1986 Mercedes-benz 560sl Convertible 2-door - 2 Owners - 2 Tops on 2040-cars
Winter Park, Florida, United States
Yes, you deserve it. Yes, you should buy it. This is a 2 Owner, Adult owned FLORIDA car! The R107 series of Mercedes-Benz roadsters were
some of the most successful cars ever produced by the German automaker. Today
they remain fantastic cruisers with great performance and an iron-clad
reputation for quality and durability. This beautifully maintained 2 owners
Burgundy1986 560SL is the one to own with the biggest engine fitted to an R107
and the longest list of standard features. Of course it still carries the
instantly-recognizable bodywork that defined almost two decades' worth of SLs. This astoundingly clean SL is exactly the kind
of no-stories car you want to own. There's still a great shine to the paint
because you truly did get something exceptional for your money back in 1986 and
there's no denying that Mercedes-Benz did put these together with extreme
care-just look at the way the panels fit. And until you've slammed the door on
one of these over-built tanks you don't know how solid a topless car can be.
The beautiful elegant Black interior is largely new including fresh seat covers.
The seats have that firm feeling that only
Mercedes seats seem to deliver and all the gauges are fully functional. In fact
everything works can be rare on other machines this sophisticated but common on
well-maintained R107s. By '86 just about everything was standard on the SL
including automatic climate control a power passenger side mirror power windows
cruise control and recent additions like airbags and ABS brakes. The fully
lined trunk is fitted with plush black carpets and this car includes both a
soft top and removable hardtop and a battery trickle charger. We will also
include the Hardtop cradle and Hoist for easy on off install and removal of the
hardtop. Recently serviced with virtually all the receipts the 5.6-liter V8 engine under the hood was a big upgrade in the power department. The engine lights off with a rumbling V8 idle and pulls hard thanks to 227 horsepower and a quick-shifting 4-speed automatic transmission. The engine bay is tidy, but the hood liner needs to be replaced, and shows signs of the recent service work and original details like the painted fender bolts (at the factory the fenders were installed and then the car was painted) and production tag on the radiator cradle remain completely intact. These cars routinely run hundreds of thousands of miles with proper maintenance and thanks to the extensive paperwork with this one you can buy with confidence. Even the tires are relatively recent on near-flawless 16-inch M-B alloy wheels. Even though it's nearly 25 years old this SL commands respect on the road with great performance and sumptuous comfort. Showing up in this car still means you've truly arrived; only you will know how affordable it really is. This car has been well maintained all its life, including a long list of recent service items. This car starts right up, runs great and looks great. Is it perfect? No, it is not a garage queen. There is a small scratch on the driver side right by the wheel arch and a small crack in the wood around the shifter and in the back of the dashboard. This car comes with 2 keys, tools, top removal tool and the maintenance and owners manual A rare Windscreen for comfortable top down motoring is included. No messed up hair on arrival. Bid Today or
contact us for more information. We reserve the right to cancel the auction as
the car is for sale locally. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Non paying bidders, unqualified bidding, bid shielding, auction interference or any type of harassment will be dealt with according to Ebay Rules and may include loss of deposit. PLACING A BID ON THIS AUCTION CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND ACKNOWLEDGMENT THAT YOU HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD ALL THE INFORMATION PRESENTED. |

8 cars we're most looking forward to driving in 2015
Mon, Jan 5 2015Now that 2014 is officially in the books, it's time to look ahead. And following our list of the cars we liked best last year, we're now setting our sights at the hot new metal that's coming our way in 2015. Some of these, we've already seen. And some are still set to debut during the 2015 auto show season. But these are the machines that keep us going – the things on the horizon that we're particularly stoked to drive, and drive hard. Jeep Renegade Not the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Not the Ford Mustang GT350. Not the new John Cooper Works Mini. Nope, I'm looking forward to the adorable, trail-rated Jeep Renegade. And that's because I really, really, really like our long-term Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. I do not, however, care too much for the Cherokee's looks, and I really don't like its $38,059 price tag. The Renegade Trailhawk, meanwhile, promises much of the same rough-and-tumble character as its big brother, but at what we expect will be a more reasonable price (I'm personally wagering on the baby Jeep's off-road model starting at no more than $23,000). With a 2.4-liter four-cylinder and a nine-speed automatic, it should also be a bit easier to fill than the V6-powered Cherokee. Also, I can't help but love the way the Renegade looks. It's like someone took a Wrangler, squished it by 50 percent and then handed it off to George Clinton for a healthy dose of funk. The interior, with its bright, expressive trims and color schemes should also be a really nice place to spend some time. I'll be attending the Renegade's launch later this month, so I'll have a much shorter wait than my colleagues. Here's hoping the baby Jeep lives up to my expectations. – Brandon Turkus Associate Editor Mazda MX-5 Miata Here's an uncomfortable truth: I'd rather spend a day driving a properly sorted Mazda MX-5 Miata of any generation on a winding road than I would nearly any other vehicle, regardless of power, price or prestige. It's not just that I prize top-down driving and enjoy the Miata's small size because it gives me more road to play with. I just find there's more motoring joy to be had with high-fidelity handling and an uncorrupted car-to-driver communication loop than I do with face-distorting power or grip – let alone valet-stand gravitas. But perhaps most of all, I love Miatas because they can deliver that level of feedback and driver reward at modest speeds that won't put the locals on edge or endanger lives – you can use more of the car more of the time.
Mercedes C-Class Coupe due to go on sale next December
Sat, Dec 6 2014While we expect to see the coming Mercedes C-Class convertible sometime next year, perhaps at the Paris Motor Show, Auto Motor und Sport reports that the C-Class Coupe will go on sale in December 2015 (probably in Europe first) - it's possible we'll see it debuted at the same time as the cabrio. The German magazine says the two-door will have sharper lines on a body that is four inches longer, almost two inches wider and a fraction of an inch lower than the sedan, dimensional aggrandizement that will be put to good effect on the AMG version coming in 2016. We'll have to wait for information on powertrains, which should hew to the sedan's lineup in addition to whatever else M-B might bring over here, topped off by the 503-horsepower, twin-turbo V8 in the AMG variant. Speaking of which, the 'last-generation' C63 AMG Coupe is still on sale until spring of next year, if you're a fan of the classics. Or you can wait on news of the C-Class four-door coupe, if niches inside of niches are what you're really after.
Mercedes-Maybach SUV concept headed for Beijing reveal in April
Mon, Mar 19 2018Mercedes-Benz has toyed with the idea of a Maybach SUV for at least 11 years. According to Autocar, we'll finally see a concept with production intent at the Beijing Motor Show next month, the luxury SUV slated for market release next year. As has been the rumor for at least six years, the Maybach people carrier will be based on a stretched version of the GLS, which moves to the company's new Modular High Architecture with the 2019 model. Back in 2007 when Maybach was its own brand and selling roughly 300 units per year, Car magazine reported that brand chiefs were interested in convertible versions of the Maybach 57 and 62 sedans, and an SUV. Maybach built a one-off concept based on the GL — the former GLS-Class — in 2009, but never took the idea further. The rumor popped up again in 2014, then in 2015, reaching not-if-but-when status early last year. A decade on, it's finally time to play the hand. Even though the super-luxe SUV would sit on a stretched version of what is already a three-row SUV, it's reasonable to expect the Maybach SUV will only get two rows. That would give designers plenty of extra room for seating luxury and amenities even beyond the S-Class Maybach. On the other hand, if Mercedes sticks to the rough Maybach playbook so far, a triple-row Maybach would be the only such SUV in the mid- to upper-six-figures. The S-Class 560 4Matic starts at $102,990, the S 560 4Matic Maybach starts at $168,600. Applying that spread to the $94,500 GLS 550, you'd land around $160,000 before adding the markup for a new generation. That kind of starter pricing might make a great tweener proposition. Mercedes could focus on a range of buyers who want to go upscale from the $125,300 AMG GLS 63, without needing to worry — yet — about challenging Bentley and Rolls-Royce. Power is said to come from some version of the company's oft-applied 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that puts out 462 horsepower in the S 560, but the 3.0-liter inline-six hybrid in the S 560e is under consideration. We'll know next month, when the lightly veiled concept takes the stand in China. The full-on production version should get an introduction at this year's L.A. Auto Show. Related Video:
