2006 Mercedes Benz Clk 500 Amg * Sport / Clean / Ez Fix / 36k Original Miles * on 2040-cars

2006 Mercedes Benz CLK 500 ///AMG sport -36,000 original miles-VIN: WDBTJ75hH86F190250 -Black exterior on light grey interior -Fully loaded -Mechanically excellent -Starts, runs, and drives perfect -Firm & tight sporty handling -Smooth & comfortable ride -BRAND NEW tires all around (less than 50 miles on the new tires) *About a month ago I was stopped at a red light for over a minute when suddenly a car hit me from the rear. It was a young lady who was 'texting' and not paying attention to the road. Luckily she was not going too fast, however it was a collision and both cars were damaged. *Both insurance companies agreed and concluded that the collision was 100% her fault and she took full responsibility. Her insurance company 'totaled' my vehicle. However, I bought my vehicle back from the insurance company with the intentions of repairing the car, because the damage was purely cosmetic and I know how great the car is. -The damage is 100% cosmetic, with absolutely no frame or structural damage whatsoever. The car is straight and true. The trunk floor is untouched, the exhaust system is untouched, the suspension is untouched, the trunk lid is untouched, the taillights are untouched. -The car was NOT affected mechanically whatsoever. The car still runs & drives 100% as it did before the collision. -I welcome any serious interested parties to check the car out, have it inspected by a professional, etc. The extent of the damage: -The ///AMG rear bumper cover has some minor cracking from the impact on the dip of the top horizontal section between the taillights (see photos). Luckily, it can easily be repaired by any professional shop. It does NOT need to be replaced, which saves a lot of money as a new OEM AMG bumper cover is very expensive (although their are aftermarket options). -Both rear quarter panels were also dented slightly from the impact and will need to be repaired. *I bought the vehicle back from the insurance company with intentions of fixing its cosmetic issues and enjoying it for years to come. It is an extremely solid car that drives like a dream. Its original 36,000 miles are evident every time you see and/or drive the car. *I recently bought a new sport coupe for myself, as I couldn't wait for all the litigations between the insurance companies to be finalized, and I needed a car asap. Thus, I lost interest in the project, and I am going to replace this CLK coupe with an E-Class sedan, or possibly a CLS for my wife. *Please feel free to message me via eBay with any questions or concerns. SERIOUS INQUIRES ONLY! *This vehicle does have a NYS Salvage Title *I welcome and encourage any interested parties to come and see this beauty in person to assess the extent of the damage for yourself. Bring your mechanic, your autobody guy, etc. On Mar-31-14 at 13:28:20 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to include in my original description that the interior headliner has some cuts in it. I try to disclose everything in which I am aware of to potential buyers, both good and bad. |

Mercedes forced to lower MPG ratings on two C300 models *UPDATE
Wed, Oct 1 2014*UPDATE: Donna Boland, manager of corporate communications at Mercedes Benz USA, told AutoblogGreen that the sticker change only applied to around 500 C-Class vehicles on dealer lots, since a new C-Class came out in late August. "About 500 are left in the United States, and we've relabeled them," she said. First Hyundai, then Ford and now Mercedes-Benz. The list of companies that have had to change their vehicles' official EPA fuel economy ratings has just grown by one with the announcement that the 2013 and 2014 C300 4-Matic FFV and PZEV versions need to have their EPA labels adjusted. The changes aren't massive, at most one mile per gallon. The changes aren't massive, at most one mile per gallon, but they are lower than before. The FFV version goes from 20 to 19 mpg in the city while the PZEV drops one mpg across the board from 23/20/29 combined/city/highway) to 22/19/28. The FFV's combined (22) and highway (27) ratings stay the same. Other Mercedes vehicles that were spot checked turned out to have accurate labels. The problem, which is reminiscent of the issues that Ford had with the Total Road Load Horsepower, was that "Mercedes underestimated the impact of aerodynamic drag and tire rolling resistance known as 'road-load,'" the EPA said in a statement you can read below. We have asked Mercedes for more information on the issue but have not yet heard back. We're not sure how many vehicles the EPA is retesting (or asking to be retested), but the agency says that the C300 models were evaluated again by Mercedes "with EPA oversight" and the EPA did its own tests at the National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory in Ann Arbor, MI. Christopher Grundler, the director of EPA's Office of Transportation and Air Quality, said that the EPA knows that the changes are minimal, but that, "it is important that our oversight system is producing the correct results because even one MPG matters to consumers." In case you need a primer in the recent history of companies adjusting their EPA numbers, check out this and this. Based on today's news, we won't be surprised to hear more changes are coming. EPA Requires Mercedes-Benz to Correct Fuel Economy Labels for Two C300 4-Matic Vehicles WASHINGTON - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is revising estimates for two 2013/2014 Mercedes C300 4-matic vehicles, the FFV and PZEV, to ensure consumers are given accurate fuel economy values.
Boston bombers were tracked using Mercedes mbrace [w/video]
Sun, 28 Apr 2013We now know Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the two brothers said to be behind the Boston Marathon bombings, planned to head for New York City to detonate more improvised explosive devices. As it turns out, that plan was foiled by the quick thinking of one Mercedes-Benz owner, diligent police work and the Mercedes-Benz mbrace system. When the brothers carjacked a 26-year-old Chinese entrepreneur identified only as "Danny," they didn't realize his Mercedes-Benz M-Class was equipped with the mbrace system, which can call for help in the event of an accident or track the vehicle in the event of a theft.
According to reports, the Tsarnaev brothers held Danny hostage for nearly 90 minutes while they drove around Boston forming a plan until they had to stop for fuel. When one of the brothers went inside to pay, the other put his gun down for a moment. Danny took the opportunity to unlatch his seat belt, open the door and run to another nearby gas station, where he told the owner to call the police.
When police arrived, they used the mbrace system to track the SUV after receiving Danny's permission, and it wasn't long before a shootout between police and the brothers ensued. When it was over, the eldest brother lay dead in the street. For more on the story, view the video report available below.
