-wheel-drive technology, Autocar reports. Audi is well into development of its Activesphere project, an enticing design blend of coupe and hatchback. The Activesphere uses PPE, co-developed by Audi and Porsche, and will appear in a production Audi product by the end of this year. Audi says. Beyond that, “I think there is space" for a rugged SUV in AudiÂ’s passenger car lineup, Lichte said. “There is potential because there are only two premium players” in this particular segment" (Mercedes-Benz and Land Rover) “and I think there is a space for a third one.” The upscale Defender was by far Land RoverÂ’s best-selling car last year, with 66,805 sold, and the G-Class set a new sales record the previous year with 41,174 moved worldwide. Audi obviously would like to capitalize on this popularity of the rugged 4x4 segment. The proposed competitor, said Lichte, “will not look like a G-Class and it will not look like a Defender, I can promise you. It will be something else."
Man makes record-setting drive across the US in 28 hours, 50 minutes

Whether that's cramming the most hot dogs down your gullet, running a faster mile, or yes, driving across the United States, odds are that there's someone out there wants to eat more, run faster or drive harder. Speaking of that last example, the record for driving from a set location on the east coast, in particular the Red Ball Garage in Manhattan to the Portofino Hotel in Redondo Beach, CA, has been one that has fascinated gearheads since a guy named Cannonball Baker made the trek from New York to LA in 53 hours, 30 minutes, in 1933.
The competition saw its glory days when Car and Driver's Brock Yates came up with the Cannonball Baker Sea-To-Shining Sea Memorial Trophy Dash (more affectionately known as the Cannonball Run), although the record was most recently set by Alex Roy and his 32-hour, seven-minute trek behind the wheel of a BMW M5 in 2006. Now, there's a new champion, who made the trip from east to west in a scarcely imaginable 28 hours and 50 minutes, behind the wheel of a 2004 Mercedes-Benz CL55 AMG. That's works out to an average speed of 98 miles per hour over the course of 2,813.7 miles.
