Wow!!!! This beautiful Mercedes 300 SE has incredibly low original miles for the year, 102,xxx and is in OUTSTANDING condition inside and out. This car has a clean and clear title in hand also has a clean Carfax history. This car was my father's pride and joy and its appearance will prove it. He is the 2nd owner since 1996. The paint has a spectacular gloss; it is very evident this car has spent it's life in the garage. The color is unique in my opinion and I don't see it often. It reminds me of a metallic cigar color, not the regular bronze or gold that many of the W126 have. This car has been regularly detailed from top to bottom and you can eat off of any part of the car! The chromed rims and brakes are in good condition, and I cannot think of anything off the top of my head that the car needs. The car has the "indestructible" (as many mercedes enthusiast like to call it) 3.0L in line six engine and gets good mpg., not the gas guzzler V8 engine many of them have. Also, the car has genuine leather interior, not the half MB TEX half leather that most have, and call leather even though it is really vinyl. The leather is in spectacular condition, and shows only minimal to no signs of wear. The dash is in perfect condition. The car also has the factory radio cassette (needs code, the battery was disconnected) and 10 speaker premium sound system that is pre-wired for a 10 disc CD changer. Has all original books, manuals, service booklet with service records and its original untouched first aid kit and the tool set. All power windows, sunroof, power seats are functioning without any problems. The power antenna for the radio works great, all lights, hazard lights and directionals work properly. The engine an transmission are in excellent condition. Please note that this car is not your regular daily driver that you see around town and has sun damage, the seats are ripped and the paint is oxidized. This car is the exact opposite of the typical used car, and is truly in fantastic shape. I hate my time being wasted, and will not waste yours. This car runs strong and shifts smoothly and it is truly in outstanding cosmetic condition. This is the needle in the haystack, a true NO DISAPPOINTMENT car. Please note that the car is 22 years old and it might have minor scratches and dings, nothing major and I can take pics. or video of them. Carfax available. AS IS!!!!!!!! Mileage subject to change depending upon test drives.
More Pics  and video available upon request. I would like to apologize about the pics. Quality! They were taken with an IPhone and I'm not a professional photographer. ; ) Buyer pays all shipping costs! Happy bidding and good luck!!!!

Volvo S60 Polestar concept plays in the snow with Mercedes C63 AMG

    Thu, 24 Jan 2013

Chris Harris took to a snowy stretch of tarmac to get a fingertips-on-the-wheel feel of the Volvo S60 Polestar concept. Harris says the turbocharged sedan with 508 horsepower and 424 pound-feet of torque - and a manual transmission - is "a study to see if Volvo can get back into the fast-car market." The Polestar S60 concept, one of which was already purchased for $300,000 by a private buyer, is still making the publicity rounds because even Volvo's Chinese owners realize that, as Harris says, "Volvo sold more cars because it made fast cars" like the old 850 T5 Wagon that stormed the British Touring Car Championship in the 1990s.
For reference, Harris compares the blue wonder to the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG and its 487 hp and 442 lb-ft. The question is, were Volvo to get the price of a production version of the S60 Polestar to climb way down from its 200,000-pound sticker, could it be worthy competition to the established giants?
You can watch Harris divine the answer via a lot of drifting through the snow and a drag race in the video below.

Why we can't have better headlights here in the U.S.

    Tue, Mar 13 2018

It wouldn't be a European auto show if we weren't teased with at least one mainstream vehicle we can't have here. At the Geneva Motor Show last week, the small but vocal contingent of shooting-brake buffs lamented that the Mazda6 wagon won't be coming to our shores, although they can take comfort in the fact that the vehicle won't get the torquey 250-horsepower 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine we'll get here. Mercedes-Benz also announced a new headlight technology in Geneva that likely won't be available here anytime soon. It's just the latest in a long line of innovative and potentially lifesaving front-lighting solutions that the federal government doesn't allow in this country due to outdated standards — and a current lack of leadership at the U.S. Department of Transportation. Mercedes-Benz's new Digital Light system that debuted in Geneva uses a computer chip to activate more than a million micro-reflectors to better illuminate the road ahead. The Digital Light headlamps works with the vehicle's cameras, sensors and navigation mapping to adjust lighting for the given location and situation and to detect other road users. The Digital Light technology also serves as an extended head-up display of sorts by projecting symbols on the pavement ahead to alert drivers to, say, slippery conditions or pedestrians in the road. And it can even project lines on the road in a construction zone or through tight curves to show the driver the correct path. Digital Light will be available on Mercedes-Maybach vehicles later this year, although like any technology it's bound to trickle down to less expensive vehicles. That is, if we ever get it here in the U.S. Audi, a leader in automotive lighting, has repeatedly run into snags trying to bring state-of-the-art car headlights to the U.S. The German luxury automaker's recently introduced matrix laser headlight system, which performs many of the same trick as Mercedes-Benz's Digital Light, also isn't legal on U.S. roads. And five years after the introduction of its matrix-beam LED lighting, which illuminates more of the road without blinding oncoming motorists with brights by simultaneously operating high and low beams, Audi still can't bring that technology to the U.S. either.

Chicago Car2Go app reportedly hacked, some 100 cars missing

    Wed, Apr 17 2019

Car2Go launched in Chicago in the summer of 2018, with 400 Daimler cars rolled out on the Windy City streets soon after. But that big fleet just took a big hit: The car-sharing app has now reportedly been hacked, and some 100 cars have been stolen as a result. CBS Chicago is reporting that some of the missing cars have been used to commit crimes. It is yet unclear what the hacking has exactly enabled the perps to do, but the compromised app appears to have opened the doors and given the thieves free rein with easily stolen cars. Within Chicago, there is a 29 square mile area where the vehicles were supposed to be dropped off, but they haven't been limited from exiting that zone at any point. The Chicago Car2Go fleet started out with Smart ForTwo cars and bigger Mercedes-Benz CLA/GLA models; we can imagine the ForTwos are a touch slight for any ram raiding, but an escape car that can vanish in a crowd of other shared Smart cars seems handy for misuse. To address the matter, Car2Go froze its Chicago operations today, saying it is "neutralizing a fraud issue and working together with law enforcement." No personal or confidential user info is said to have been compromised. CBS Chicago's Brad Edwards tweeted today that 12 people have been taken into custody so far, with the story developing as we speak.
