I originally had this vehicle listed in Seattle, but the reserve was not met. I since drove it from Seattle to Las Vegas with no mechanical issues. The car cruised nicely and comfortably on cruise control at 75 mph the whole way down. Upon arriving in Las Vegas I had the oil changed and the new tires rotated.
I have since taken two trip once to LA and the 2nd trip to San Diego in the car and have had no mechanical issues.
Power windows, cruise control, interval wipers, adjustable seats are all in excellent working condition. AC was recently services and blows ice cold and the heater heats up the entire car in less than two minutes. All climate control features are in excellent working order.
Original mats (front & back) have been covered for most of their lives and are in excellent condition. Spare tire and ALL the original chrome tools are included and are in trunk with the original jack.
This vehicle was purchased new in Germany as part of the German Delivery Program (vehicle as the original badge on the front grill). Does not burn or drip any oil and transmission shifts smoothly.
Vehicle as NOT been smoked in - ashtrays and lighter are unused.
MINOR ISSUES - the power antenna works but sticks occasionaly, when I got to Las Vegas I oiled it and it is now functioning. The speedometer sometimes sticks on zero, but jumps up once you hit highway speeds.
In Seattle I put on four brand NEW white wall tires (with approx. 2,000 miles on them) and installed a brand new full sized battery (with seven year AAA warranty). I have managed to accumulate most of the original manuals and books which I have all scanned copies of into my computer.
The leather seats have no rips or tears and for the years are in good condition. The wood interior is not chip or blemished and the dash is in excellent condition with just three hairline cracks which are hardly noticable. Only thing required for the interior to be original is to replace the Sony cassette deck (which was installed by the owner in the 80s) with the Becker unit (I have not been able to locate one of the original Beckers in working order).
Exterior is in amazing condition for being the original paint and chrome. The chrome as is not pitted. The paint is in good condition, it does have some minor scratches and parking lot dents, but these are barely noticable.
Cetificate of title is clean and platet tags are current. Please call me with any questions - 702-666-7131 - vehicle is located in Las Vegas, NV.

Child cobalt miners: Automakers pledge ethical minerals sourcing for EVs
Wed, Nov 29 2017BERLIN - Leading carmakers including Volkswagen and Toyota pledged on Wednesday to uphold ethical and socially responsible standards in their purchases of minerals for an expected boom in electric vehicle production. Demand for minerals such as cobalt, graphite and lithium is forecast to soar in the coming years as governments crack down on vehicle pollution and carmakers step up their investments in electric models. To cover its plans for more than 80 new models by 2025, Volkswagen alone is looking for partners in China, Europe and North America to provide battery cells and related technology worth more than 50 billion euros ($59 billion). Talks with major cobalt producers, including Glencore, at VW's Wolfsburg headquarters last week ended without a deal. More than half of the world's cobalt comes from the Democratic Republic of Congo, a country racked by political instability and legal opacity, and where child labor is used in mines. On Wednesday, a group of 10 leading passenger-car and truck manufacturers announced an initiative to jointly identify and address ethical, environmental, human and labor rights issues in raw materials sourcing. The partnership dubbed "Drive Sustainability" consists of VW, Toyota Motor Europe, Ford, Daimler, BMW, Honda, Jaguar Land Rover, Volvo Cars and truckmakers Scania and Volvo. The alliance "will assess the risks posed by the top raw materials (such as mica, cobalt, rubber and leather) in the automotive sector," said Stefan Crets of the CSR Europe business network. "This will allow Drive Sustainability to identify the most impactful activities to pursue" to address issues within the supply chain.Reporting by Andreas Cremer.Related Video: Image Credit: Michael Robinson Chavez/The Washington Post via Getty Images Green BMW Ford Honda Jaguar Land Rover Mercedes-Benz Automakers Toyota Volkswagen Volvo Green Automakers Green Culture Electric Scania ethics mining
BMW expects China to pass US as its top market in 2013
Thu, 11 Jul 2013When you combine two billion citizens, 100 cities with more than a million inhabitants and an economy that's as unrestrained as Jim Cramer on an Adderall binge, China's explosive auto industry growth shouldn't be a huge surprise. Audi already lists the communist country as its largest market, while Mercedes-Benz is expecting it to be there in the next few years. Now, according to a report from Automotive News, BMW is expecting the People's Republic to overtake the United States in sales by the end of 2013.
We already discovered the extent that BMW is going to in establishing a dedicated Chinese stronghold, when we explored BMW's Shanghai-based DesignWorks studio ahead of April's Shanghai Motor Show. And while we argued that DesignWorks Shanghai hasn't really borne fruit, it isn't due to a lack of sales.
BMW China has seen a 16-percent jump in year-over-year sales, lead by a 28-percent gain in 5 Series sales. Part of BMW's growth strategy comes from an ever-expanding dealership network. Remember those 100 cities we mentioned with over one million people? According to Karsten Engel, CEO of BMW's Chinese operations, those 100-million-plus city dwellers don't have access to a premium dealership.
Daimler names Bernd Pischetsrieder to supervisory board
Mon, 14 Apr 2014Some executives in the automotive industry stay with one company for their entire careers, while others bounce from one to the other, often leaving their indelible mark on each automaker at which they serve. Bob Lutz is certainly an example of the latter. So is Lee Iacocca, having presided over Ford and later charing the Chrysler board. Carlos Tavares was chief operating officer of Renault before being nominated as chief executive at PSA Peugeot Citroën. But as far as the Germans go, nobody's jumped from the leadership of one automaker to the next quite like Bernd Pischetsrieder - especially now that he's been named to the supervisory board of Mercedes-Benz parent company Daimler.
An engineer by training, Pischetsrieder started his career at BMW in 1973, eventually rising to the office of CEO after twenty years. There he remained until 1999, only to be dismissed after orchestrating BMW's takeover of the Rover Group (of which only the Mini brand remains in the company's portfolio, the other brands having been sold off after his dismissal).
The next year he was named chairman of Volkswagen's Seat brand, and rose to the chairmanship of the entire Volkswagen Group two years later. Despite a largely successful four-year tenure (that gave birth, incidentally, to the Bugatti Veyron), disagreements with supervisory board chairman Ferdinand Piëch saw him leave the helm at VW AG, focusing his attention on the Scania truck division. He's since been touted as a potential chief executive for Opel and for Continental, but neither potential was apparently realized.
