The story:
Bought this car for my son last summer. He thoroughly enjoyed all the options this car has and has driven it basically back and forth to school. I purchased this off of Ebay from a church organization in Indianapolis. Everything works, even the AC. Power windows, locks, seats, interior is in pretty good shape, leather has some wear on the drivers seat, but passenger and back are nice. Sunroof, aftermarket Alpine stereo with amps in the trunk. Security system. Drove very nice and was dependable up until a few weeks back. I took this into the local mercedes dealership(Eurosport-Springfield) and they put a new mass air flow sensor and throttle body sensor, new spark plugs. It fixed the problem, which was that it was running too rich and then dying. This was $1000 check written, but it drove fine afterwards. They checked everything out thoroughly and said it was fine. Then last week it died at a stop sign and had to be towed back to my house. I have planned to have it looked at, but have lost my job in the meantime and do not have the funds to mess with it. It's turning over but just acts flooded. These cars, in fair shape right now KBB for $3100. It may be just a loose wire, it may need the fuel injectors cleaned, I don't know. But boy now wants a pickup truck. I have 3 other Mercedes in the family, all have been very good to me. They run forever. I just do not have the money to check this out. I know it's nothing huge, could be another sensor. There are no leaks, it does not overheat as I put a new water pump on it 6 months ago. There is no rust on this car whatsoever and the frame seems to be well intact. There are the usual swirls and some slight fading on the hood as for any car of this age. It will need to be towed as I just don't trust it. Could be an awesome buy for the right person. Call 217-622-6363. This is priced to sell, so please, no tire kickers.

2014 Mercedes-Benz B-Class ED has 87-mile range, 84 MPGe

Well, that extra weight had to be felt somewhere. With Mercedes-Benz getting ready to start US sales of its B-Class Electric drive this summer, the big question was how well its range would stack up against other electric vehicles sold in the States. Turns out, the Benz is a bit of a juice hog. Let's say up front that the 87-mile single-charge range of the Mercedes-Benz actually stacks up nicely against its competition, since that distance puts the new model right in line with the Nissan Leaf and BMW i3 (we'll ignore the Tesla Model S for a second, here). You can find the numbers at the US Department of Energy's FuelEconomy website. As far as miles per gallon equivalent ratings, though, the Benz's steel frame makes it come up short, as it's about 1,300 pounds heavier than the carbon-fiber-body i3 and about 600 pounds heavier than the Leaf. The B-Class EV has a bigger battery than the i3 or the Leaf (36 kWh compared to 22 kWh for the i3 and 24 kWh for the Leaf) and that's one reason the car gets an 84 MPGe rating, which is about 26 percent less than the Leaf's and 32 percent less than the i3's. But at least the local utility companies will be happy. Mercedes-Benz priced the 177-horsepower B-Class ED in April at $41,450, or $100 more than the i3. Mercedes AMG and Cigarette Racing debut 2,220-HP electric motor boat

Take the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG E-Cell, stretch it and take off the wheels then make it float and you've basically got the just-unveiled Cigarette AMG Electric Drive Concept. Powered by an all-electric powertrain that offers 2,200 horsepower and 2,213 pound-feet of torque (and uses "numerous components" taken from the not-quite-as-yellow SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive), the sleek concept is being called the "world's most powerful electric drive powerboat." What that means is a top speed of over 100 miles per hour from four 60-kWh lithium-ion batteries and two banks of six liquid-cooled, permanent-magnet synchronous electric motors. And the 240 kWh of total energy should provide plenty of juice out on the water.
Launched (but not literally) at the Miami International Boat Show today, the Cigarette AMG Electric Drive Concept is the result of a partnership between Mercedes-AMG and Cigarette Racing. The boat is 38 feet long (much longer than the 15-foot SLS) and is plastered with AMG branding on the sides and top of the bow above the matte chrome yellow paint (officially called AMG Electricbeam mango). Two 220-kW chargers can refill the batteries, dockside, in about seven hours.
The idea of a powerful electric boat is nothing new (Henrik Fisker talked about a plug-in hybrid watercraft late last year), but this is the first time we've seen Mercedes put its EV technology on the water.
