Here you go folks! A great 1985 Mercedes Benz 500 SEC, European Model that is a running, driving, driven daily 500! It has had one repaint, but covered in the original color gray. It has a small dime sized chip above the passenger fender. All other paint covergae is great driver quality. The lower front spoiler has had a small fiberglass repair, as these are notorious in getting scrapped. All door glass is good and move up and down as they should, including the sun roof. The interior is clean, and doesn't appear to have any rips or tears. The wood trim was replaced at one time, and could be replaced with a better quaility kit. All driving lights work and the vehicle was recently VA State inspected this past June, so good until June 2014. All tires are good and have plenty of tread on them. It has a newer CD detractable face stereo in it, but I can't figure how to make it work, although it does have power. The antenna goes up and down, and there is a 6 CD changer mounted in the trunk. Also has a spare in the trunk well with the same style MB wheel. The big V8 engine runs great, and cruises real nice down the highway. Trans shifts as it should. There is a small exhaust leak that goes away when the engine gets hot. TThe painter put the wrong emblem on the trunk, and put the emblem for a 560 I had painted at the same time on this 500. This MB is a great car that has a few things that could be fine tuned while your having fun driving it. I have no doubts you could fly in and drive her home. Good Luck!

** I've entered a VIN Number for a 1989 Mercedes Benz 560 SEC that I'm going to list, because ebay doesn't recognize the VIN No. WDB1260441A135861 for this 1985 Mercedes Benz 500 SEC. This 1985 is a European Model with VIN No. WDB1260441A135861. This number is also on the ID tag on the drivers door jamb and front engine cowl.

Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 teases gullwing doors in video

Tue, Aug 16 2016

Because these are the times we live in, automakers tease their biggest and best debuts mercilessly before finally dropping the curtain. That's why we're writing about the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Concept again. Here's a new video, posted on Mercedes' Instagram page, showing even more of the hulking two-door coupe. For one, it looks like Mercedes is revisiting gullwing doors. There's a brief snippet of the doors in the open position with a red light – possibly a brake light – bisecting the roof. The video also gives us a couple of good looks at the taillights, which are super-model skinny, just like the lamps up front. Look close at the rear three-quarter cut, and you'll spot a strong chrome strip that accentuates and breaks up those beefy rear haunches. It's hard to tell where they fit in with the chrome strips on the front fenders and hood, so we'll probably need to wait until the big debut to see how it all works out. As we've said twice already, the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 debuts on August 18. Stay tuned. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Mercedes-Benz releases US-spec 2014 Sprinter details

Mon, 06 May 2013

Last week, Mercedes-Benz released the details for the updated 2013 Sprinter intended for global markets, but this week it has announced what changes are being made to the US-spec version of the van for the 2014 model year, including the Freightliner model. As expected, most of the changes made to the European model will be present on the 2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter when it goes on sale in the US, which is expected to be this fall.
The biggest difference between the Sprinter announced last week and the one headed to our shores is what is found under the hood. While European Sprinters will come with diesel engines and offer the availability of a supercharged four-cylinder gasoline or CNG engine, US Sprinters will still offer the 3.0-liter V6 BlueTEC diesel. This year's Sprinter now comes standard with a new base engine, the 2.1-liter four-cylinder BlueTEC diesel. This smaller engine will produce 161 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque, and will be paired to a seven-speed automatic transmission; the optional 3.0 V6 puts out 188 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque, and will be mated to a six-speed auto.
Fuel economy for the new Sprinter has not been announced, but Mercedes-Benz has made numerous changes with the goal of improving efficiency. To this end you'll find a new, low-friction rear axle and the optimization for the generator, fuel pump and power steering pump.
