1975 Mercedes 450SE 37,300 Original Miles Same Owners for Past 26 Years This has to be one of the best finds for one in search of the W
116 body type. As all Mercedes aficionados know, this is the shorter body
version of the 450 SEL. It is remarkably original and solid... there is
absolutely no doubt about the actual mileage. The current owners have enjoyed a total of less than 10,000
miles during their 26 years of stewardship. They purchased the car in Florida
from a close friend from their retirement community in 1987 with mileage at the
time of only about 28,000. The Pirelli tires are very deep with tread, however, because of
age, should be replaced. There were no major mechanic defects noted by the
seller and we invite your mechanical inspection to make sure you are
satisfied. The engine compartment, interior and trunk are as pictured, no
attempt has been made to clean or "detail" these areas for selling
purposes. The paint has just been polished. The original glove box "books/manuals" are

Mercedes-Benz GLA Concept gets mobbed in China
Sat, 20 Apr 2013If the reception it received at the Shanghai Motor Show is any judge of marketplace acceptance, Mercedes-Benz has a hit on its hands in the form of the GLA Concept. And we can understand why - we're quickly becoming fans of Mercedes' recent styling language, as defined by new models like the CLA and this GLA Concept.
The big news on the exterior front are the headlamp clusters, which have frickin' laser beams attached to their foreheads embedded inside that are capable of projecting videos and images on a screen. Plus, a pair of video cameras are mounted on the roof that can be used to capture driving excitement or removed and taken with you. How cool is that? We just hope they have a substantial locking mechanism to prevent would-be thievery...
If the exterior is mostly ready for production, with a few of the more outlandish elements moved to the trash bin - like, for instance, laser-beam headlamps and removable action cams - the interior is a true custom job that screams concept loud and clear. There are all kinds of jewel-like finishes inside, along with transparent surfaces showing what looks like metal latticework underneath and some awfully thick looking leather with massive exterior stitching done by hand similar to what you'd find on a baseball glove.
Mercedes-Benz killing Maybach in 2013, replacing with S600 Pullman
Fri, 25 Nov 2011According to an unnamed Mercedes-Benz source speaking with AutoWeek, the German automaker is killing off its Maybach line in 2013.
The unsurprising news comes after the brand was resurrected in 2002, but failed to meet sales expectations with its two core models, the Maybach 57 and 62. Further solidifying its fate, a deal with Aston Martin to aid in the development of future Maybachs fell through earlier this year.
According to the AutoWeek insider, the plan is to continue to sell both Maybach models through the end of 2013, after which the fifth-generation S-Class will go on sale. When that happens, three new variants of the S-Class will be available, including an all-new, range-topping S600 that brings back the Pullman moniker and may be better suited to competing with the likes of Bentley and Rolls-Royce.
