Terrific 1983 Mercedes Benz 300d Clean, Clean Car And Free Shipping on 2040-cars
Madison, Wisconsin, United States
Up for Auction, a car that's near and dear to my heart I am currently selling my prized 1983 Mercedes Benz 300D with a little over 250,000 miles. Everyone knows these Mercedes are built to run forever and this car is no exception. Brand new tires and ceramic brakes. The gentlemen I purchased this car from had all of his work done at the local Mercedes store so it is a solid car. Unfortunately for me I have had to commute to Chicago almost every weekend and with putting excessive mileage on my current lease I must get something more practical for a second car. I just don't want to put the mileage on this classic. The only thing that does not currently work in the car is the dash lights, which I believe is a solenoid behind the dash, I just haven't taken it in to be replaced since I rarely drive it at night. Other then that everything else works top knotch, including the massive sunroof. I love this car and will be sad to let it go...but it is currently being stored in a friends garage and I rarely drive it. I did add a pretty nice after market stereo that works excellently and is wired correctly to car in which it turns on when car is in accessory mode. These cars seem to get gobbled up quickly, I had to search about 7 months to get this one, here is your chance to own a rare classic!!! Due to my extensive mileage per month I need a small fuel efficient car that I can put tons of miles on. So my loss is your gain. The headliner was drooping, so I did replace it with a wood strip option, it is removable but I liked it. I know its not for everyone but made me smile while I drove the car. I will provide the vin number and a picture of the interior new headliner within a couple of hours after this auction is posted.
FREE SHIPPING!!!!!!!!!!!!! As described above I will personally deliver this vehicle 200 miles free of charge upon completion of this auction, now you have no excuse to own this car!! Good luck bidding and feel free to ask any questions. |

Sunday Drive: And now for something completely different
Sun, Dec 17 2017This past week played host to a wide assortment of automotive news, highlighted by our first drive of the 2018 Volvo XC40. The Swedish crossover is targeted at young, successful Millennials, but it offers cool styling, fun dynamics, and all of today's must-have technology, so we think it ought to appeal to a much wider swath of the automotive marketplace. From there we answer the question, "What are hard on the outside and soft on the inside?" as we take a look at the next Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV. We expect the German automaker's flagship luxury SUV to remain boxy on the outside, but the interior is going to be soft, supple, and luxurious. And then there's the Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid, which starts at starts at $34,290 and boasts 212 total system horsepower, 232 pound-feet of torque, 47 miles of electric driving range, and a total range of 340 miles. EPA rates it at 110 MPGe in EV mode, and 44 city/40 highway/42 combined overall. We compare it to other plug-ins like the Chevy Volt and Toyota Prius Prime. And finally we have some more spy photos of the 2019 Ram 1500. It doesn't have a traditional crosshair grille, but it's got plenty of chrome and an attractive upright stance that's sure to tempt future truck buyers looking for some sophistication to go with their work gloves. As always, stay tuned to Autoblog this week to see all the automotive news that's fit to print. 2018 Volvo XC40 First Drive Review | The Masspirational crossover Mercedes-Benz G-Class gets the luxe, high-tech treatment 2018 Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid Review | It's what's on the inside that counts 2019 Ram 1500 shows chrome grille and more production parts Green Honda Mercedes-Benz RAM Volvo Technology Truck Crossover SUV Luxury Performance Sedan volvo xc40 sunday drive
Audi and Mercedes both outsell BMW in January
Tue, Feb 10 2015There won't be any celebrations in Munich this month, as BMW was outsold by arch-nemeses Audi and Mercedes-Benz. The Bavarian company finished behind Audi in January, which took the top spot for the first time since June of last year, Bloomberg reports. Ingolstadt rode high on a 10-percent bump in sales, while Mercedes saw a larger 14 percent increase. BMW, meanwhile, only saw a modest 6.3-percent sales increase last month, thanks in large part to its struggles in China. The company's sales there increased at about half the rate of its chief competitors, with a 7.9-percent jump to Mercedes and Audi's roughly 15-percent increases. Perhaps more worrying for BMW, though, is that this could become something of a trend for the company. According to Bloomberg, issues with Chinese dealers who cancelled orders over sales targets and bonuses combined with what the publication calls aging models, could spell bad news for the German marque. "This looks like a pretty significant decline in growth compared to Mercedes and Audi," Bankhaus Metzler analyst Juergen Pieper told Bloomberg. "I think this will continue during the next few months." News Source: BloombergImage Credit: Matthias Schrader / AP Earnings/Financials Audi BMW Mercedes-Benz
Mercedes says it's tops in luxury sales for 2012, not BMW
Tue, 19 Feb 2013It turns out that Mercedes-Benz North America has legitimate claim to being the top selling luxury nameplate in the US in 2012.
While sources such as Autodata had put BMW in the top spot, registration data from R.L. Polk shows that Mercedes customers registering new vehicles topped the Bavarian automaker in the most recent calendar year. Polk says Benz posted 274,123 registrations, compared with BMW's 268,498.
In terms of sales posted, BMW had bested Benz 281,460 to 274,134. But sales are recorded somewhat inconsistently from automaker to automaker. Some book the sales as soon as they are shipped from factory to dealer. There is perennial gamesmanship between the two German rivals, and the sales numbers suggest that BMW pushed out some extra sheetmetal to dealers in the last four weeks of the year.
