I am offering for your consideration 1960 Mercedes-Benz 190 Ponton.
This was my father's car since new.
It lived with us in Upstate New York until 1975, then we moved down here to Florida
and it has been here since.
My father drove it sporadically, he always had it maintained well.
I recently inherited it.
I would love to be able to keep it but sometimes we all have to let go of things that we love.
About the car:
1960 Mercedes-Benz 190
- VIN # 121.010-10-03269
- exterior color is DB040G black (old and original, still shines, with normal scratches and imperfections
what a color of a 50+ year old car should have) - not perfect, of course, but nothing to be ashamed of
- the red interior is original too (mother says that it was redone about 10 years ago), seats have no rips
or tears and are very strong and comfortable
- carpets are less than a year old
- all the glass is original (SEKURIT), present, with no discoloration or any kind of chips or cracks
- bumpers are tired (painted with chrome paint, could serve the purpose for a couple more years)
- headliner is missing
- all the windows work properly
- all the gauges, lights and horn work properly (right front fender turn signal light cover is missing)
- brakes work the way they should
- exhaust is in excellent condition
- all 4 tires (Firestone 185/80/13", white-wall) are less than a year old (less then 300 miles on them)
The car runs, drives and performs really nice. It always (even after days) starts right up. It does not smoke at all.
It runs smooth (unbelievable how smooth).
The engine is powerful and quiet.
All the gears shift without hesitation and with no strange or unusual noises.
The car will go 65-70 mph but, honestly, the engine sounds the best (barely to be heard) at around 50 mph.
I would dare driving this car to Los Angeles and back, without any hesitation.
Original books, manuals, tools in pouch (rusty), jack and spare tire are included and will come with the car.
Title/Registration is clear, in my hand and ready to be transferred.
I am offering this car worldwide.
I will help have it shipped to anywhere in the world (we have a port here in Jacksonville).
Feel free to ask any questions that you might have.
$500,- via PayPal right after the auction end, balance due 3-5 days later via wire-transfer.
Thank you!
And good luck by bidding!

Daimler: 2017 the right time to launch our hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle
Tue, Jul 22 2014Zero-emissions vehicle development has never focused purely on off-the-line acceleration. So when a research executive with Mercedes-Benz parent Daimler says it's Okay that companies like Toyota and Hyundai will have a head start selling hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle, it's somewhat believable. But is Daimler really fine with being two years behind? It appears so. Daimler plans on debuting its first fuel-cell vehicle in 2017, Automotive News says, citing an interview Automobilwoche had with Daimler's corporate research chief Herbert Kohler. The German automaker estimated about a decade ago that it would be able to get fuel-cell production costs down to an "acceptable" level in 2012, but it turns out that estimate was about five years too aggressive. Daimler originally started leasing out a limited number of its F-Cell hydrogen vehicles in the US for $849 a month, though later brought that down to $599 a month. Daimler says it received a boost in its effort to accelerate fuel-cell powertrain development when it reached an agreement early last year with Nissan and Ford to work together on speeding up relevant powertrain technology. While Toyota's first fuel-cell vehicle in Japan is priced at almost $70,000 (before big government incentives kick in), Kohler says Daimler's first fuel-cell vehicle will be priced similar to a hybrid vehicle. Of course, that's a Mercedes-Benz hybrid we're talking about here, but still. Related Gallery Mercedes-Benz F-Cell View 9 Photos News Source: Automotive News - sub. req. Aston or Bust? Maybach's fate to be decided next month
Mon, 13 Jun 20112011 Maybach 62 - Click above for high-res image gallery
What will become of Maybach? That question has been rattling around the halls of Daimler headquarters in Stuttgart for some time now. But all questions will be answered, and answered soon: according to reports, the German automaker is currently evaluating prototypes and propositions for its top-end marque, and will make its decision next month.
So, what are the options? On the one hand, Daimler could kill the Maybach brand altogether. It was a notion ill conceived and even more poorly executed, taking an old platform and building a new flagship atop it. In that way, it was sort of like the Chrysler Crossfire, only far more costly to both the buyer and manufacturer. On the other hand, Daimler could opt for the long-time-coming proposition of contracting the production (and possibly much of the development) of a new generation of Maybachs to Aston Martin.
Porsche teams with Delta airlines to woo VIP passengers
Sun, 15 Sep 2013The next time you're waiting for a flight at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, see if you can spot a Porsche Cayenne or Panamera zipping between aircraft on the busy tarmac. The high-performance German vehicles aren't there practicing for an upcoming autocross; they are tasked with whisking some of the airline's most important customers between flights so they can keep their busy schedules intact.
Launched nearly two years ago, the program has proven popular with the automaker, airline and passengers as all benefit from the unique arrangement. Atlanta-based Porsche is able to showcase its cars to Delta's frequent-flying Medallion members, the airline is recognized for providing unusual perks to its high-value customers and those fortunate enough to be surprised with a quick lift are able to make connections without a stressful run through the terminal. Based on its success, the airline is rolling our similar programs in New York, Los Angeles and Minneapolis this month.
And don't think Porsche is the only automaker working with an airline to entice its frequent flyers. Mercedes-Benz ran a program over the summer that offered purchasing and leasing incentives to MileagePlus Premier members of United Airlines, and the two are currently shuttling top fliers around Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport in the automaker's S-Class and GL-Class models.
