The total invested in this car over the last two months is $1,699.16. In addition the previous owner invested lots under the hood of the vehicle and it shows! On the exterior, two small rust spots, a few small door dings, scratches on the rear bumper, and one small dent near the left rear trunk, but nothing major. The previous owner kept the vehicle on the street as opposed to a garage.

The car drives straight, shifts smooth, and has no known mechanical issues. I'm selling as I will be moving into the city and will have no need for a vehicle.

Items that may need repair:

Drivers Side Rear View Mirror (~$35)
Right Rear Door Power Door Lock Motor (~$35)
Trunk Latch (~$35)

If you are looking for a reliable, safe, mechanically sound, and gas friendly commuter car, this is a perfect choice!

Any questions or to schedule a test drive or viewing, please feel free to text/email/call (708.712.4394). My name is Kevin.

I've represented the car fairly and I'm open to serious inquires/offers.

Thanks for looking!

Kevin

Mazda Recalling Cars Due To Spider Webs In Engines

Sun, Apr 6 2014

It seems that Yellow Sac spiders really, really love Mazda. Three years after Mazda recalled 52,000 Mazda6 sedans over spider webs obstructing the evaporative canister vent lines of 2009 and 2010 Mazda6 models, another recall has been issued for 42,000 more of the models built between 2010 and 2012 and equipped with the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. According to the automaker, there have been nine confirmed sightings of spiders in vent lines since the original recall. It seems that covers were applied at the factory to keep the arachnids from entering, but it hasn't quite exterminated the problem. A reflash of the ECU is required that "[changes] the logic behind how the car purges the charcoal canister during normal operation," says Jeremy Barnes, Director, Public Relations & Brand Experience at Mazda North American Operations. So far, Mazda has not recorded any fires, accidents or injuries due to this tangled mess of webs. Recall notices will be mailed out to owners later this month. Mazda launches 25th Anniversary Miata pre-order site, priced from $32,205

Fri, 02 May 2014

Mazda made a big celebration of the MX-5 Miata at the 2014 New York Auto Show with a bunch of classic models on display. It capped off the model's 25th birthday with the announcement of the 2015 MX-5 Miata 25th Anniversary Edition and showed off the much-anticipated, next-generation version's chassis.
While we are still at least year away from the new Miata hitting the road, the anniversary edition is on its way and is limited to just 100 copies for the United States. The special cars start at $32,205, compared to $23,970 for the 2015 softtop model and $28,665 for the 2015 retractable hardtop version. There is an additional $795 destination charge for all of them.
To make sure everyone gets a chance to own the ceremonial convertible, Mazda has a countdown on its website until 10:25 AM PDT, May 20, 2014. When the day comes, 250 people can to register for the car, and the first 100 to be verified as buyers get the rare Miata. Those with multiple entries will be disqualified.

Next-gen Mazda2 designed for 'predominantly feminine' appeal

Tue, 26 Nov 2013

We can't ever think of a time we've heard anyone accuse the current Mazda2 of being too edgy, which makes reports of a softer design for the next-gen model a little surprising. Autocar reports that when the new 2 debuts next fall, it will have a "softer, more feminine appeal" than the current design.
This description lends a little more credibility to the Japanese magazine image we saw of the car back in July. Aside from Mazda's Kodo-inspired signature face, that picture did reveal softer lines, especially along the side of the car. This softened styling is to appeal to the car's target market, which Mazda's European design chief is reported to have called a "predominantly feminine customer base." Last we heard, though, Mazda might keep the next 2 out of the US due to slow sales.
The 2015 Mazda2 will reportedly ride on a shortened version of the platform used for the CX-5, but Autocar mentions that its platform could also be the basis of a new subcompact crossover - possibly to go up against vehicles like the Buick Encore and the upcoming Honda Fit-based crossover called the Vezel.
