Truckee, California, United States

This is a '79 Mazda RX7 (Updated with all '83 drive train) Road Race Car for sale with spares and a Trailer. (Car is pictured with trailering tires on) This car is well sorted and a winner. It is ready to go and go from the trailer to the track now.  It has over 20 wins and track record at Sears point and qualifying record at Thunderhill. The only reason I am selling it is because I got stupid and got a career (other than racing) and don't have time to commit to the sport. Second sucks!

The Car Front To Back;

Current SCCA Log Book

C&R Radiator. max 190deg at 10/10ths in 110deg heat

One Set of Toyo Proxes RA-1 Race Tires Scuffed On Rims

I am sure there is more. Spares are to lengthy to list. Figure on everything except a motor.

Trailer is an open car trailer which is super light. I was able to tow the whole package with a 6cyd pathfinder.

This car is super fun on the track (Not STREETABLE) and is really inexpensive to race and be competitive.

Ask questions, and if you would like more photos I can email them to you. I am selling in other markets so the auction may end. please only bid if you are interested and plan on picking it up if you win.

Thanks

Mazda launches 25th Anniversary Miata pre-order site, priced from $32,205

Fri, 02 May 2014

Mazda made a big celebration of the MX-5 Miata at the 2014 New York Auto Show with a bunch of classic models on display. It capped off the model's 25th birthday with the announcement of the 2015 MX-5 Miata 25th Anniversary Edition and showed off the much-anticipated, next-generation version's chassis.
While we are still at least year away from the new Miata hitting the road, the anniversary edition is on its way and is limited to just 100 copies for the United States. The special cars start at $32,205, compared to $23,970 for the 2015 softtop model and $28,665 for the 2015 retractable hardtop version. There is an additional $795 destination charge for all of them.
To make sure everyone gets a chance to own the ceremonial convertible, Mazda has a countdown on its website until 10:25 AM PDT, May 20, 2014. When the day comes, 250 people can to register for the car, and the first 100 to be verified as buyers get the rare Miata. Those with multiple entries will be disqualified.

Alfa Romeo takes Spider in-house, Mazda-Fiat roadster partnership not dead

Sat, Dec 20 2014

It's officially off. Following a report in March of this year that the marriage of Mazda and Alfa Romeo to produce a MX-5-based Spider was in trouble, the Italians have confirmed that it will take development in-house. "As far as the Spider goes, the final version is of course no longer the two-seater FCA co-developed with Mazda but a derivative of Project Giorgio," Maserati and Alfa Romeo brand boss Harald Wester told Car. For those not in the know, Project Giorgio is Alfa's codename for the rear-drive platform that will underpin the next-generation Spider, not to mention the replacement for the 159 sedan and a few other products. All is not lost for the Japanese-Italian partnership, though. "The Far East import will probably find a new home with Fiat-Abarth," Wester told Car. Yes, you read that correctly, Mazda is still working with FCA, and the result will eventually end up with Abarth's scorpion badge. If anything, we're more excited over this news than the idea of an Alfa MX-5. But we want to know what you think – would you rather Alfa build a new Spider on the Miata's bones, or does an MX-5 Abarth sound like more fun? Have your say in Comments.

We go Unplugged to celebrate Mazda Miata Month

Tue, 29 Jul 2014

Chances are good that you, loyal Autoblog reader, have long since chosen to follow us on Twitter and 'like' us on Facebook. (If you haven't, feel free to take a second and do so right now.) Anyway, if you're one of our social media posse, you might have already heard that we're smack dab in the middle of Miata Month. We've gotten Mazda to loan us a couple of MX-5 Miatas, allowing us to say a protracted, tear-filled goodbye to the current generation (NC) of the beloved roadster, just before it exits stage right and ushers in the next generation.
You'll see a few more Miata Month items here on Autoblog after we've said our final farewell, but we absolutely wanted to make sure we created some great video evidence of our month, as well. Right down below, then, in its unfiltered-audio splendor, is the Autoblog Unplugged version of the 2015 Mazda MX-5 Miata PRHT. Your author had a pretty great time wringing out the roadster for the creation of our short vid, and we really hope you dig listening along.
