1978 Mercedes Benz 450sl roadster. 93,600 original miles. Odometer has 7 digits and there is a zero in front. So we know it is the true mileage. No battery and is currently non-oped. Ran when parked over 10 years ago where it has sat in a driveway under cover. As far as we know it might just need a battery to start it up. Has an aftermarket Hitachi am/fm cassette player installed that comes with the manual. Automatic Transmission. This a convertible roadster. Unsure if there is a soft top. There is definitely a hard top. All glass looks real good. The interior is beautiful. No tears or rips, or stains on the seats. Dash has no cracks. The bottom part of the armrest on the drivers door is loose. Other then that it looks real good. Body is real straight too. The running light on the passenger is busted, but does have a replacement light that comes with the car. Some moderate rust bubbles on top of both headlights. Front bumper on right by bumper guard has some dings and the right front bumper guard itself is cracked. Couldn't get the hood latch to engage to open the hood. So therefore no shots of the motor. There was also a small rust bubble on the right rear quarter panel and some small rust bubbles by the antenna. Comes with 2 spare tires and rims plus an extra rim. All Mercedes. All the rims including the ones on the car are somewhat weathered. The tires look decent and hold air. Also getting back to the interior the passenger seat does not seem to engage when you are trying to push it forward to get in the back seat.. The reserve on this vehicle is based on completed auctions on Ebay plus a parts car price stated in 2014 Collector's Car Price Guide. Even though this car is more a project car then a parts car.. This is also a cash in person auction. The other option is direct cash deposit or bank wire transfer. No exceptions on this. Must be completed in full in 3 business days. After which time you have 2 weeks to pick up the vehicle. Please have current updated contact information on Ebay. I expect people to have a working reachable cell phone and to contact me within 24 hours of auction's close. If you have little or no feedback and don't contact me before you bid I will cancel and block your bid immediately. Please feel free to ask any and all questions before you bid. I appreciate you visiting my auction. Thank you good luck and happy bidding! Also in closing there is a clear title in hand that comes with the car. And of course it is a California title. Since the car is not running it is being sold as parts car and will not come with a smog certificate for California buyers. Thanx again!

Mercedes-AMG GT attacks Circuit of the Americas
Fri, 12 Sep 2014Mercedes-Benz is having a banner year with its Formula One team. Through 2014, the constructor has 454 championship points; ahead of its nearest competitor (Red Bull-Renault) by a margin of 182 tally marks. We're sure they can almost taste the champagne.
It's fitting then, and a little big cocky in a good way, that Mercedes has released a video of its newest sports car at an F1 venue. In this case, the car is the lovely Mercedes-AMG GT S, and the racetrack is Austin's Circuit of the Americas.
Having seen the official photo set and scratched the surface of the technical specifications earlier this week, we're excited to finally hear the thing run. As you might guess, the deployment of 503 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque from the twin-turbo V8 is a motivating experience. Crank up your volume, and hit that play button. (Oh, and Mercedes shot the thing in 4K, too, so those of you with expensive televisions/monitors should take heed to the settings.)
Mercedes-Benz killing Maybach in 2013, replacing with S600 Pullman
Fri, 25 Nov 2011According to an unnamed Mercedes-Benz source speaking with AutoWeek, the German automaker is killing off its Maybach line in 2013.
The unsurprising news comes after the brand was resurrected in 2002, but failed to meet sales expectations with its two core models, the Maybach 57 and 62. Further solidifying its fate, a deal with Aston Martin to aid in the development of future Maybachs fell through earlier this year.
According to the AutoWeek insider, the plan is to continue to sell both Maybach models through the end of 2013, after which the fifth-generation S-Class will go on sale. When that happens, three new variants of the S-Class will be available, including an all-new, range-topping S600 that brings back the Pullman moniker and may be better suited to competing with the likes of Bentley and Rolls-Royce.
Aston or Bust? Maybach's fate to be decided next month

What will become of Maybach? That question has been rattling around the halls of Daimler headquarters in Stuttgart for some time now. But all questions will be answered, and answered soon: according to reports, the German automaker is currently evaluating prototypes and propositions for its top-end marque, and will make its decision next month.
So, what are the options? On the one hand, Daimler could kill the Maybach brand altogether. It was a notion ill conceived and even more poorly executed, taking an old platform and building a new flagship atop it. In that way, it was sort of like the Chrysler Crossfire, only far more costly to both the buyer and manufacturer. On the other hand, Daimler could opt for the long-time-coming proposition of contracting the production (and possibly much of the development) of a new generation of Maybachs to Aston Martin.
