10th anniversary turbo rx 7..33870 actual miles..1400 built 700 known left...I had the engine rebuilt at Rotory doctors, goopy apex seals, mild bridge port, wastegate was ported, new water pump, clutch, clutch master and slave, K&N filter kit, trans has all new bearings and syncros and seals, rear diff is rebuilt, new drive shaft with replaceable u joints, new z rated tires, new rotors, rear calipers and 4 wheel pads, new struts and springs...stainless exhaust with the cat convertor "test" pipe..the list goes on and on..all of this stuff was done within the last 700 miles, but I've started a new project and need the garage space. It has no rust but could stand to be stripped and repainted if a person was really pick since they didn't have the best paint in 1988.. comes with extra turbo engine that needs apex seals and transmission also many other misc parts including new front bumper cover... and by looking at the 10th anny registry this is the second lowest mileage 10th in the world..with that being said I do not want phone calls from every 16 year old that needs to ask their parents, nor do I want anyone to call me unless they check their insurance rates first...this is a very fast car and the insurance for some may be on the pricey side..And I don't want someone to buy it just to destroy it..this needs to be preserved.....call...DO NOT TEXT!!!! 641 seven five7 06nine nine...not after 9:30 pm

2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata firsthand impressions and notebook scribblings

Thu, 04 Sep 2014

In a temporarily repurposed airport hanger in Monterey, CA, the world caught its first glimpse of the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata tonight, and I was fortunate enough to attend in person along with my fellow auto media colleagues, Mazda execs, a couple hundred Miata devotees and, oddly, a fair number of Duran Duran fans. The klieg lights have dimmed, Simon Le Bon is no longer ringing in my ears, and I'm left to ponder what I've seen. I've scavenged my notes - and my Twitter feed - to give you some details and brief thoughts.
Fair Warning: I can't claim to be completely impartial (I own a second-generation NB and consider the Miata franchise to be one of but a few sacrosanct franchises in modern motoring), but I will share my honest first impressions of the new car, both good and bad.
Here are my notes:

Will the Mazda2 be offered as a PHEV with a rotary engine range extender?

Thu, 10 Jul 2014

Every few months, it seems a rumor crops up about plans from Mazda to revive the rotary engine. Last November, its CEO said the only way another one could happen is if the project was profitable, and then a month later the automaker showed off the Mazda2 RE Range Extender with a 330cc Wankel engine mounted in the rear. Now, Australian auto site Motoring reports that the PHEV may actually make production in the next-gen Mazda2 sometime after it's initial launch.
Martin Benders, managing director of Mazda in Australia, spoke to Motoring about the company's future with hybrids and basically reiterated what the CEO said last year. The Japanese automaker only plans to offer electrified powertrains in places where they can sell in sufficient numbers to be profitable, like Japan.
Mazda has been playing with the rotary range-extender idea for years. In the RE prototype, the engine was exclusively used to charge the lithium-ion batteries when they were running low, and a 100-horsepower electric motor provided all of the propulsion. It gave the little hatch an estimated range of about 250 miles. The company reportedly took inspiration from its Skyactiv engines to make the Wankel have lower friction and a lighter weight.

2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata Launch Edition now available for pre-order

Tue, May 5 2015

Want to be one of the first to buy the fantastic new 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata? Now's your chance. The pre-order books open at 12:00 PM Eastern for the very special Launch Edition, which is limited to just 1,000 units. All of the MX-5 Miata Launch Edition cars come painted in Soul Red with a Sport Tan leather interior, an exclusive combination for this special run. Buyers only need to choose between the six-speed manual transmission (the obvious choice), or a six-speed automatic. Pricing is set at $30,495 if you want the stick-shift, and $31,570 if you prefer the auto. So, want one? Of course you do. Head over to Mazda's pre-order site and place a $500 deposit toward the purchase of your car. Better act fast, though. When Mazda offered its 25th Anniversary MX-5 Miata via pre-order, all 100 of those cars sold out in just ten minutes.
