Selling my 300SDL aka Hilda.......if you ever owned a classic126 benz you know these cars are the reason Mercedes full size got to be where they are now. This model was world famous among leaders, diplomats, and the wealthy. Hand built 100% down to the lug nuts so longevity is behind these models. I'm the 3rd owner. The first was a architect out of NY and always maintained and garaged. The second had for 1 year and could not afford it due to some needed repairs. Third is me. When I bought it needed several repairs and now is a gem. It's black on black. Repainted 3 years back. I've updated the black leather interior from a 1991 560SEL completely from the dashboard that has no cracks or fade spots to the floor carpet. The passenger side seat has a small tear to the size of a nickel. The sliding moon roof needs a motor EZ fix. The a/c works well. The trans was replaced from a 1993 350SD with 76k this is a better and much stronger unit 722-367 is the u it number. New flex discs. Rebuilt cylinder head with timing chain and rails with tensioner. Rebuilt injection pump with all injectors glow plug relay. New glow plug wiring harness. Starter and alternator and battery. New vacuum pump. Belt tensioner and vibration damper. Suspension bearing brackets both sides. Ball joints. Control arms. Shift leaver bushings.
New windshield. Turbo replaced under the trap oxidizer recall in 2004. Brakes done 2012 with discs. Rear brake hoses. Michelin symmetry with 7/32 left. All the windows work perfectly. Both front regulators and window motors replaced. Central locking system pump replaced. I did all the repairs myself so they were done with pride and precision. All parts are oem from World Pac. I forgot to mention front and rear shocks are new as well. Any questions 727-776-3572

Autoblog drives to the Arctic Circle
Fri, 22 Mar 2013In Which Mercedes' Sprinter Becomes A Long-Distance Sherpa
In the wintery wilds of northern Alaska, even the cute little critters want to kill you.
As I am about to nod off on my long leg flight from Minneapolis to Anchorage ahead of driving to the Arctic Circle, the friendly twenty-something Alaskan knitting furiously in the seat next to me pauses and says, "When you're driving up there, don't open your windows." In the dead of winter? I hadn't planned on cruising alfresco, but her warning to keep the glazing snugged against the weatherstripping is one I would take to heart. She continues: "If you leave 'em open, a fox is liable to jump right in. There are lots of rabid foxes up there, and they leap into your car and just Go. To. Town." And here I was, thinking that a curious bear or maybe an ill-placed moose in the road was going to be my biggest potential four-legged threat. In the wintery wilds of northern Alaska, even the cute little critters want to kill you.
Mercedes AMG and Cigarette Racing debut 2,220-HP electric motor boat
Thu, 14 Feb 2013Take the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG E-Cell, stretch it and take off the wheels then make it float and you've basically got the just-unveiled Cigarette AMG Electric Drive Concept. Powered by an all-electric powertrain that offers 2,200 horsepower and 2,213 pound-feet of torque (and uses "numerous components" taken from the not-quite-as-yellow SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive), the sleek concept is being called the "world's most powerful electric drive powerboat." What that means is a top speed of over 100 miles per hour from four 60-kWh lithium-ion batteries and two banks of six liquid-cooled, permanent-magnet synchronous electric motors. And the 240 kWh of total energy should provide plenty of juice out on the water.
Launched (but not literally) at the Miami International Boat Show today, the Cigarette AMG Electric Drive Concept is the result of a partnership between Mercedes-AMG and Cigarette Racing. The boat is 38 feet long (much longer than the 15-foot SLS) and is plastered with AMG branding on the sides and top of the bow above the matte chrome yellow paint (officially called AMG Electricbeam mango). Two 220-kW chargers can refill the batteries, dockside, in about seven hours.
The idea of a powerful electric boat is nothing new (Henrik Fisker talked about a plug-in hybrid watercraft late last year), but this is the first time we've seen Mercedes put its EV technology on the water. Anyone who's afraid of driving an EV in the rain should take note. Check out the complete press release below.
Mercedes-Benz GLA Concept gets mobbed in China
Sat, 20 Apr 2013If the reception it received at the Shanghai Motor Show is any judge of marketplace acceptance, Mercedes-Benz has a hit on its hands in the form of the GLA Concept. And we can understand why - we're quickly becoming fans of Mercedes' recent styling language, as defined by new models like the CLA and this GLA Concept.
The big news on the exterior front are the headlamp clusters, which have frickin' laser beams attached to their foreheads embedded inside that are capable of projecting videos and images on a screen. Plus, a pair of video cameras are mounted on the roof that can be used to capture driving excitement or removed and taken with you. How cool is that? We just hope they have a substantial locking mechanism to prevent would-be thievery...
If the exterior is mostly ready for production, with a few of the more outlandish elements moved to the trash bin - like, for instance, laser-beam headlamps and removable action cams - the interior is a true custom job that screams concept loud and clear. There are all kinds of jewel-like finishes inside, along with transparent surfaces showing what looks like metal latticework underneath and some awfully thick looking leather with massive exterior stitching done by hand similar to what you'd find on a baseball glove.
