Exterior: Brilliant Black Paint 7/10. Body is pretty straight. No major body damage. Paint is oxidizing on hood and roof the most. Little scratches and dings here and there. Will require some body work before re-spraying. Both outer door handles inop and broken on driver side.

Interior: Black Leather 8/10. In pretty good shape. Headliner looks really good and no cracks on the dashboard. Has Leather Seats in decent condition, but driver has the typical wear and bolster.

Reason for selling: This is actually a running car, but I actually still owe on this car and need to pay it off. I am looking into buying a house since the market is going back up and I have other plans and investments to attend to. Having this Rx-7 and Rx-8 under my name is holding me back. One has to go, and the Rx-8 is more practical at this point. But I can't fully part ways without coming out on top with something, so I am going to keep the drivetrain (minus the rear end and axles) for my next project however long that takes. I will be rebuilding this engine in the meantime to keep me busy.

I AM ASKING FOR $8000 OBO, The extras are worth at least $3k+, and brand new it was $5k+. So you can sell some of that stuff for some money back too. If you don't want any of the extra stuff that is on there, and will replace those items with your own parts of your choosing, then I can lower the price a bit. Give me your offer and feel free to offer what you think its worth. The worst I can say is No, and maybe your a lowballer. But you won't know until you try. I'm not in a major rush but I can have the car ready ASAP if I have a buyer ready. Also I will be using the money to pay the bank off for the title, so it may take a little time to have paperwork prepared for you. Plus car will be sold as a non-op vehicle since the engine, transmission, driveshaft will be missing.

Dealers think Mazda's new Mexico plant will increase Mazda3 sales by 20%

Mon, 27 Jan 2014

Mazda3 sales in the US were down about 15 percent last year to a total of 104,713 units. According to a report from Automotive News, though, the slowdown in sales has been due more to production constraints than demand.
Good news for Mazda dealers, then, that a new plant in Salamanca, Mexico has just come online. Tom Carey, chairman of Mazda's national dealer council, told AN, "We're going to be in good shape because of that Mexico inventory." If estimates prove accurate, sales of the Mazda3 will increase by about 20 percent when the new plant begins production this month.
If those lofty projections come to pass, Mazda will reportedly be on track to exceed 300,000 total sales in the US in 2014, which would represent the brand's highest figures since its 375,000-unit peak in 1994. The brand hopes to sell more than 400,000 vehicles in the US by 2016, and with well-received products like the latest 3 and Mazda6 sedan, such expectations seem quite possible.

Mazda just restored the 787B's forgotten older brother

Fri, Aug 12 2016

Among Mazda's many racecars, none is as famous as the 787B, and for good reason. The 787B remains the only Japanese car and the only rotary-powered car to win overall at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It wasn't Mazda's only successful endurance racer, though. Before the 787B, there was the 767B. Mazda's 767B racecars competed in the IMSA GTP class at endurance races throughout 1989. They featured 630-horsepower four-rotor engines and were very successful in their class. This newly restored car took first and second place class finishes in five of the six races it participated in, and each finish was in the overall top ten. The one exception was a DNF in which the transmission failed. Twenty-five years after the 767B's glory days, Mazda initiated a complete teardown and restoration of the aged car. The work was done by Downing Atlanta and supervised by former Mazda racers Rick Engman and Jim Downing. (Fun fact: Downing was one of the designers of the HANS device.) The shop has also restored other racecars for Mazda, including one of the 787Bs. The car went through a two-year rehab and will make its track re-debut at the Monterey Motorsports Reunion. The event takes place next weekend at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca where the track will once again feature the angry shriek of a competition-grade rotary engine. California adapts ZEV mandate with PHEVs for smaller automakers

Fri, Jun 5 2015

California is the nation's largest market for zero-emissions vehicles with over 100,000 of them estimated to be on the roads there. The state's goal is to keep that number growing every year. To that end, the California Air Resources Board is now tweaking its rules in a way that might not boost ZEVs but could mean more plug-in hybrids for the Golden State. Jaguar Land Rover, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Subaru, and Volvo asked for an exemption to the state's zero-emissions vehicle mandate last year due to their relatively small development budgets compared to larger automakers. CARB denied their request but did craft a compromise, according to Automotive News. Rather than being required to offer a ZEV in the state, companies with an annual global revenue of less than $40 billion, like those in this group, may instead sell plug-in hybrids to earn ZEV credits. The companies aren't completely off the hook, though. If these plug-in hybrids don't earn enough credits, the corporations must buy them on the market to make up the difference. Automakers with popular electric models like Nissan and Tesla have made a big business through this trading system by selling their surplus to rivals. Tesla alone pocketed $51 million in the first quarter from this part of its business, according to Automotive News. The changes to the regulations also aren't set in stone, yet. CARB is meeting in 2016 and could adjust things further at that time.
