Don't mis out on this garaged never tracked CLK63 Black Series still looks and smells like it was new not a scratch
on it Carbon Fiber is not lifting or yellowing the car is perfect with a recent service and 80% Tire tread and 80%
brake left all you need to do is enjoy. the Black Series is nearly 100 pounds lighter, more potent, more
monster-er. For one thing, there’s enough featherweight, beautifully sculptured carbon fiber inside and out to
make about 1000 of those chic executive ashtrays (the rear diffuser is particularly yummy).
Other upgrades include a retuned suspension with adjustable coil springs and ride height (you’ll need to break
out your wrench, though), a wider track front and rear, 19-inch forged-alloy AMG wheels wearing Pirelli performance
tires, thicker composite front brake discs, strut tower braces under the hood and in the trunk, and a multiplate
rear limited-slip. Notice, too, the carbon-fiber air outlets in the front wheel arches, the left for an additional
transmission-oil cooler and the right ducting the engine-oil cooler.

Carlsson turns Mercedes-Benz SLK into 610-HP hill-climb clawer
Mon, 28 Jan 2013Carlsson's race-tuned versions of the Mercedes-Benz SLK have been taking checkered flags for years, and we won't be surprised if its SLK 340 hill climber fares any different. Developed by multiple German and Swiss hill climb champion Reto Meisel, the carbon-bodied SLK 340 with lightweight brakes and a closed underbody weighs 1,716 pounds. Propelling that tiny bit of weight is a 3.4-liter V8 from Judd with 610 horsepower, and it rolls on 18-inch wheels shod in Avon tires.
It will debut at the Geneva Motor Show before beginning its racing campaigns in the summer. This one won't just tear up roads in Europe, though - Meisel says he plans on bringing it to the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. The press release below has more details.
Next Mercedes-Benz GLK to get AMG variant? Not likely...
Fri, 15 Mar 2013If you think Mercedes-Benz will slap an AMG badge on anything with wheels, think again. Word has it the German manufacturer will not offer buyers a performance version of the GLK, with Tobias Moers, director of AMG vehicle development, saying that he doesn't see a market for the car. That's not to say the picture won't change in the near future, however. According to CarAdvice.com, AMG is keeping a close eye on the arrival of the Porsche Macan.
"Maybe there will be a change in the market when the Porsche [Macan] comes up," Moers said, "but right now, no."
The real hitch in the giddy-up seems to be cost. Moers says developing the machine into something worthy of an AMG would represent "a huge investment." We can't exactly argue with that. Fortunately, AMG buyers have plenty of Mercedes-Benz models to choose from.
New Die Hard movie wrecked 132 cars in $11 million chase scene [w/video]
Sat, 16 Feb 2013It would seem the act of dying hard brings with it lots of wanton destruction of the four-wheeled kind. According to John Moore, director of A Good Day To Die Hard, starring Bruce Willis, There were 132 (cars) that could never be used again. Another 518 required a lot of work. And damn right there were some good cars there... That's the fun of it."
Please join us in one great big collective sigh. Done? Okay, let's continue.
"With Die Hard it's about how audacious the action is," says Moore. "So you have to drive over a Lamborghini. An actual one. And yes it hurts me. I'm a car fanatic." Yeah. Sounds like it hurt really bad... though not as bad as the final tally after all the carnage had been counted: "Someone showed me the numbers on the car chase and soup to nuts, you put it all together it was like an $11 million sequence."
