This listing is for sale of a mechanically excellent 1991 Mercedes 420 SEL Automatic Silver. This is my personal vehicle. 

The car is presented as it is, its not been shined or polished to make it look better, no additives have been added to stop a leak. Its genuinely robust and mechanically healthy. 

Here are the Vehicle Highlights:
  1. A nice clean Florida car for its entire lifetime, the car is in sound shape.
  2. The car is running daily and is in excellent mechanical shape. 
  3. Engine and transmission run strong and quite. 
  4. The car looks presentable, smells nice and cruises smooth on Interstate as well as handles great in city. 
  5. Its a true classic, now appreciating in value steadily with the mint ones selling over 12k. 
  6. This piece itself is buy and drive example. 
  7. Everything works on the car as it should, except two minor issues: the wiper washer spray and one rear window, which works but is erratic. 
  8. I have the spare wiper washer motor, which most likely will be installed before delivering the vehicle or supplied along with it to the buyer. 
  9. It will also come with a brand new OEM hood badge/emblem, insalled or provided to purchaser.
  10. It starts right up, shifts smooth and cruises and drives nice and straight. It does not leak or burn engine oil. 
  11. The car comes with all the books it originally came with, has service history has well. 
  12. The interior is nice and clean with the driver seat showing some wear. 
  13. Roof lining, rear seats carpets, consoles are all clean and nice. 
  14. All switches work on the vehicle.
  15. The vehicle has everything original on it, including the carpets.
  16. It has factory Blaupunkt cassette-radio system which works nice and sounds great.
  17. The power seats, memory seats, power headrest adjustment power windows, power sunroof, cruise control, air conditioning, dimmer switch, fog lights, power steering height adjustment, power mirror... all work exactly as they should. 
  18. The car Vehicle History report is stating clearly that it is in well beyond average condition. 
  19. The paint is faded on roof, hood and trunk and fenders. 
  20. The tyres have some tread but less than 50%.
  21. The spare is a full size. 
  22. The trunk light does not work.
  23. Power antenna for radio does not work. Headlight wipers need replaced. 
  24. Buy with confidence. Delivery is possible throughout the continental United states with prior arrangement and cost.
  25. Addition update June 22 14:00 EST:
  • The car has a new battery, installed Dec2012/Jan2013 which still carries warranty.
  • A/c works excellent, all vents work 100%, front and back seats.
  • Transmission will last many years, as it was newly built about 20k miles ago.

Mercedes C-Class Coupe due to go on sale next December

While we expect to see the coming Mercedes C-Class convertible sometime next year, perhaps at the Paris Motor Show, Auto Motor und Sport reports that the C-Class Coupe will go on sale in December 2015 (probably in Europe first) - it's possible we'll see it debuted at the same time as the cabrio. The German magazine says the two-door will have sharper lines on a body that is four inches longer, almost two inches wider and a fraction of an inch lower than the sedan, dimensional aggrandizement that will be put to good effect on the AMG version coming in 2016. We'll have to wait for information on powertrains, which should hew to the sedan's lineup in addition to whatever else M-B might bring over here, topped off by the 503-horsepower, twin-turbo V8 in the AMG variant. Speaking of which, the 'last-generation' C63 AMG Coupe is still on sale until spring of next year, if you're a fan of the classics. Or you can wait on news of the C-Class four-door coupe, if niches inside of niches are what you're really after.

Mercedes S-Class Magic Body Control ad is clucking awesome

This is a new ad from Mercedes-Benz. At no point does it show an automobile. Instead, it stars animals, but not the sort you might normally see in car commercial. This ad is all about chickens. It is bizarre, to say the least, with Diana Ross and the Supremes belting it out in the background, but it all kind of comes together when you realize just what Mercedes is hawking (yeah, pun intended).
It's for the manufacturer's Magic Body Control, found on the new S-Class. The system basically analyzes the road and prepares the suspension accordingly, leading to a ride that is, in the words of our own Chris Paukert "nothing short of spooky."
