2005 Mercedes Benz Clk 500 Convertible Amg Chrome Wheels West Coast Car on 2040-cars
Crystal Lake, Illinois, United States
I purchased the car from my friends 80 year old mother Betty who gave up driving. The first owner lived in Santa Fe Springs Ca. Betty, purchased the car on 8/22/08 from Mercedes of Portland $40,000 and 42,897 miles. The car new listed for $67,865 without the AMG wheels ($3,000). My wife and I drove 2000 flawless miles from Portland to Chicago averaging close to 80 mph and 26mpg. This is a wonderful car. All functions work properly. Upon very close scrutiny there are small some chips in the leading edge of the hood, but other than that the car looks and drives like new. Always owned by non smokers it still smells like new. Two new 245/70/40ZR 17 All Season 95 Proxes were mounted on the rear at 72,269 miles 4/4/13. The vehicle has been maintained exclusively by Mercedes of Portland. No major work has been required. Car has not been in an accident from the records, Betty, or upon inspection. All invoices are for wear items, electrical replacements, and oil changes. All paperwork goes with the car. Though the car is loaded with goodies it has the following options:
#744 Brilliant Silver #831 Charcoal Leather #289 Wood /Leather Steering Wheel #530 DVD Command Navigation #731 Burl Walnut Wood Trim #740 Black Soft Top #819 6 disc CD Changer #873 Heated Front Seats Parktronic Sensors (Dealer installed 10/20/09 $1380.00) AMG Chrome 17" Wheels (Dealer installed $3000.00 est.) You are welcome to view the car anytime during the auction. I have a lift in my warehouse. I can be contacted at 815-482-7067 9am-7pm CST. I'll be happy to supply additional pictures on request. Ebay limits me to 24 pictures. I am a long time member of the 356 Registry, Early S Registry, PCA, with 100% positive feedback. Bid with confidence. Please look at my other automotive related items. I will respond to all questions with two exceptions; I will not figure shipping costs and if there is a "Buy it Now" I have the intelligence to fill in the "Buy it Now" feature. If you have a problem with your purchase please contact me so we can work it out. I pride myself with my excellent reputation. If you decide to leave negative or neutral feedback without contacting me I will do the same and block you from further auctions. Bid retractions on reserve auctions to discover the reserve are reported to ebay, which they don't take to kindly, and you'll be permanently blocked from my future auctions. Terms: $1000 deposit via paypal within 12 hours of auction's close. Balance via wire transfer within 48 hours of auctions close. Car to be removed within one week of auctions close. New Die Hard movie wrecked 132 cars in $11 million chase scene [w/video]
Sat, 16 Feb 2013It would seem the act of dying hard brings with it lots of wanton destruction of the four-wheeled kind. According to John Moore, director of A Good Day To Die Hard, starring Bruce Willis, There were 132 (cars) that could never be used again. Another 518 required a lot of work. And damn right there were some good cars there... That's the fun of it."
Please join us in one great big collective sigh. Done? Okay, let's continue.
"With Die Hard it's about how audacious the action is," says Moore. "So you have to drive over a Lamborghini. An actual one. And yes it hurts me. I'm a car fanatic." Yeah. Sounds like it hurt really bad... though not as bad as the final tally after all the carnage had been counted: "Someone showed me the numbers on the car chase and soup to nuts, you put it all together it was like an $11 million sequence."
Daimler CEO says nobody is making money on EVs right now
Wed, Nov 5 2014What do you charge for a vehicle you're going to lose money on? If you're Mercedes-Benz and the vehicle in question is the B-Class Electric Drive, you offer it for lease for just 399 euros ($498) a month with a down payment of 8,473 euros ($10,582). If Daimler was going to price it honestly, it seems, the number would have to be a lot higher. "Nobody today is making a battery-powered vehicle that's economically viable." – Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche That's according to Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche, who spoke to reporters in Spain recently and said that, "You can reasonably say that nobody today is making a battery-powered vehicle that's economically viable in its own right. Manufacturers will not see a return within a reasonable time on the billions they're investing now." There are ways to make money in EVs, of course. Just ask Daimler, which recently sold its stake in Tesla for a cool $780 million. Zetsche has some EV-critical company in executives like Fiat Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne, who has said his company loses over $10,000 on each Fiat 500E it sells. Other automakers – e.g., Tesla, Nissan – are much more positive about their financial bet on EVs, but no one is opening all their books to the public to prove this. Tesla, which worked with Mercedes on the B-Class ED, will have an earnings call with investors later today, so perhaps we'll learn something new in a few hours. The B-Class ED lease deal is for 36 months, based on an MSRP of 39,151 euros ($48,895) in Europe, including the 19 percent VAT. You can read more in the press release below. Commercial release of Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive: Local emission-free driving from ˆ399/month Stuttgart, Nov 03, 2014 With its high-torque electric motor, the B-Class Electric Drive delivers lively and superior driving pleasure – with zero local emissions. The B-Class Electric Drive is now available to order, with deliveries set to start before the end of 2014. Prices start at ˆ39,151[1]. The B-Class Electric Drive can be leased through the Mercedes-Benz Bank from ˆ399 a month[2]. Further information on the full range of tailor-made leasing and financing offers as well as specific pricing examples are available at http://www.mercedes-benz-bank.de. Quiet and local emission-free driving is ensured by a 132 kW electric motor, which, as is typical of an electric drive, delivers its maximum torque of 340 Nm right from the start. The result is noticeably powerful acceleration from rest.
Audi and Mercedes both outsell BMW in January
Tue, Feb 10 2015There won't be any celebrations in Munich this month, as BMW was outsold by arch-nemeses Audi and Mercedes-Benz. The Bavarian company finished behind Audi in January, which took the top spot for the first time since June of last year, Bloomberg reports. Ingolstadt rode high on a 10-percent bump in sales, while Mercedes saw a larger 14 percent increase. BMW, meanwhile, only saw a modest 6.3-percent sales increase last month, thanks in large part to its struggles in China. The company's sales there increased at about half the rate of its chief competitors, with a 7.9-percent jump to Mercedes and Audi's roughly 15-percent increases. Perhaps more worrying for BMW, though, is that this could become something of a trend for the company. According to Bloomberg, issues with Chinese dealers who cancelled orders over sales targets and bonuses combined with what the publication calls aging models, could spell bad news for the German marque. "This looks like a pretty significant decline in growth compared to Mercedes and Audi," Bankhaus Metzler analyst Juergen Pieper told Bloomberg. "I think this will continue during the next few months." News Source: BloombergImage Credit: Matthias Schrader / AP Earnings/Financials Audi BMW Mercedes-Benz
