I bought this car back in 2010 and it had 68,150 miles on it.  That means in the last 4 years only 2,216 miles were added to it.  It runs great, I just don't use it that often. I am the 3rd owner of it. The original owner bought it in Florida and it was moved here to PA, bought by the second and then by me.

As you can see in the pictures below, it's not a flawless show car- although it is an all original Mercedes.  The car was stored in a garage it's entire life and has no rust on it.  It was recently inspected here in PA.  The whole car was repainted in the original factory color.  The paint job was done by the previous owners brother who is a professional car painter at a new car dealership.  The only blemish on it is where it got dinged in a parking lot. (See picture) I have the touch up paint in the original color that you can take with you.

As far as the roof: I had the soft top replaced with a brand new top.  The plastic on the back is clear and can be seen through.  The hard top is currently residing in my basement.  I took it off the day I got the car since I wanted to run it as a convertible all the time.  It too was repainted along with the rest of the car and is flawless.  I have both original roof tools too.

The car runs great as I mentioned.  All miles are original.  The air conditioning needs work, that is to say it doesn't function.  When I bought the car, I didn't care about this since I wanted a convertible anyhow.

I have the original manual and first aid kit as well.  I bought a new radio for it, so it has a CD player now.  The antenna itself retracts, but not all the way. (see picture)

Please keep in mind this is a 35 year old car.  For instance, the weatherstripping is functional and good, but it isn't going to look like it just rolled off the lot in Miami in 1979.  Also, the armrest is loose and could be fixed or replaced fairly easily.  The driver seat is very comfortable and shows the wear you might expect given the age.  Apparently there weren't many passengers since that seat is in great shape.  Anyone can come and inspect the car but must do that before bidding.  You can ask me for a picture of anything on the car and I'll either email it to you or add it to the pictures on here.  There is no warranty expressed or implied.

Again, please email any questions!

Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 teases gullwing doors in video

Tue, Aug 16 2016

Because these are the times we live in, automakers tease their biggest and best debuts mercilessly before finally dropping the curtain. That's why we're writing about the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Concept again. Here's a new video, posted on Mercedes' Instagram page, showing even more of the hulking two-door coupe. For one, it looks like Mercedes is revisiting gullwing doors. There's a brief snippet of the doors in the open position with a red light – possibly a brake light – bisecting the roof. The video also gives us a couple of good looks at the taillights, which are super-model skinny, just like the lamps up front. Look close at the rear three-quarter cut, and you'll spot a strong chrome strip that accentuates and breaks up those beefy rear haunches. It's hard to tell where they fit in with the chrome strips on the front fenders and hood, so we'll probably need to wait until the big debut to see how it all works out. As we've said twice already, the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 debuts on August 18. Stay tuned. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Mercedes widens luxury sales gap on strong early CLA demand

Wed, 02 Oct 2013

Mercedes-Benz CLA sales have been booming, with the Stuttgart-based manufacturer moving 2,300 of the sleek four-doors in its first week on sale. That is astonishing. Mercedes moved nearly twice as many CLAs (which start at $29,900) in one week than Jaguar, a brand that is on a very solid roll, sold in all of September. Ignoring the price differences between the Jag line and the CLA, that is still wildly impressive.
Mercedes has been pushing the CLA in television ads, using a shortened version of its Super Bowl spot, which starred William Dafoe, Usher and Kate Upton. "As the bargain entrance into the Mercedes portfolio, we weren't sure how luxury buyers would react," Kelly Blue Book auto analyst Alec Gutierrez told Bloomberg.
The CLA push was just part of MB's 6.7-percent increase in September sales, which were also helped along by a 17-percent jump in E-Class sales. That surge has allowed Mercedes to widen its 2013 sales lead over its rival, BMW, to 2,491 cars, according to Bloomberg. If CLA sales continue at this rate, we can only expect that margin to grow.

Daimler employees can set email to auto-delete during vacation

Mon, 18 Aug 2014

The Internet has shrunk the world in terms of the way people communicate by making it possible to send an email from Oslo and have it show up in Cleveland almost immediately. But that instant contact has wrecked the work/life balance for many. They get home from a long day at the office, yet they can never fully put their feet up and relax because another hour or more of checking and replying to emails awaits. However, German automotive giant Daimler is putting an end to that churn, at least while its employees are on vacation.
About 100,000 Daimler employees in Germany are eligible to opt-in to a new program called Mail on Holiday, according to The Atlantic. When the workers go on vacation, they can switch it on, and the service auto-deletes all of their incoming email. "Our employees should relax on holiday and not read work-related emails," said Wilfried Porth, board member for human resources, to The Financial Times as cited by The Atlantic.
Mail on Holiday puts a thumb on the scale of work/life balance in favor of a little more free time. The system means that Daimler employees shouldn't even be tempted to check their email on vacation because there's nothing there - and it also avoids them coming back from a relaxing holiday only to find a mailbox packed full of hundreds of unread messages. These days, people are absolutely obsessed with their work, often to the detriment of their health, not to mention spending time with their families and friends. On one hand, Mail on Holiday sounds like the sort of vacation breakthrough we'd need to truly unplug and unwind, but on the other hand, it makes our skin crawl just thinking about the lack of communication. What's your perspective? Have your say in Comments.
