1987 300D turbo diesel. This is the one year only diesel that is one of the best cars MB made.
Has the powerful inline 6 also used in the S class cars but only in 87 was it available in the E class 124 body.
Three years ago the car was converted to also run on vegetable oil with an Elsbett kit. Has all new fuel lines, two heaters, and the electronics needed for the system. All was professionally installed.
Will run on any combination of diesel biodiesel or vegi oil. It is currently running Biodiesel but has run SVO and the system works great.
The car is stock with the exception of European headlights and front turn signal lenses.
Has both original keys(two of the same key) that work all the locks. All doors and the truck lock as they should.
Power windows work except for the right rear. Might be a fuse but haven't looked into it.
The rest of the electrical system in in good order. The gas gauge could use a new sending unit. below a half a tank it is not accurate.
Has been used to travel from Fresno to Seattle many times so the millage is high. Still runs strong and has lots of miles left.
Engine has never been overheated and always runs cool.
Comes with original owners manual and stack of receipts from work done over the last 20 years.
Interior is in good condition. One small tear on the driver's seat and a few cracks in the dash. Headliner is nice and the door panels look good. Sunroof works great and has no leaks. All the window seals are also good, never had any water come into the car.
Body is in good shape with all original paint. One small spot of primer just below the trunk were a dent was removed. A few minor dents on the car the most noticeable in on the middle edge of the front left fender.
Body and chassis have no rust.
Three tires are very nice front left is worn but still has some tread left.
Has clean title and current registration good til Dec 2014.
Battery is less than 2 years old and car starts right up every time.
Has newer stereo with CD player, custom sub-woofer and amp mounted in the trunk. Speakers have also been replaced and the stereo sounds great even at high volumes. Also has a control for the sub-woofer lever mounted by the center console.
All the glass is original and in good shape but the windshield does have a few chips.
Car must be picked up within two weeks of the end of the auction unless other arrangements are made. I can help with delivery to a local auto transport company if needed.
Call 510-533-4416 with any questions or to set up a time to see the car.

These are the 'Greenest' and 'Meanest' cars in 2015
Fri, Feb 6 2015As has become tradition, the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) has come up with a ranking of what it refers to as the "greenest" cars of 2015, and, by way of contrast, a list of the so-called "meanest" cars, so those who value eco-friendliness over all else can choose which vehicles they should or should not consider buying. As you may expect, electric cars make up the majority of the greenest cars on the list, but, perhaps surprisingly to many, the Tesla Model S didn't make the cut. It's worth noting, too, that where the electricity an owner uses to charge their electric vehicle has a big impact on its overall environmental impact. "A car that is charged using electricity generated from natural gas or renewables is going to have significantly less impact on the environment than one charged on a coal-heavy grid," says ACEEE lead vehicle analyst Shruti Vaidyanathan. The ACEEE's list for 2015 looks very different than it did in 2014. It's an interesting collection, though – and we're sure this goes without saying, really – we'd recommend doing a bit more research into each vehicle and how it might fit into your daily life before making any purchase decisions. Brabus 800 Roadster is a power-mad aristocrat
Wed, 06 Mar 2013If we're being completely honest, we haven't exactly been in love with the aesthetics of the sixth-generation Mercedes-Benz SL-Class. It's mostly a front-end issue, with its glowering eagle-eye headlamps and upright, dinner-plate-sized Three-Pointed Star coming across to us as overwrought. That's particularly troublesome for a roadster whose history has of the most elegant designs of all time in its back catalog. Somehow, the new R231 generation's brash visuals seem more at home on this Brabus 800 Roadster to us.
That's probably because the high-dollar German tuner has turned up the wick on the SL's visuals even further, with carbon fiber bodywork, a more aggressive aero kit, matte hood scoop and complex two-finish wheels. It's all-the-way committed to its brashness, in other words - and justifiably so. Anything with 800 horsepower and 1,047 pound-feet of torque has earned the right to look however it wants, right?
Brabus started with the SL65 and its not-exactly-underpowered 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12, and went to town, fitting their own turbocharger and intercooler system, along with a less-restrictive exhaust system with driver-selectable sound levels and new engine electronics. The result is a 3.7-second 0-62 mph time, an electronically limited top whack of 217 mph... and one seriously compromised toupée.
Mercedes-Maybach Pullman stretches its way to Geneva
Wed, Feb 18 2015Mercedes-Benz is known the world over for producing luxury automobiles, but even among Benzes there's a hierarchy. The S-Class sits at the top of the Mercedes range, the Maybach at the top of the S-Class, and what you see here sits at the top of the Maybach line. It's the new Pullman limousine, and it arrives on the 50th anniversary of the original. Stretching a massive 21.3 feet, the new Mercedes-Maybach Pullman is even longer than the previous Maybach 62 by a full foot, and a good 3.5 feet longer than the standard-wheelbase Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, or two feet longer than the G63 AMG 6x6. In other terms, it's over a foot longer than the Rolls-Royce Phantom EWB, and the better part of a yard longer than even the Cadillac Escalade ESV. Heck, you could just about fit Benz's other flagship, the Mercedes-AMG GT, inside the new Pullman's 14.5-foot wheelbase. As if that's not enough, it also stands 3.9 inches higher than a standard S-Class to the benefit of its imposing presence and interior space. Should you be so fortunate as to be graced with an invitation to step inside, you'd find an interior entirely clad in leather with four seats: two recliners and two fold-down seats facing backwards. Those principal rear seats can recline between 19 and 43.5 degrees and offer an extensive array of individual adjustments to cater just-so to the occupants' individual preferences. Ingress and egress are enabled by larger rear doors that open in front of – instead of next to – those rear seats to enhance the privacy of the traveling dignitaries, who will be able to monitor the state of affairs through the analog thermometer, speedometer and clock mounted in the roof liner. They'll also enjoy privacy thanks to the electrically operated glass partition wall with an 18.5-inch monitor mounted in front of it and a choice of Burmester sound systems. Long the favorite of heads of state and captains of industry, the new Pullman will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show now just weeks away. We don't doubt that Mercedes will offer its customers a choice of engine options (as long as they're capable of motivating the new Pullman's assuredly substantial heft), but most suitable to the task will of course be the 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 with its 523 horsepower and 612 pound-feet of torque.
