This car is a great example of an unmolested original Miata. The ONLY things that are not stock on this car are the wheels. They are the Racing Hart 17" wheels from a 2005 Mazda Speed. I do not have the originals. Other than that this car is as-equipped from the factory. The tires are brand new (205/40/ZR17 Falkens), with less than 300 miles on them. I do not have a hard top for this car.The car has less than 38k original miles on it. Yes, I'm sure they are original, I purchased the car from the original owner and the mileage has been documented. The title reads "actual mileage". It has never been in an accident. The car runs great, shifts smoothly and stops great. The AC is ice cold. The power windows, locks and mirrors all work as they should. The cruise works. The fog lamps work. The rear glass in the convertible top has defrost that works. It comes with 2 factory keys and 2 key-less Fobs with security, trunk release and panic butt"

I am considering selling my 2002 Mazda Miata LS. This car is a great example of an unmolested original Miata. The ONLY things that are not stock on this car are the wheels. The car runs great, shifts smoothly and stops great. The AC is ice cold. The power windows, locks and mirrors all work as they should. The cruise works. The fog lamps work. The rear glass in the convertible top has defrost that works. It comes with 2 factory keys and 2 key-less Fobs with security, trunk release and panic buttons. I have the original owners manual in it's case and it's in nice condition. I have the original window sticker (over 27k MSRP) The top is great, no leaks. The seals are original but still in good shape. The boot appears to be unused, all the snaps work and there are no tears. The dash is perfect, no cracks or fading. The Bose radio sounds great, I have not tested the in-dash CD Player. The power antenna works.
I wouldn't call the interior spotless, but I challenge you to find a nicer one outside of a museum.

Here are the condition issues with this car.
1: The biggest issue is the paint. There are plenty of nicks, chips, scratches, door dings, scuffs and touch-ups etc. The pictures ARE of this car, taken on 9/22/2013. And it does look that good, at that distance.
2: There are a few scuffs on the outer edges of the wheels.
3: There is wear, not wear through, on the drivers seat bolster. This mostly amounts to discoloration.
4: There are a few of the LEDs in Radio display that are faded or burned out. Every function of the radio works as it should, and after driving awhile, some seem to come back on.

The third owner of this vehicle will appreciate that there will be no joy rides of this car. I expect that a buyer will want to drive the car to verify it's condition. That's fine. However, to test drive the car, I require cash in hand to complete the sale when we get back. I will accept cash only. No checks of any kind. I am not interested in trades. I have a clean, clear Florida title in my name, at my current address, in-hand to sign over to the new owner.

Mazda Koeru concept forecasts next CX-9 in sleek form

Wed, Sep 16 2015

Mazda rolled in to the Frankfurt Motor Show this year with the Koeru concept you see here. The showpiece is the latest embodiment of the Japanese brand's Kodo design language, applied with dramatic effect to a large crossover shape. Could this preview the next CX-9? The Koeru takes its name from the Japanese verb for "going beyond," and the reason is plain to see: though created by a mass-market brand, the concept could easily belong to an upscale marque like Infiniti (which offers a range of crossovers), Jaguar (which just revealed its first), or Maserati (which is preparing to get in on the action as well). It strikes us as aggressive as it is elegant, with taut lines and sporty details from the sharp lights to the muscular wheel arches. Few technical details as to what lies underneath it all were made available. And these show cars often lack working underpinnings to speak of anyway. But Mazda says that, beyond the styling, it optimized the aerodynamics over the upper body as well as underneath it to reduce turbulence and "enhance vehicle stability when driving at speed." It's also said to encompass the company's latest Skyactiv, i-Activesense, and Mazda Connect technologies. Which is all well and fine, but we're looking forward to seeing what innovations the company might incorporate if and when the Koeru (hopefully) transitions from concept to reality. In the meantime you can scope it out in the live and stock image galleries above and below. MAZDA KOERU The all-new crossover concept proposed by Mazda Mazda Motor Corporation is unveiling the all-new crossover concept Mazda KOERU for the world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show this year. The Mazda KOERU demonstrates Mazda's unique and daring interpretation of a crossover vehicle, proposed for the fast-growing crossover market. Featuring the full suite of Mazda's new-generation SKYACTIV technologies and designed under the KODO—Soul of Motion design language, the concept offers sporty yet delightfully refined styling and driving performance. The name "KOERU", which literally means "exceed" or "go beyond" in Japanese, comes from Mazda's aspiration to deliver value that goes well beyond the existing category norms and standards. As the latest incarnation of Mazda's new-generation products, the Mazda KOERU crossover concept offers styling that exudes power, vitality and a new level of polished refinement.

Mazda reveals 25th anniversary edition MX-5 Miata alongside next-gen chassis

Thu, 17 Apr 2014

Ford may be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Mustang this week, but it's not the only automaker with a sports car icon to fete at this year's New York Auto Show. Mazda is also celebrating the 25th anniversary of the MX-5 Miata with an array of 15 classic models. It's also showing off the chassis for the next MX-5, and unveiling a special 25th Anniversary Edition.
The special edition is based on the retractable hardtop model with either manual or automatic transmission, Bilstein shocks, a metallic red paint job with contrasting black roof and an off-white leather interior. Naturally, special badging can be found inside and out to set it apart from the record 940,000 other MX-5s sold to date, and just 100 examples will find their way to US buyers.
Along with the two-tone special, Mazda is also showing off the new Skyactiv chassis and engine that'll underpin and power the upcoming next-generation MX-5 (as well as an as-yet-to-be-determined Fiat Group roadster if the two parties can work out their differences). With a lower center of gravity that's also closer to the middle of the car, the new chassis promises even better balance and a good couple hundred pounds of weight savings over the outgoing model. Check it all out in the press releases below.

The Mazda MX-5 Miata and saving a marriage

Mon, Apr 6 2015

I've had the privilege of knowing Zach Bowman – former Autoblog scribe, now penning great things over at Road & Track – for nearly a decade. We met at the Detroit Auto Show when we were both relatively new to the business, and joked about how someday, we'd work together and eventually conquer the world as big shots in the industry (we're still figuring that last part out, by the way). Thus, I was thrilled when Zach joined Autoblog in 2010, just a couple of months after I was hired, and was equally saddened when I learned he'd be leaving us. Zach is someone I'm proud to call a colleague – nay, a friend – and I've enjoyed the voice he's brought to this line of work. I tell you this on a personal level because Zach has just published what you could arguably consider his most heartfelt piece of automotive work to date. It's a charming, emotional story about his relationship with his wife, and how they, like so many young couples, learned to make marriage work through the many ups and downs found in any solid relationship. I call this "automotive work" because Zach intertwines this tale into a story about driving his 2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata across the country, his wife by his side, learning about love and life from the cockpit of a two-seat roadster. I can honestly say it's one of the best things I've read in a long while. Rather than continue to wax poetic about Zach's latest piece, I'll let his own words speak for themselves. Head over to Road & Track to read the full piece.
