1987 Merecedes 560 Sl Beauty on 2040-cars
Miami Beach, Florida, United States
This 1987 Mercedes-Benz 560SL with only 82,614 is a beautiful example,
finished in Dark Red Brown paint with the supple color of Beige leather
interior. With only two owners, this Mercedes has been meticulously maintained and
loved for its entire life. A garage queen it is not, as the owner took great
pleasure in driving the car when the weather permitted. Over its life, there
was no expense spared in making this car survive the times and still maintain
its luxurious style.
The engine starts on the first crank, and runs with the smoothness and
power expected from a well crafted German machine. Electrical and mechanical
components function as new, with one of the coldest A/C systems.
The car comes with the stored soft top and a color matching hardtop.
The paint is original and aged, although no cracks or blemishes are present.
There is some age, 27 years old, that can be buffed out to bring this car up to
show quality. Because the car never sees sunlight, as it is stored indoors, the
color still maintains its deep hue of Maroon and Brown depending on where your
view point is. All chrome and rubber exterior accents excellent in their
original condition.
Interior of this car is superb. The leather is fine and supple with
very little signs of wear. The wood inserts are free of blemishes and cracks,
holding up very well for its age. Carpets and panels all in the same quality as
the rest of the car.
Pictures don't do this car justice, it’s truly a wonderful version of
the Mercedes Benz SL.
Please feel free to email for any questions on the car. Thank you |

Mercedes-Benz releases stunning first images of 2014 S-Class
Mon, 18 Mar 2013
The all-new 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, designated W222, is one of the most highly anticipated debuts of its model year. Every generation of the flagship sedan has broken new ground in technology and innovation for the entire industry, and the German automaker appears determined to raise the bar much further with its latest arrival as it promises to deliver "the best automobile in the world." Mercedes-Benz has just released nearly two dozen interior images of the new sedan, showing off style in design, craftsmanship in execution and pioneering advancements in technology.
Unlike all previous generations - the first S-Class officially arrived in 1972 - the 2014 model completely discards a traditional instrument cluster and replaces it with two high-resolution color displays in 8:3 format with a screen diagonal of 12.3 inches (the outgoing model's gauges were a mix of digital and analog). The left unit displays traditional analog gauges (digitally, of course) while the right unit is reserved for infotainment and comfort settings with the automaker's all-new mBrace2 - a cloud-based entertainment and information delivery system that is rolling out this year.
Test drive the Mercedes SLS AMG Electric Drive with Chris Harris
Thu, 11 Apr 2013It's hard to not like the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT. The all-aluminum coupe is fitted with a wonderful naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 delivering 583 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. Not only does the burly combustion engine launch the two-seater to 60 miles per hour in less than four seconds, but it does so with one of the world's greatest exhaust soundtracks as it roars, burbles and cackles down the road.
But what happens when Mercedes-Benz takes away the V8 and its accompanying fire-burning song? Stripped of one of its most appealing assets, does the SLS lose its soul?
Chris Harris recently had the opportunity to take the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive for a track spin in Europe. Sans gasoline, but with four electric motors providing a combined 740 horsepower (737 pound-feet of torque), all-electric all-wheel drive coupe uses sophisticated torque vectoring and a multi-mode operating system to put oversteer - drifting! - back into the equation. Fun? You bet. See for yourself, below.
Online Find of the Day: Lexus-engined Mercedes pickup is a vintage hybrid
Tue, 16 Sep 2014You have to love someone who gets incredibly committed to a very weird idea. What you see for sale here is a right-hand drive 1971 Mercedes-Benz 220D in South Africa, but this old Mercedes is now converted into a pickup, complete with bed cover, and there's big secret under the hood, too.
The pickup conversion appears well done based on seller Sedgefield Classic Cars' photos. Even the tonneau cover fits well. You could almost believe that this Mercedes lived its life as a Chevrolet El Camino-like pickup from the very beginning.
However, the rear-quarters conversion might not be the weirdest thing about this Mercedes. The original diesel is gone from the engine bay in favor of a Lexus V8. It seems really odd to pop the hood and find a Japanese mill in this German car, but the photos make it look like a fairly well performed swap. So, bravo to the crazy thinking. According to the seller speaking to Autoblog by email, "as far as we can establish, this was done a few years ago, with all Lexus components."
