Hello,
I would like to tell you a little about my 1988 Black Mazda RX7. I am the 3rd owner of the car. A little old lady, a cop and me drove the car. I purchased my car in Pontiac, MI from the police office. I have driven the car for the longest amount of time. I drove it year around for 18 years. I won't lie the car has had a few accidents. They have been repaired to the best of the cars cosmetic performance. My frame is bent because i was side swiped by a Semi's real wheel. The drive cut me off. There is rust on the body of the car. There is some on the bottom of he doors. The bottom of the car has been replaced by rust proof sheet metal and anti rust coating. There is a second engine in the car because the car developed a leak in the main gasket. Which you know if you have ever owned a Mazda RX7 you have to replace the short block you cannot replace the seals. The second has leaky main seals again due to the accident with the semi. It bent the fame 3/4 of an inch. I didn't stop driving the car after the semi accident but drove it for 4-5 years after just putting oil in the car all the time. My car can either be completly redone or used for parts. I am selling the car with the option for parts. I have had to store my car. All other engine parts are working correctly except for the main seal. None of the windows are broken. The seats are in good condition. My car is in storage in Pontiac, MI and will have to be towed by the buyer of the car. I did add a locking gas cap. I know the car sounds a little good and a little bad. I wanted to say that I have loved my car and still do but I cannot afford to store it until it is time to restore so I need to sell it. I hope anyone who loves a good fine foreign automobile will love it the same way I have done.

Mazda ad showing Facebook updates while driving criticized by Senate committee [w/video]
Sat, 08 Feb 2014Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Jay Rockefeller, D-WV, held an all-day summit on Thursday to discuss the dangers of using modern technology while driving, during which an ad that Mazda aired during the Super Bowl was used as an example of the worrisome future towards which we're headed. While seemingly innocuous at first glance, the ad, which can be seen below, shows a brief glimpse of a driver using the Mazda Connect infotainment system in a Mazda3 to check/update his Facebook page while driving down the road.
Officials from major communications companies like Samsung, Google and Apple attended the summit, as well as representatives from automakers including General Motors and Toyota. A representative from Mazda was not present despite the company's own currently available technology being used as the poster child for the issues being discussed.
According to Automotive News, Senator Rockefeller warned the automaker and communication execs on hand that he will propose legislation to regulate the use of technology while driving if they don't work together to implement their own standards more quickly. Michael Robinson, GM's vice president of sustainability and global regulatory affairs, argued that his company has had distracted driving guidelines in place for 15 years since the advent of its OnStar system, noting that the technology in question has also helped the automaker save lives through automatic crash detection and calls to 911.
Mazda Miata 'fathers' Hall and Case offer a tour through the roadster's history
Wed, 10 Sep 2014The original Mazda Miata broke onto the automotive scene in 1989 and was a huge success. However, the convertible's genesis goes all the way back to the early '80s. Bob Hall and Dean Case were among the inside men of the program on the US side, and they were on hand at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca during the recent MX-5 event there to tell some of their stories about the project's beginning.
Hall was on the Miata project from very early on, and one of his most fascinating stories is how the convertible got its shape. The droptop wasn't necessarily going to be a rear-wheel drive roadster. There were both front-wheel-drive coupe and mid-engine concepts being considered. In fact, the classic look of the NA generation was the least favorite of the three at the sketch stage.
Hall comes off as a jokester hiding a genius mind. He has a fountain of information in his head about what a Miata should be, but it all comes down to "less is more." However, he admits that it's easy to conceive that idea, but it's much harder to actually execute it well.
Mazda's Hofu plant builds its ten-millionth car
Wed, 28 Aug 2013Ten million is a lot no matter which way you cut it, and no matter what you're talking about: Ten million dollars, ten million miles, ten million people... certainly ten million cars. And that's the milestone that Mazda's Hofu plant in Yamaguchi prefecture of Japan has just achieved.
The Hofu facility has been in operation since 1982, and was supplemented with a second plant on the same site ten years later. Hofu reached a million units built in 1986 and five million in 2002. But with production now at 482,100 units per year, it took less than twelve years to double that previous milestone.
The magic ten-millionth car was a new Mazda6 (known locally as the Atenza), which is built at Hofu Plant No. 2, while Hofu Plant No. 1 gears up for the new Mazda3 (aka Axela). Scroll down below for a related press release.
