1979 Mercedes Benz 450 Slc In Pristine Condition In/out/mechanical. Georgia Car on 2040-cars
South Easton, Massachusetts, United States
1979 Mercedes Benz 450 SLC - 2 door fixed head coupe. This car is pristine condition with only 125K Original miles for a 35 year old car. The interior is flawless with only minor bolster wear on the driver's seat. The dash board is original and in excellent condition with all Gauges operating and lighting up. Climate control is fully functional and delivers excellent heat and air conditioning. Carpets are in beautiful shape with very little wear shown for their age. Mechanically the car starts up every time and takes about 30 seconds to slow down to a quiet purrr. Fantastic 8-cylinder acceleration and car stops on a dime. No squeaks/rattles or anything. Car turning radius is phenominol, no more 3 point turns. All windows are smoked out as car was a Georgia car and shows no fade on the seats because of the tinting. I just spent $400 on fuel pump/filter, tune up and brand new door handles as the old ones would freeze in new england weather. The new ones are original and do not freeze at all. All lighting for convenience and accessory lights up when you open the doors. Suspension is excellent and car floats on the highway and takes the off ramps like a ferrari. This is a real and genuine German sports coupe with a fixed top but an oversized automatic sunroof lets in plenty of open air. ALl electric windows are fully funcitional. Full size spare and jack, Newer Battery. This is a daily driver in need of NO repairs or restoration. It is original and unmolested and in beautiful condition. Very close to being a show car. Car is equipped with an updated CD player and newer speakers front/back. Automatic antenna, rear defrost, rear seat lighting, and operational cruise control. Newer tires with original alloys.
Please ask any questions but also view pictures and appreciate the true beauty of this classic. It turns heads everywhere and has lots and lots of life left.
Thanks for your interest and please email with any quesitons. Car can be seen/driven any time and can be driven anywhere.

Mercedes-Maybach Pullman is the luxury car for the discerning dictator
Fri, Mar 16 2018For decades, Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-Maybach cars have been the ride of choice for leaders across the globe, presidents, ambassadors, dictators and despots alike. The Pullman model — a long-wheelbase six-seat variant — has been particularly popular with this select clientele. This week, the German automaker announced the latest version of the car, the Mercedes-Maybach Pullman S650. Essentially, this is a stretched version of the V12-powered Maybach with two rear-facing seats just behind the front row. Mercedes is calling this vis-a-vis seating. There's also a partitioning glass between the front seats and the rear cabin. This is of course to help prevent the chauffeur from learning and spilling any state secrets or plans for plans for secret moon bases. New for this model is a front-facing camera for rear-seat passengers. This allows occupants to watch for any oncoming obstacles, barricades or road blocks. Visually, there's no mistaking the Pullman for another Maybach or really anything else on the road. The car is 21.3-feet long, 4.5-feet longer than the standard Maybach or roughly the size of two and a half Smart Fortwo placed bumper-to-bumper. The requisite 20-inch 10-hole wheels are present and the standard pinstripe Maybach grille has been updated with a slightly new design. The car only comes in S650 trim, meaning it's powered by a 630 horsepower 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12. As expected, the Mercedes-Maybach Pullman isn't cheap. Orders have started, but be prepared to shell out at least $615,000 before adding any custom touches. Autoblog drives to the Arctic Circle
Fri, 22 Mar 2013In Which Mercedes' Sprinter Becomes A Long-Distance Sherpa
In the wintery wilds of northern Alaska, even the cute little critters want to kill you.
As I am about to nod off on my long leg flight from Minneapolis to Anchorage ahead of driving to the Arctic Circle, the friendly twenty-something Alaskan knitting furiously in the seat next to me pauses and says, "When you're driving up there, don't open your windows." In the dead of winter? I hadn't planned on cruising alfresco, but her warning to keep the glazing snugged against the weatherstripping is one I would take to heart. She continues: "If you leave 'em open, a fox is liable to jump right in. There are lots of rabid foxes up there, and they leap into your car and just Go. To. Town." And here I was, thinking that a curious bear or maybe an ill-placed moose in the road was going to be my biggest potential four-legged threat. In the wintery wilds of northern Alaska, even the cute little critters want to kill you.
