1985 Mazda Rx-7 Gsl-se Coupe 2-door 1.3l on 2040-cars
Loretto, Pennsylvania, United States
85 RX7 GSL-SE. This is a great collectable car for RX7 enthusiast out there. Body is in great shape with no rust. Car has been garage kept and only out in summer time for last 8 years (since I have owned it). Interior is in good shape however not show condition. Could use new rear upholstery in the trunk area and repaint or replacement of center stereo console. The seats, headliner, carpet in front are all in good shape. The car runs excellent. The oil cooler has a small leak and needs replaced. There is an issue with the high beam switch that needs corrected as the high beams will not stay on (I do not know what is causing this for sure). The mileage listed is from odometer however there are signs that the engine was rebuilt sometime in the past by a previous owner. These are minor issues and are reflected in the low reserve for this car. This car could very easily be show ready with right owner and attention. I had the car shipped to me from Nevada 8 years ago and slowly restored the car. There are still small issues that need addressed however with the right owner this will be a great car. There is no warranty on this car. Buyer is responsible for shipment or pick up of the car and must be picked up within 30days of close of auction. Car is currently titled and registered as Antique in the state of Pennsylvania. I am selling as the car is currently sitting in storage in Pennsylvania and my work has relocated me to Ohio. The car needs attention that I can no longer give. Good Luck!

2014 Mazda6 earns Popular Mechanics' 'Car of the Year'
Tue, 12 Nov 2013Ring one up for Mazda. The Japanese brand's midsize offering, the Mazda6, has been named Popular Mechanics' Car of the Year. The 6 received a comprehensive reworking for the 2014 model year that saw it adopt sleek, sexy sheet metal; a clean, logical interior; and powertrain technologies that allow it to net some of the best fuel economy available in a gas-powered, non-hybrid sedan.
Popular Mechanics praised the 6's Skyactiv 2.5-liter, 184-horsepower engine, as well as its agility and responsiveness during testing. It also remarked on the functional, but well designed cabin, and the degree of available technology.
"The Mazda6 really impressed us with how well it delivers so many things modern car owners want: great mileage, fun road-handling, upscale features and looks - and remarkable value," said Jim Meigs, Editor-in-Chief of Popular Mechanics.
Modded budget Mazda Miata takes on new Porsche Boxster in more challenges
Tue, 23 Sep 2014Earlier this month, our friends across the pond at Auto Express released the first in a two-video series that would see them try and build up a second-generation Mazda MX-5 Miata that could best a standard Porsche Boxster around the track. While that first video detailed the mods to the MX-5 - a supercharger, some suspension upgrades and a new set of super-sticky rubber being chief among them - and set baseline lap times for the stock car, today, we have the results of the 5,000-pound ($8,200) upgrade job.
Of course, we aren't going to spoil those for you. You'll need to watch the full video, which recaps the upgrades before digging into a comparison of both straight-line-speed differences between the 2.7-liter Porsche Boxster and blown Miata, as well as their behavior and lap times on the track.
Take a look and let us know what you think in Comments.
Scion FR-S pitted against oldtimers RX-8 and S2000
Tue, 07 May 2013There are very few vehicles available today that compare directly with the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ twins. A case could be made for the Mazda MX-5 Miata, and possibly even six-cylinder versions of American coupes like the Ford Mustang. Pretty much everything else is either too expensive or is powered by the wrong set of wheels.
The boys from EverydayDriver on YouTube decided the only fair way to judge the inherent qualities of the Toyobaru twins was to pit them against two standard-bearers of years past: The Honda S2000 and Mazda RX-8. Neither of these cars is an exact matchup, with the Honda boasting a convertible top and the RX-8 offering more practicality via a rear seat and two reverse-opening doors for easier access. What they do offer, however, are similar performance stats and proven reputations for excellent handling.
None of this talk answers the real question, though: Which one wins the comparison test? Scroll down to watch the video, and be prepared for something of a surprise conclusion.
