This Listing Is For My 1988 Mazda RX7. Please Read The Following Carefully

This Car Runs, Drives & Stops

I would consider this car a running and driving project car

-Has swapped 5 lug suspension and big brakes all the way around

-Aftermarket front sway bar

-Front suspension was redone with poly urethane bushings about 20k ago

-New lowering struts

-Engine is lightly bridge ported 13b w/ aprox 20k on it

-Most of the unnecessary fuel injection wiring has been taken out & the engine bay cleaned up as can be seen in the pictures.

-8lb. Aluminum flywheel. Clutch is also new (Less than 20 miles on it)

-Car has been swapped to carburetion us a racing beat manifold & an SK Racing carburetor. Carb may need some slight tuning but I have the jets to do if needed.

-New fuel pressure regulator

-New electronic radiator fan

-New MSD Streetfire ignition

-Factory option aluminum hood

-Brakes have all been redone and have maybe 20 miles on them

-Car needs alignment

-Car has wheel adapters to except Borbet 5 spoke wheels

-Tires are at about 50%

-Transmission shifts great. Driveshaft U-joints are in great shape. Exhaust is ok.

-Paint is tired and worn. The car does have some dings and such. The front end was repainted some tie ago and is noticeable.

-Interior is faded, some cracked plastic... etc..

-Battery has been relocated to the passenger side cubby. All new battery wiring has been run. There is some rust under where the original battery sat up front (easy fix)

-Radio works but is not hooked up. Sun roof from what I can tell is no operational.

It has it's quarks but with some work here and there they can all be worked out. It's a fun little car. Unfortunately I have about 5 other projects on my hands.

Please message me with questions!

Miata driver pulls off hilariously diabolical move in fender-to-fender racing

Wed, 27 Aug 2014

Racing is all about finding the little advantages over competitors that allow you to get ahead. Sometimes those are legitimate means - like being able to take advantage of a better line through a corner - and other times drivers get a little more creative for a leg up over opponents. Sometimes things might even go a little too far. Case in point: just watch the opening of this Mazda MX-5 Cup race from Silverstone in the UK.
According to the YouTube description, we're riding with James Rogers in this video, and he appears to be pretty talented behind the wheel. Rogers has a great start from fifth that has him in third within just a few corners. He starts stalking the top two drivers, who are already having a fantastic race themselves, but then we see that the person in second is clearly willing to do whatever it takes to win. Just watch the video, and you'll see what we mean. Bravo (?) to that racer for some very quick, albeit fiendish, thinking.

Mazda5 may not be long for this world

Thu, Feb 5 2015

The concept behind building a smaller but still useful minivan like the Mazda5 always seemed like such a good idea. However, since the little people hauler's introduction, there has been the rise of the compact crossover in the US, which fulfills a similar niche for many buyers. The future is not looking good for the utilitarian Mazda. Autocar from the UK reports that company officials confirm the Mazda5 is being discontinued there, with no replacement planned. Autoblog reached out to Mazda North America, but the company would not verify future product changes in this region. Though, the model's cancellation would hardly be a surprise to follow in North America, as well. The minivan market is a tough place these days, and dealers tend to prefer more expensive models for their high margins. Even FCA US is abandoning the inexpensive portion of the segment for the next-gen Chrysler Town & Country. The Mazda5 isn't exactly a sales standout, either. Mazda sold 11,613 of them in all of 2014, which was a 16.4 percent drop from 13,884 in 2013. To compare to larger, more expensive minivans, Honda moved 122,738 units of the Odyssey last year, and Toyota did 124,502 examples of the Sienna. Mazda's awesome Hiroshima museum now navigable by Google Maps

Fri, 15 Mar 2013

Visiting an auto museum is one of the best ways we know to connect with car culture and to commune with the past and bone up on one's knowledge. Most of us have a decent museum within a few hours drive of where we live, but that doesn't mean it's easy to see the world's great collections - factors like cost, time and mobility can get in the way. Videos are great, but they don't allow us to browse at our own pace or choose what we'd like to focus on. The folks behind Google Maps have a solution - the virtual museum tour, as seen here at Mazda's fantastic museum in Hiroshima, Japan.
The Google Maps tour allows viewers to take a walk through the main exhibition area of the museum, and you can focus on specific classic cars from Mazda, or check out displays featuring new technologies like Skyactiv. To take a quick spin through the museum - or a leisurely stroll at your own pace - scroll down to start your own virtual tour.
