For sale is a 1981 Mercedes Benz 300D. Finished in Astral Silver Metallic which was the color first introduced on the Mercedes 300sl Gullwing. Interior color is a Twin Pacific Blue Mercedes Benz textile. There have been many recent improvements to this classic Mercedes. The engine and many other systems were restored at 200,000 miles and i have recently spent $3,000.00 on parts and maintenance at the Mercedes dealership in anticipation for the sale. This car was also celebrity owned and for its entire life has been kept in a temperature controlled garage. The Mercedes classic center would be jealous of this car, and i have received many compliments from my local Mercedes Benz club members on the condition! Anyone who knows Mercedes diesels knows this is the real deal. The W123 is refered to by most as the best Mercedes EVER!!! If you are looking for a stunning 1980's Mercedes then look no further! This is the real McCoy and has many more decades of life left in it.
As you can see by the pictures this car has been babied its entire life. This car was consistently stored for all winter months and always had a fresh coat of wax. For the full list of refurbishments please call me but here are a few. Professional detailing, new Bosch car battery, new hood insulation pad, all correct maintenance services for the mileage including oil change, valve adjustment, motor mounts, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, injection pump cleaning service, fuel treatment, and all bulbs were checked and replaced. The last owner was so OCD and meticulous about maintenance that he actually had a pair of wrenches custom bent to mimic the ones from the dealership so he could do his own valve adjustments. I have an extra set of navy blue mats and some cup holders that i am also including. Comes with three distinct Mercedes keys and handy dandy bottle opener.
There are no rips in the seats or carpets and even though it is an older vehicle is more comfortable to ride in than many modern day cars. Engine starts right up in hot or cold weather, transmission shifts effortlessly. Check out my videos, just email me for the links!!! I do a walk around of the car and i get in start it and take it for a spin.
I have all my receipts(even more then were in the pictures) from the maintenance and tons of repair records and extra information on this W123. This Mercedes is in amazing condition for its age, but is not without minor blemishes. There is a minor dent in the back left quarter panel and some paint chipped off in two small places near the fuel door. Both spots are smaller then my pinky fingernail. Clean auto check/Carfax and title, and i will be happy to overnight the title to the new owner as soon as receipt of payment is received. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to give me a call 484-885-3168 or send me an email.
This car is sold as is where is with no warranties expressed or implied and i will require a signed bill of sale for insurance purposes before the car ships out. As far as shipping is concerned any expenses are the responsibility of the buyer but i may be able to give some direction on which shippers to use depending on your location. I will expect full payment within 72 hours of purchase by either cash in person, bank wire transfer or certified bank check. Pickup of vehicle should be within two weeks of purchase unless another arrangement is made. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time and charge a storage fee if pickup is delayed without permission of the seller. Again please don't hesitate to call or email!!!
Thanks,
Nate :)

Did BMW really win the luxury car sales race?
Sun, Feb 14 2016As anyone who follows our monthly By The Numbers series already knows, the luxury car sales race in the United States was close all of last year as BMW, Lexus and Mercedes-Benz seesawed up and down for sales supremacy. At the end of the year, it was BMW on top of the standings with 346,023 total sales. Or was it? According to data released by Polk, comparing the actual number of vehicles registered between the three top luxury players in the US paints a slightly different picture. Polk's data suggests that only 335,259 BMWs were registered in 2015, compared to 340,392 Lexus models. Why the disparity? It's all a matter of timing. Actual end consumers buy new cars, in almost all cases, from a franchised dealer. BMW delivered 346,023 vehicles in 2015, but only 335,259 of them were registered by their new owners. Presumably, those 11,000 BMWs did (or will) end up registered in the driveways of consumers, but they hadn't before January 1, 2016. Lexus General Manager Jeff Bracken wrote in an email to Automotive News, "Luxury sales leadership as measured by vehicle registrations is important to Lexus as it represents actual consumers engaging directly with our dealers." Of course, it goes without saying that we'll be paying keen attention to the 2016 luxury car sales race as it unfolds. If it's anything like it was in 2015, it'll come down to the wire, and even then may not be entirely clear. Mercedes was set to sell version of Nissan Titan, now Infiniti might instead
Wed, 18 Sep 2013Mercedes-Benz Titan. Mercedes-Benz Frontier. Mercedes-Benz pickup truck. None of these things roll off the tongue particularly well. We'd like to think that's the reason Daimler opted to kill the idea of rebadged Titan and Frontier pickups from corporate ally Nissan. In reality, the execution before the Frankfurt Motor Show was due to more complicated issues.
Yes, Mercedes, byword for German luxury, style and quality, would have slapped a three-pointed star on a pair of Japanese pickup trucks that have failed to resonate with consumers in the world's largest truck market. That slapping of badges isn't much of an exaggeration, at least on the outside. According to the report from Road & Track, the truck's front clip would have been tweaked, but beyond that, the sheetmetal would have been unchanged. The interior would have received a more thorough going-over by the team at Mercedes, while the suspension and noise, vibration and harshness tuning would have also received significant attention.
The trucks would have ended up being sold through the light-commercial branch of Mercedes-Benz - the same folks that will happily sell you a Sprinter van - had the deal gone through. Issues arose, though, first with the engines. Mercedes wanted a wider range of powertrains to allow it to tune models for specific markets, while Nissan said it couldn't engineer the wide variety of engines that MB wanted to drop under the hood. For the smaller truck, meanwhile, MB was interested in a hybrid or plug-in variant, according to R&T, although this was also shot down by Nissan.
2015 Austrian F1 Grand Prix switches to alternating current
Mon, Jun 22 2015It's called the Red Bull Ring, guests are welcomed by a statue of a leaping bull, and dominating its layout demands powerful cars that can run it hard. Perhaps all that aggression is what led both Mercedes-AMG Petronas cars to run off the track in the final qualifying session on their final hot laps, a little too aggressive on the charge. Lewis Hamilton was first into the gravel at Turn 1 when he lost his car under braking, but he was still fast enough to get pole ahead of teammate Nico Rosberg, who spun at Turn 8. Rosberg started second. Or perhaps it wasn't the red bull but the scarlet horse that caused The Silver Arrows to muck it up: Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel had Mercedes' attention all weekend, and he'd line up in third just 0.355 off Hamilton's time. Williams truly rediscovered its power, Felipe Massa going fourth fastest, teammate Valtteri Bottas in sixth. Between them was newly-minted Le Mans winner Nico Hulkenberg, yet again – can we say that enough? – pulling the still-not-updated Force India to fifth place on the grid. Max Verstappen led the Renault-powered top-ten duo in his Toro Rosso in seventh, Infiniti Red Bull Racing driver Daniil Kvyat behind him in eighth. Kvyat, however, would start down the order because of a ten-place grid penalty for needing a fifth Renault engine. After that it's back to Mercedes Ferrari power, Felipe Nasr in the Sauber in ninth, Romain Grosjean in with Mercedes power in the Lotus in tenth – but fellow Lotus driver Pastor Maldonado actually started in tenth because of Kvyat's demotion. Before we get to the race, can we take a moment to talk about the shenanigans and gaudy penalties? Kimi Raikkonen waved the Ferrari flag in Canada after a season that's been full of "We didn't get it right this time," and we thought he was back. But no. In Austria the refrain returned, the Finn kicked out of Q1 after another miscommunication with the team – he qualified 18th. If the scenario plays to form, we'll now wait for team boss Mauricio Arrivabene to issue a clarification that suggests Raikkonen missed a step. Daniel Ricciardo parachutes ten spots back for the same reason as his teammate Kvyat, needing a fifth Renault power unit, dropping him to 18th on the grid and forcing him into a five-second time penalty when he comes in to pit.
