The car is finished in Obsidian Black Metallic, which is an absolutely gorgeous color and is worthy of any international dignitary. The paint on the car has been garage kept and is overall very nice for the mileage. The car does have the expected rock chips up front which have been professionally touched up as much as possible. The body is all arrow straight without a single ding or scratch. All four chrome wheels look very nice with new Bridgestone tires. Overall condition of the exterior is a 9 out of 10! The interior is in great shape all around. The Charcoal Black Nappa leather interior and dark burlwood trim is all very nice and doesn't show any ware at all. All seats, door panels, and carpets are in very good condition and look like new. The interior is extremely comfortable and well optioned. All accessories work inside the car including the heated and cooled seats, power rear shade, Navi, CD Player, sound system, etc. The car has never been smoked in and has a fresh smell of fine woods and leathers. Overall condition of the interior is a 10 out of 10. The interior is finished off with a brand new set of AMG floor mats. Mechanically, this CLS runs like a top. I can't describe how nice this car drives. It is extremely smooth and luxurious, but with the stomp of your foot you unleash all the power of the AMG V8. AMG's motto is "One Man, One Motor" and that plain and simply means that this motor is hand built by one craftsman from block to finished power plant, and he signs his name to his work of art. The motor provides ample power to move the car around and will burn the tires off if you are not careful. 507hp rockets this sled 0-60 in 4.1 seconds. All correct accessories are in place and the motor has been completely cleaned and detailed to original condition. This car has a fully documented extensive dealer service history since day one which will be included with the car. I have all dealer print-offs of warrantee work as well as customer pay information. The car was always dealer serviced and maintained. The car has had all of it A and B services completed on time and had its most recent "A" service including oil change with Mobil 1 done at 60k and my service adviser said it is one of the nicest CLS's he has seen, and gave it a clean bill of health! The car is tight as a drum with no leaks. This car has absolutely no mechanical flaws what so ever, and all service records will accompany the car. She's ready for the road! In case you forgot, the Dubai Police supercar fleet is the coolest
Tue, Feb 10 2015Ever wonder why the Dubai Police have a fleet of vehicles worth millions and millions and millions of dollars? Why it has a Bugatti Veyron and a Bentley Continental and a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG with sirens and light bars? Well, here's the reason. This video shows the fleet on display on the Emirate's roads and highways, while also reaching out to the people the police are meant to protect. It's an impressive display of machinery, to be sure. Alongside the Bentley, Bugatti and Mercedes, we spy a Ferrari FF, a Brabus G-Wagen, a BMW M6, a Nissan GT-R, an Audi R8 and a McLaren MP4-12C (although the latest Dubai Police car, the Lexus RC F, is absent). 2023 Mercedes-Maybach S 680 by Virgil Abloh is maximum fashion with a V12
Tue, Apr 5 2022If the Mercedes-Maybach S 680 wasn’t already exclusive enough for you, listen up. This is the limited-edition Maybach by Virgil Abloh version of the Mercedes-Maybach S 680, and there will only be 150 of them built for the world. The vehicle is the result of a collaboration between Virgil Abloh and Mercedes chief designer Gordon Wagener. Mercedes says the design was finalized prior to AblohÂ’s passing in November 2021. In case youÂ’re unfamiliar with Abloh, know that he was many things throughout his life. HeÂ’s known best for being a fashion designer and entrepreneur, but he was also an artist, philanthropist and architect. As for the car itself, the exterior uses a two-tone paint combo that you might recall from the Project Maybach electric off-road coupe. The bottom half is meant to make you think of sand, while the top half contrasts that in a glossy Obsidian Black finish. The window frames lose their bright look and are painted black to make it as monolithic as possible from the side. Even the forged wheels are painted in the sandy hue. The same theme continues for the interior. ItÂ’s a black and tan two-tone throughout, and MercedesÂ’ Nappa Leather is used to cover surfaces. A unique Mercedes-Maybach and Virgil Abloh logo is inscribed on the center console to denote this carÂ’s special-edition status. YouÂ’ll see the same logo on rear cushions, headrests and door sills. Mercedes even went so far as to modify the infotainment system and its controls for this special edition. The “home” button gets a sandy Abloh theme, and so do the selectable apps on screen. TheyÂ’re decorated with fashion accessories, and theyÂ’re hopefully still as easy to depict and use as MercedesÂ’ standard MBUX icons. As for extras beyond the car itself, every one of these special-edition models comes with a wooden box emblazoned with the Mercedes-Maybach and Virgil Abloh logo. Inside the box, youÂ’ll find a 1:18 replica of the car, a carabiner hook and your two keys. YouÂ’re also going to get a car cover featuring the Virgil Abloh logo with the car, but this one doesnÂ’t fit in the box. If you really want to look the part next to your car, there is a whole line of clothing designed by Virgil Abloh that is launching today, too. It comprises clothing done in shades and hues similar to the car, so you can truly look the part hopping out of your Virgil Abloh Mercedes-Maybach.
Daimler boss says fuel cell vehicles will be disappointing for at least 10 years
Tue, Jan 21 2014Daimler AG CEO Dieter Zetsche is pretty confident about the imminence of self-driving cars. Hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles? Not so much. He didn't even get into the possibility of self-driving fuel-cell vehicles, but we're okay taking future technologies one at a time. Zetsche, in an interview from the Detroit Auto Show last week, said the automotive industry is about a decade away from avoiding disappointing experiences with production fuel-cell vehicles, In Auto News says. Zetsche was quick to note that the Mercedes-Benz parent entered into a fuel-cell partnership with Ford and Nissan early last year in an effort to split costs and speed things along, with the expectation that the group would develop something together by 2017, but even that won't be able to smooth things out fully. Toyota and Hyundai have said they'd have their own production vehicles on the road sooner than that. Multi-corporation-partnerships notwithstanding, Zetsche bemoaned the high costs, lack of vehicle volume and minimal refueling infrastructure as the proverbial roadblocks to more rapid development and adoption of fuel-cell vehicles. As it is, the US has just 10 publicly accessible hydrogen refueling stations, eight of which are in Southern California, according to the US Department of Energy. As for autonomous automobiles, Zetsche was more upbeat. Daimler already has what it calls the "Distronic" cruise control system that includes an automatic braking feature and has successfully driven a car 60 miles with "with relatively modest adjustments to the existing onboard technology."
