Corvallis, Oregon, United States

Okay quick synopsis: The car runs and drive down the road and I’m using it as a daily driver. But it has some problems:

The bad:

Left cv axle needs replaced (boot torn)

Rear windshield leaks, front windshield leaked but was successfully stopped with silicone

Transmission likes to pop out of 1st and 3rd gear. 4th gear works fine. 2nd is okay

Cycle glow plugs twice for faster startups.

Engine does burn/leak oil a bit. Replaced oil pan seal about a year ago

Driver seat could use some repairs, it has tears in the leather.

Sunroof doesn’t work, it is siliconed sealed. No leaks

I lost my keys for the car. I only have the ignition key now. The other keys were different, so you’ll probably have to get new locks that go with the VIN number.  The car came with three different keys and I think it should only have one. Maybe two if you had the valet key. The ignition key might be original with the VIN don’t know. I took off the inside trunk latch mechanism so the trunk is accessible but still held down internally by a bungy cord.

Right rear brakes seems to be hanging up. I replaced the brakes, calipers, rotors on all for

and still likes to hang up sometimes. Might be the parking brake system giving me some grief.

 No instrument lights

Has good spare tire and jack, but for some reason I can’t find the lug nut wrench. I’m tossing in a 1/2 torque wrench to use just bring your 11/16 socket =)

A/C equipped, quit working about a year ago

 Cruise Control equipped, doesn’t work

Missing wood trim around the fresh air vent slider control

Wood trim on glove box needs to be re glued back onto box door. Flops around.

The good:

Tires are 1 year old. Les Schwab brand

Manual windows (for some its good)

New tie rods, new front shocks (bilsteins)

 Les Schwab tire chains

Replaced all brake calipers, all rotors, all pads, and master cylinder.

 Replaced slave cylinder for clutch

Replaced both flex discs about a year ago

 Fog lights work

 New drive belts

 Battery a few months old

Leather is mostly in very good condition

 Dashboard is only slightly cracked

I hope this list will give you an idea of what you might be in for. If your close to Corvallis we can arrange pickup maybe during the week evening time, Sunday works best Saturday 2nd best. If your farther away or out of state Sundays would be best, Saturday 2nd best. Sold as is. Its my daily driver so odometer mileage subject to change. Thanks for reading all of this!

2015 Brazilian Grand Prix is the same as it ever was

Mon, Nov 16 2015

At this point, we hope Nico Rosberg is planning to carry his current qualifying form into the 2016 season and back it up with the same kind of race-day cojones he showed winning the race in Mexico City two weeks ago. The Mercedes-AMG Petronas driver got it right enough again on Saturday afternoon to take his fifth consecutive pole position ahead of teammate Lewis Hamilton by almost a tenth of a second. It's the same one-two from Brazil last year. The bad news for the rest of the field is that the winner in Brazil the last seven years has been one of the two drivers on the front row. Last year it was the Williams duo that lined up behind Mercedes, this year it's Ferrari. Sebastian Vettel plays the stalking horse, securing third in his Ferrari ahead of teammate Kimi Raikkonen in fourth. Williams driver Valtteri Bottas actually qualified in fourth, but he had to serve a three-spot grid penalty for passing under red flags in Free Practice 2, so he started sixth. That promoted Sahara Force India driver Nico Hulkenberg up to fifth. Daniil Kvyat was the quickest representative from Infiniti Red Bull Racing, getting into seventh even with a Renault power unit that's weak on some of the key stretches at the Interlagos track. Felipe Massa had the second Williams in eighth, in front of the second Red Bull driven by Daniel Ricciardo in ninth. Toro Rosso hasn't confirmed its drivers for next year but Max Verstappen keeps making it hard to look elsewhere, taking 10th. Rosberg is working nearly the same trick he pulled last year: drive like a second driver for most of the year, drive like a world champion for the last quarter of a season. He pulled away at the start and covered Hamilton just enough on the run to the first corner to keep Hamilton on the outside. By the end of Turn 1 the German had the lead and didn't give it up for the rest of the race outside of pit stops. Without overwhelming pace to pass and unable to follow closely, Hamilton could do nothing except ask his team for a different strategy to go for the win. When Mercedes told him "No," trying to protect Rosberg's second place in the championship ahead of Vettel, that was the race. Just like last year, Rosberg and Hamilton finished one-two. Vettel, Raikkonen, Bottas, Hulkenberg, and Kvyat drove lonely races to finish in positions three through seven.

Mercedes teases massive new Maybach coupe

Wed, Aug 10 2016

Mercedes-Benz hasn't done a lot with its Maybach brand over the last few years. After killing the slow-selling standalone Maybach line, the badge sat unused, until MB slapped it on a luxed-out S600. But today, Mercedes posted a teaser of a new, two-door Maybach on its social media channels. Immediately given away by the Maybach badge on the C-pillar (and possibly one on the nose), we could be looking at a modern-day Exelero – a successor to Maybach's last coupe, a one-off, 700-horsepower rocket ship that deserved all the Darth Vader's car cliches – capable of extremely high speeds and stunning comfort. Everything from the long hood (better to accommodate some monstrous V12 engine) to the windshield's aggressive rake, to the absurdly long tail, signals a 200-mile-per-hour-plus top speed for this concept. And yes, we're thinking this is a concept. Kick the exposure way up with Photoshop and you can see that the side mirrors are too slim to actually function as normal mirrors – they're almost certainly cameras. Other details? Whatever Mercedes calls its new Maybach, it's going to be huge. According to the caption accompanying the teaser, this car is six meters (19.6 feet) long – that's over three feet longer than an S-Class Coupe and nearly four feet longer than a Bentley Continental GT. Like we said, it's enormous. And that's about all we know. Mercedes dropped this teaser out of the blue, nearly two months before the auto show season kicks off in Paris. It's possible the company could continue to tease out a new Maybach concept until early October, but more likely, we'll see an online debut ahead of the Paris show. Stay tuned. Maybach officially discontinues all models for 2013

Tue, 14 Aug 2012

The word "Maybach" has joined the long list of synonyms for the word "kaput." Mercedes-Benz released the price list for the 2013 models of its super-luxury sedans, with the price column simply stating "Discontinued" for each one of them.
The 2012 models, should there be any left for 11th-hour buyers, maintain the increased MSRPs that Daimler slapped on them late last year after it was known the brand would be terminated next year. But you might still be able to wrangle that $100,000 rebate if you ask nicely, or in Russian, or have Rick Ross ask for you.
It shouldn't be too long before we see the ultimate version of the next generation S-Class, the S600 Pullman, that will replace Maybach. Intriguingly, it's said the Pullman will be offered with every S-Class engine, even the four-cylinder diesel.
