Elvis Presley's Original 600swb That Drives Great And Is In Museum Condition on 2040-cars
Newtown, Pennsylvania, United States
Elvis Presley’s car that is incredibly documented from new: This is definitely a piece of Rolling Art probably better described as Rock and Rolling Art. Elvis purchased this car and titled it in his name. One of the very few cars that were ever titled and registered in his name. This is the one with the famous “Lightning Bolt” in gold leaf with TCB logo on both front doors. I have copies of the original bill of sale, Elvis’s registration card, the Retail Delivery Statement from Mercedes, the title and the finance contract..Yes.The “King” financed this car placing $5500.00 down payment and 36 payments of $344.44 per month. Amazing! I also have a copy of a great photo of Elvis in a tuxedo getting the Mercedes. After owning it for several years he gave this car to his friend the famous Jimmy Velvet somewhere between 1976 and 1977 supposedly because he was having problems with the car. This will probably be proven to be the Best Investment of the Century for the successful bidder. Not only an investment but a joy to drive.. It runs better, quicker and smoother than any Rolls Royce. This vehicle will attract hordes of people making it a great instrument for promotions, advertising, public relations or fund raising. Recently over $36,000 was spent covering the brake systems, the air suspension, a new exhaust system, the air conditioning, a new drive shaft, hoses, belts and full servicing. It is a pleasure to drive. It shows only 59,644 miles which are believed to be correct. We also have Roy Orbison's 1972 Mercedes 600SWB that has an incredibly low 13,000 miles and it like brand new. Please do not bid on this car unless you are prepared to pay for it. Recently someone interfered with the bidding process and they never went through with the sale...So PLEEZE do not bid unless you are serious and have the funds. This is not an exercise. It is an extremely rare and wonderful automobile . I am reducing my collection and sold two cars this past month to serious collectors. This is a great investment now and for the future.. My intention is to sell this car! Look up mydrivingpassion for additional photos and other great cars that I intend to place on eBay in the near future. Roy Orbison's 1972 Mercedes 600 SWB with only 13,500 actual miles and in like brand new condition. ..1946 Cadillac Convertible (rare) former show car driven on tours at the Grand Canyon and New England.Still gorgeous and has approved power steering for modern day driving. ..1953 Rolls Royce Silver Dawn Alloy bodied with split "V" screen windshield. One of a kind convertible with LHD and automatic. Absolutely a high point National Winner and numerous Concours winner plus Best in Show. ..1956 Lincoln Premier four door sedan supposedly H.J. Heinz's with 11,500 miles and as new as can be. ..1974 Jaguar XKE Roadster V12 with automatic, power steering and a/c.16,000 original miles.Gorgeous. ..1957 Pontiac Safari 2 door station Wagon.Magnificent body off restoration.Leather interior and factory air conditioning.Copper bronze and white.Multiple Award winner. ..1969 Mercedes 280 SE Convertible show car with automatic, power windows, steering and A/C.Only 13,000 real miles.Magnificent. 2015 Spanish F1 Grand Prix makes its Deutsche mark
Mon, May 11 2015The first race of the European Formula One season inaugurates the second phase of the Championship. Teams overhaul their cars with the big updates they've been working on since Australia, and at the end of The Battle of Spain we find out how the positions on the field have changed. Mercedes-AMG Petronas driver Nico Rosberg brought a big update to his psychology, straight-up beating teammate Lewis Hamilton to take his first pole position of the season. Mercedes owns the front row and Ferrari maintains its status as primary challenger, Sebastian Vettel lining up in third. Williams proved it's been hitting the books to do better in class, though, Valtteri Bottas slotting into fourth. And Toro Rosso's visit to a track that rewards strong aero rewarded them with the best team grid position since the Italian Grand Prix in 2008: Carlos Sainz secured fifth, ahead of Max Verstappen in sixth. Kimi Raikkonen's bout of Saturday woes – it seems the Finn is always handicapped by lots of tiny issues – continued in Barcelona with one of his sets of prime tires getting cooked by malfunctioning tire warmers. He recovered well enough to take seventh on the grid, but he's got some strong competition ahead of him. He led three other drivers in the Continuous Issues department, Daniil Kvyat unable to wrestle his Infiniti Red Bull Racing higher than eighth, Williams driver Felipe Massa getting it wrong in Turn 3 to fall five places behind his teammate Bottas, and Daniel Ricciardo in the second Red Bull enduring another engine change and sloppy car behavior to get tenth. And while it turned out to be a steady race a little rough around the edges, the positions on the battlefield just might have changed. A little. Of the 66 laps in the race we might have seen Rosberg for three of them – maybe. The German got a smashing start, had a clear lead into Turn 1, and after that we checked in occasionally during his two pit stops and again at the checkered flag. He owned the entire weekend the way we're used to seeing his teammate do, and the cameras left him alone to run his race. No one got within seven seconds of him during the first third, and as the pit stop strategies played out that cushion grew. He finished seventeen seconds ahead of Hamilton, and 45 seconds ahead of third-placed Vettel. Hamilton, on the back foot all three days, stumbled out of the gate.
Mercedes-Benz introduces new heavy security M-Class Guard model
Tue, 19 Mar 2013Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a new addition to the company's line of personal security vehicles. The M-Class Guard features bullet-proof side windows made with special laminated glazing and a polycarbonate inner layer to protect occupants from shards of glass. Mercedes says the M-Class Guard meets protection level VR4 according to the Bullet Resistant Vehicles 2009 standards, based on testing from the independent Ulm-based Ballistics Bureau, which means it can withstand .357 Magnum and .44 fire from multiple angles. It can also stand up to the DM51 hand grenade when equipped with optional floor armoring. Why skimp?
Buyers looking for protection from the world's literal slings and arrows can opt for the ML350 BlueTEC with its 258 horsepower 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine. With 457 pound-feet of torque, the oil-burner should have no trouble hustling the privileged class about. Of course, the ML500 offers a bit more punch courtesy of a 4.6-liter twin-turbo V8 with 408 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. Prices start at 105,050 euros for the diesel and 118,650 euros for the V8. You can check out the full press release below for more information.
Mercedes considering Audi Allroad rival
Fri, Jun 19 2015The Audi Allroad is something of an anomaly in the automotive world. Its competitors are limited to the recently released Volvo V60 Cross Country and perhaps the far cheaper Subaru Outback. The lifted premium wagon hasn't exactly done great for Audi, only selling a few hundred examples each month. Its best sales year was 2013, and even then, only 5,300 left US showrooms. Despite these limited prospects, word from Australia is that Mercedes-Benz is looking at launching its own competitor to the Allroad. "We are looking at every single niche, so we are studying this [Allroad] at the moment, but it is not confirmed," Matthias Luhrs, VP of sales and a member of the product management at MB, told Motoring.com.au. "We are looking obviously at C-Class and E-Class, but no confirmation at the moment." Fortunately, Luhrs recognizes that the Allroad isn't exactly a smash in the US. "In the US, no matter how long, short, high ... they don't like station wagons," Luhrs said, while adding that the Allroad concept is "developing quite successfully" in Italy and southern Europe. And for those hoping for a lifted C- or E-Class sedan, Luhrs also put the kibosh on that, saying, "We are not studying that." So what does this tell us? Well, it's still far from a sure thing that Mercedes will launch a lifted C-Class or E-Class Estate. And even if the company does go ahead with it, like the rest of the brand's long roofs (E-Class aside), don't expect to see it on US roads.
