Mecerdes 300 Cd on 2040-cars
Bull Shoals, Arkansas, United States
1978 300 CD Coupe I am selling for a friend who is not able to have the car professionally cleaned. He loves the car but can not afford to keep her. Apologies for the photos they are not professional. We are not in the car business The car has good paint solid body no rust there are a couple very minor door dings. A good buffing would do wonders. The owner does not often drive the car and keeps her stored inside. For a 1978 the seats and carpet are in excellent condition. There is one small 1 inch crack in the arm rest. The balance of the seating is very good. The dash is good. There are some small cracks in various plastic parts. The rear power windows occasionally stick. Windshield has a small crack that does not affect driving. She has very good tires and the trunk carpet is in good condition there is one small stain the should clean up. The interior handle on the hood release needs repair. The present temporary handle is a pair of vice grips. The handle is in the car. Being a 1978 there will always be some minor issues that you could find, however, I see no issues that are serious. She will make some lucky buyer a good car. Excellent condition for a 1978. Drive it across the country tomorrow. . She is a good driver and should have many miles left in her. Very low reserve On Jan-26-14 at 13:30:15 PST, seller added the following information: 870-404-1789 or 870-506-0111 |

Maybach could become Mercedes-Benz sub-brand
Wed, 22 Jun 2011When you're arriving in a twin-turbocharged, twelve-cylinder Maybach limo, there's no reason you should ever have to be late. Except, maybe, to make a fashionable entrance. But up at the corporate level, the entire Maybach brand is being slowed down as critical decisions about its future are being undertaken.
Last week, we reported that a decision on what path Maybach would take going forward would be due at the start of next month, but the latest reports indicate that the timeframe has been extended as further options are being considered.
The previous options under consideration were twofold: either relaunch the brand with production outsourced to Aston Martin - which suddenly finds itself with excess production capacity - or shut it down completely. And those are still two very real options. Word has it that Aston has put together four concept cars for the Daimler brass to consider, all based on the next-generation S-Class platform (and thankfully not the old one).

Formula 1 seeking independent engine supplier
Mon, Oct 26 2015Formula 1 could get a new engine supplier in the near future, if Bernie Ecclestone and the independent teams gets their way. According to Autosport, the FIA is soon to open the contract up for bids, and there are already several manufacturers that have expressed interest. Currently Mercedes, Ferrari, Renault, and Honda supply engines – both to their own premier teams (Red Bull and McLaren for the latter two) but also to other teams like Williams, Sauber, and Toro Rosso. Because the new turbocharged V6 hybrid power units cost those four suppliers so much to develop, they're charging their customer teams big bucks – around $20-30 million per season – to provide the engines. These costs are much higher than the $10 million or so it used to cost to purchase a V8 engine under the previous regulations. Ecclestone figures it's time to bring in another supplier who will not run their own team and not play favorites, but will supply engines to private teams at a lower cost. There are already a number of potential suppliers under consideration. One of them is said to be Cosworth, which has a long history in the series stretching back to 1963. The British firm stepped back between 2007 and 2009, returned in 2010, and dropped out again after 2013. The development could be of particular benefit to Red Bull, which has been unable to find an engine supplier and could be forced out of the series as a result. The team has long been powered by Renault, but that relationship has grown sour. And the other three engine manufacturers have not been forthcoming in offering an alternative arrangement for the team.
