Price is FIRM. No need to make offers. Cash only.

OK condition. This car runs and stops, turns left, turns right, backs up. That's pretty much it. And it's really safe. It won't stall or anything, runs strong and AC is cold. Still putting on miles! But only about 100 miles a week, short trips to the store, doctor, library and so on, it's my wife's car and she stays home with the baby.

The current set of Michelins have only 15K miles on them (have invoice). Those cost $600.

The tires, plus $1,900 of work I put into it right after I bought it 2.5 years ago (have invoice). I won't recover any of it that's why the price is firm.

I replaced the faded purpled tinting, the new tinting is nice. Did all the regular oil change.

Have most of my service records and some previous owner's.

Issues (read carefully!):

Front rotors need to go. I would have replaced them except I can't get one of the lug nuts off... the previous guy probably cross threaded the lug nut. If you don't know how to fix this then you shouldn't buy this car because it needs rotors, this is a serious safety issue, it's a big reason I'm getting rid of this car otherwise I'd keep it. Priced accordingly.

Engine idles a little rough at times, not earthquake rough, just a little rougher than a Mercedes should idle, most of the time it purrs... I don't know, maybe distributor or wiring or gasket? Like I said it doesn't stall, no, it runs very strong and gets good mileage. Burns oil though like all old cars do.

Previous owner repainted it, was it in an accident? Autocheck.com shows clean history. The title is clean and clear! Run your own Carfax and see. I had been very happy with the car... until I needed to do the rotors and couldn't unscrew the lug nut.

Some dents and dings on body, a few rust spots on front window frame

Peeling paint from bumpers

Driver's door release latch loose (see pics in link) but works so well I never even think about it.

Many miscellaneous like cracked plastic, broken leather on pillars around front seatbelt hangers, bumps, bruises...

NOT A SHOWROOM CAR! Not even close. It's perfect for your wife if you like her a little but not that much.

I got a newer Mercedes so I don't need this one. Good luck with it if you buy it.

Car is in 92649. If local buyer we'll arrange a public meeting ground for the show and test drive, if you even want to drive it after looking at it that is. If you're really going to buy it then we'll conduct the transaction at a AAA office.

If not local then buyer responsible for all transport arrangement and costs. I don't know a thing about shipping a car and am not going out of my way to do it.

World Car Of The Year down to its final four

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

Judges for the World Car of the Year Award have narrowed down the finalists to just four vehicles. Out of a total of 42 entries, only the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, Porsche Boxster/Cayman, Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT-86 and Volkswagen Golf remain standing. For Volkswagen, this marks the second consecutive year the company has had an entry among the finalists, and the fourth time since 2009. In order to qualify, a vehicle must be on sale on two continents during the span of time between January 1, 2013 and May 30, 2013. A panel of 66 journalists from 23 countries then vote on the finalists.
Three vehicles have made the cut for the last round of voting on the 2013 World Performance Car as well, with the Cayman/Boxster and FR-S/BRZ/GT-86 running against the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. Meanwhile, the Renault Zoe, Tesla Model S and Volvo V60 Plug-In Hybrid are duking it out for the World Green Car Award. Finally, the World Car Design of the Year Award is up for grabs between the Aston Martin Vanquish, Jaguar F-Type, and the Mazda6. Check out the full press release below. Overall winners will be presented at the 2013 New York Auto Show.

My year in EVs: 8 electrics that are changing the car industry

Wed, Dec 1 2021

The year 2021 will go down as an inflection point in the auto industry’s transition to electric vehicles. It's when many much-anticipated models became reality. No longer sketches or sketchy prototypes, electric vehicles appeared from all corners with everything from the Lucid Air to Ford Mustang Mach-E changing how we think about transportation. I managed to drive a lot of them, and as I went through my notes, I realized IÂ’ve got a mini memoir of the seminal EVs of 2021. HereÂ’s my take on eight of them. Hummer EV Easily the most over-the-top EV I tested this year. The 1,000-hp super truck lived up to the hype with its domineering presence, stupendous power and simply being a reincarnated Hummer. I took it for a short spin on- and off-road at the General Motors Proving Grounds in Milford, Mich., and was impressed with the airy cabin, removable sky panels and expansive touchscreens. Yes, I crab walked, which felt like steering a pontoon boat, though I can see why it would be useful. Lucid Air Dream Performance The most beautiful sedan I tested all year, EV or otherwise. Unlike the futuristic Mercedes EQS — which is quite attractive — LucidÂ’s car is a blend of mid-century modern interior aesthetics and classic European exterior styling. When I walked up for my test drive, someone who IÂ’m pretty sure was comedian Jon Lovitz was sitting inside and taking it all in. As it sat in the valet of a hotel in a wealthy suburban enclave north of Detroit, the Lucid drew more attention than any of the Mercedes, Cadillacs or Lexus models passing by. The driving experience was enveloping. Starting at $169,000 for the Performance model (reservations are closed), the Lucid I sampled packed 1,111 hp and 471 miles of range. From the precise steering to the comfortable suspension, the dynamics were spot-on. It's a formidable product, and all the more impressive given itÂ’s LucidÂ’s first. Chevy Bolt EV The Bolt was the most pleasant surprise for me. It handled well, offered low-to-the-ground hot hatch dynamics and the steering was dialed-in. Adding a crossover variant for the new generation was a smart play. On a summer morning where I went to a first drive of the Ford Bronco at an off-road course, my hour-long commute in the Bolt was an enjoyable appetizer.  The Bolt was also my biggest disappointment due to its extensive recalls for fire risk. Ironically, I had the Bolt in my driveway when the initial recall went out for the previous generation (2017-19).
