1980 Mercedes 450sel V8 Gorgeous 1 Family Owner Since New, 30,680 Miles! on 2040-cars
Naples, Florida, United States
1980 Mercedes 450 SEL with 4.5 liter V8 was purchased new by my father, and now owned by me. Car has always been kept garaged, and is completely original with only 30,680 miles! I have the original window sticker showing the optional electric sunroof (still works great) and removable rear headrests. In excellent running condition, motor runs perfect, car drives very smooth, and all systems work including A/C, power windows, AM/FM cassette Becker-Mexico radio. Paint is still very glossy and leather interior is nice (minor fading due to age, and a couple small repairs on rear seat back.) Tires have less than 2000 miles on them (spare is new.) Trunk looks like new. Original tool kit, first aid kit, and all manuals are included. Recent mechanical check by certified mechanic shows worn rubber bushing in steering column & slight wear in tie rod ends, consistent with age of vehicle. No other mechanical deficiencies found. Very minor ding in right rear passenger door is barely visible. Also small touch-up spot on rear right fender. Due to age, vehicle is sold as is, without warranty. This car has always been kept in the Southeastern US, never up North in the salt or snow! I would be happy to show it to any serious bidders. Car is garaged in Naples, Florida. This would be a wonderful car for a collector that appreciates a very low mileage, original unaltered Mercedes classic! |

Race Recap: 2013 Japanese Grand Prix flips several scripts [spoilers]
Mon, 14 Oct 2013Japan's Suzuka circuit is a great track that all the drivers love, but it doesn't usually provide the most thrilling, head-to-head racing. Where it does excel, however, is with surprises and "What just happened there?!" moments, and this year it was no different.
It started with Mark Webber in his Infiniti Red Bull Racing out-qualifying his teammate Sebastian Vettel for the first time this year. They were followed closely by Lewis Hamilton in the first Mercedes-AMG Petronas, the still-solid Romain Grosjean again outdoing teammate Kimi Räikkönen, Felipe Massa racing for another seat in Formula One and putting his Ferrari in fifth, then Nico Rosberg in the second Mercedes, Nico Hülkenberg in the first Sauber, Fernando Alonso in the second Ferrari, and Räikkönen continuing to do himself no favors by qualifying tenth.
For the second year in a row, the lights going out was the cue to start the first corner action...
Missouri Mercedes dealer offering free Smart with every SLS AMG purchase
Wed, 05 Dec 2012The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT is an exquisite sports car that probably needs no help flying off dealer lots, even with a starting price of almost $200,000, but Mercedes-Benz of Kansas City has come up with an interesting incentive to sweeten the deal. For buyers who purchase a new SLS AMG from dealer stock before the end of the year, the dealership is throwing in a new Smart Fortwo from its inventory at no charge... with a required coupon no less.
In addition to being a great tactic to get a little free press, the spare car also makes sense as an alternative to the SLS, which measures more than 15-feet long - almost twice the length of a Fortwo - and has a 563-horsepower engine that sucks down gas at the rate of 13 miles per gallon in city driving (and even that's provided you don't give in to the devil on your shoulder). Plus, at the end of the day, this really isn't that big of an incentive. Being given a slow-selling $12,490 car for the purchase of a model starting at $199,500 represents about a six percent incentive, which is along the lines of a $1,900 rebate for a $30,000 car.
To get the free Smart, just visit the Mercedes-Benz of Kansas City Facebook page, redeem the coupon and then go buy yourself a new SLS AMG. Congratulations!
Mercedes A-Class next up for facelift
Sun, Jan 11 2015This is the coming Mercedes-Benz A-Class, and in case the paucity of camouflage didn't make it clear, it won't look much different the one that's been on sale for all of two years. Caught in Sweden braving the temperatures, its exterior updates aren't expected to go much further than a reworked face that brings it in line with the recently updated B-Class, including a new grille, headlights and taillights, and bumpers. The cabin is where most of the work is being done, to give it a better punch against the BMW 1 Series. A tweaked dash cluster, better fabrics and materials, the eight-inch tablet-style nav/multimedia screen, and ambient lighting should join the party. The updated range of B-Class engines should also make the jump into the A. A photo caught at a dealer meeting in Barcelona last year makes us pretty sure it will be introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September this year. Until then, there are spy shots to peruse.
