SL-Class 8 cyl Automatic Convertible Gorgeous 1985 Mercedes 380SL – Three-owner
–California car with Major Maintenance Out-of-the-Way. This lovingly and well-kept, accident-free, three-owner, 115,000 mile
car has its original hood emblem, windows and many interior features. It comes with two remote control locks for
the both doors and the trunk. The beautiful original dash has just one small
crack that is not easily seen on the top and everything working as it should.
The interior has always been smoke-free and is in fabulous condition with clean
carpet and door panels. It includes a
set of after-market cup holders in the console. The radio and automatic antenna
work perfectly, and the car has a DVD player located in the trunk. It
also has 2 emergency boxes, a car cover, a stand for the removable hard top
that is in wonderful condition. Many cars do not have the detachable wind screen
that comes with mine although it has one small tear. The car has been well maintained and it has all of its books, paperwork
and tools and extensive documentation. It is an amazing value to find a
car in this condition, driven less than 4,000 miles per year that ALREADY HAS
THE EXPENSIVE TIMING CHAIN WORK REQUIRED AFTER THE 110,000 MILE POINT OUT OF
THE WAY!! Recent repairs include new exhaust system, new valves, new brakes and
the new timing chain with related work. The engine is extremely strong with no
oil leaks, the transmission shifts smoothly with no noise and the exhaust system
has been fully replaced. The AC has also been replaced recently and blows cold, switching from
heat to cold with no issues. The 380SL has never been in an accident; its been
garaged in California its whole life and shows no rust anywhere. It
has an extremely clean undercarriage. Without a doubt, this is one of the finest classically beautiful
roadster designs built by Mercedes-Benz. You will look long and hard to find a
SL380 car with only 115K original miles, driven less than 4,000 miles per year
and has the major maintenance work already out of the way. This is the
last and best year of the 380SL The body on this car is in great shape. The two small flaws shown in the
photos include a small dent below the right tail light and a cracked left tail
light. A former boyfriend found the car for me 3.5 yrs ago and I bought it for
our road trips. It’s only been driven16K miles since owning. After we split up I don’t like to take it out
alone and that is the reason I’m selling this beautiful car that I have
invested so much in repair work. Questions, please call Ketti at 323-284-8555. Life is too short to
drive an ordinary car! |

2018 Range Rover Sport Coupe spied in Scotland
Wed, Jun 8 2016Sport utility vehicles are the rage. SUVs with coupe styling are pretty popular, too, as BMW and Mercedes have demonstrated. Now it's Land Rover's turn. Believed to be the upcoming Range Rover Sport Coupe, this ute was spied this week during top secret testing at a remote location in Scotland. The vehicle would slot between the Range Rover Sport and Evoque, giving Land Rover an answer to the Mercedes GLE and BMW X6. These shots show what appears to be a chopped roofline, giving the new model a sportier profile than the traditional upright silhouette of Rovers. We expect it will use a version of the aluminum Jaguar F-Pace platform and offer V6 and V8 engines. It could also offer a hybrid or full electric version. The new crossover might also be lower set in a bid to differentiate it from traditional Rovers and give it a performance vibe. The Range Rover Sport Coupe – or whatever it is ultimately called – would enter a strong segment that's found favor in the United States. Once derided for potentially offering less function than traditional utes, these lifestyle vehicles have developed a strong following for their style and capability. The X6 was so successful, BMW added the smaller X4, and this forced Mercedes to follow suit with the GLE and GLC coupe variants. In this context, it's about time for Land Rover to join the fray. A car writer's year in new vehicles [w/video]
Thu, Dec 18 2014Christmas is only a week away. The New Year is just around the corner. As 2014 draws to a close, I'm not the only one taking stock of the year that's we're almost shut of. Depending on who you are or what you do, the end of the year can bring to mind tax bills, school semesters or scheduling dental appointments. For me, for the last eight or nine years, at least a small part of this transitory time is occupied with recalling the cars I've driven over the preceding 12 months. Since I started writing about and reviewing cars in 2006, I've done an uneven job of tracking every vehicle I've been in, each year. Last year I made a resolution to be better about it, and the result is a spreadsheet with model names, dates, notes and some basic facts and figures. Armed with this basic data and a yen for year-end stories, I figured it would be interesting to parse the figures and quantify my year in cars in a way I'd never done before. The results are, well, they're a little bizarre, honestly. And I think they'll affect how I approach this gig in 2015. {C} My tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015 it'll be as high as 73. Let me give you a tiny bit of background about how automotive journalists typically get cars to test. There are basically two pools of vehicles I drive on a regular basis: media fleet vehicles and those available on "first drive" programs. The latter group is pretty self-explanatory. Journalists are gathered in one location (sometimes local, sometimes far-flung) with a new model(s), there's usually a day of driving, then we report back to you with our impressions. Media fleet vehicles are different. These are distributed to publications and individual journalists far and wide, and the test period goes from a few days to a week or more. Whereas first drives almost always result in a piece of review content, fleet loans only sometimes do. Other times they serve to give context about brands, segments, technology and the like, to editors and writers. So, adding up the loans I've had out of the press fleet and things I've driven at events, my tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015, it'll be as high as 73. At one of the buff books like Car and Driver or Motor Trend, reviewers might rotate through five cars a week, or more. I know that number sounds high, but as best I can tell, it's pretty average for the full-time professionals in this business.
