The car runs and drives beautifully, I have checked all of the fluids and they are clean. The shifts are clean and the linkage is tight. The tires have a little over two thirds of their tread left and it has recently passed emissions. Astheticaly the car is also in good condition with the exception of some clear coat peeling on the front bumber and some minor damage on the rear bumber. all of the damage is contained to the bumpers so if you wanted to repair the damage only the bumpers would have to be repainted. there is some normal wear on the drivers seat but it is minimal due to the car having low miles. The soft top is is good condition and seals as it did when new. The car has been completely detailed so it is very clean. I have tested all of the electronics and all are in working order. this includes the lighting, stereo, cruise control and power windows"

I am selling this 2000 Miata for a friend and the car is in very nice condition. Everything on the car operates as it was originally intended. This includes the breaking, handling and electronic functions of the vehicle. If you are familiar with the Miata then you know how well these cars drive and this one is no exception. This particular car has many options included such as leather seats, cruise control, defrosting rear window, air conditioning, leather steering wheel, power windows, dual air bags and many more amenities. The car is exceptionally clean and has recently been detailed for sale. There are three areas where I could find any damage to the vehicle. The first is the front bumper, the clear coat is peeling causing a minor cosmetic defect. The second is the rear bumper where what appears to be a minor home repair on a crack. Finally third is normal wear on the front seat. All three of these defects can be seen in the photos. Beyond that the car is in great condition with low miles. I ave a fairly through history on the vehicle and no major repairs have been needed on the vehicle due to low mileage but it has been consistently and well maintained. Additionally the car has a very sturdy aftermarket roll bar which is a great safety feature seeing as the cars originally did not include one and it also has an aftermarket alarm system which works great. The overall condition of the vehicle can be seen in the photos and I would be happy to answer any questions you may have about the vehicle as well as send you any specific photos you request.

Mazda mulling furniture, designer goods in bid to command higher prices

Wed, 01 Oct 2014

Brands like Porsche and Ferrari make a mint every year by selling branded lifestyle goods like shoes, hats and even wilder items. Bugatti takes things to the extremes with things like its $84,000 belt buckle. These products not only make their respective companies some extra money, but they reaffirm their high-end design aspirations to wealthy buyers. However, the next firm possibly dipping its toe into this upscale pool is a bit more mass-market - Mazda.
That's right. The Japanese automaker best known among enthusiasts for its segment-defining Miata and rotary engines is considering its own line of luxury goods in the coming years called Mazda Design. The project is the brainchild of styling boss Ikuo Maeda, and according to Automotive News, he has backing from company CEO Masamichi Kogai. Although the green light isn't quite on yet, Maeda is already brainstorming. "Not only furniture, but I'd like to build a Mazda Design brand. That's my dream," he said to Automotive News.
The possible project is just one aspect of Mazda's move to become a near-premium brand. According to Automotive News, it wants to see higher transaction prices partially by offering more stylish design than its rivals. Launching a line of luxury goods is meant to communicate this new focus to customers.

Mazda and Clemson collaborate on Deep Orange 3 concept

Wed, 07 Aug 2013

There are school projects, and then there's the Mazda Deep Orange 3 Concept Car, a one-off built by Clemson University automotive engineering students and designed by Frederick Naaman from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Clemson students unveiled the chassis at the 2012 SEMA show in Las Vegas, although this is the first showing of the car fully clothed.
Sporting a unique hybrid powertrain that can automatically switch between front-, rear-, and all-wheel drive. A gas-powered engine handles the fronts, while the rears are powered by an electric motor and a battery pack. The Deep Orange 3 also has an unusual three-plus-three layout, making it a much cooler version of your parent's old Vista Cruiser. The exterior sheetmetal clearly follows Mazda's established design language, and looks like it could easily pass for a five-door version of the Shinari Concept. It really is a great looking vehicle.
The Deep Orange 3 was part of Clemson's graduate-level auto engineering program, and is a regular partnership between the east coast school and the Pasadena-based design college's students. Clemson, Art Center and Mazda will be showing the Deep Orange 3 at the Center for Automotive Research Management Briefing Seminars in Traverse City, MI, from August 5 to August 8. White House clears way for NHTSA to mandate vehicle black boxes

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

At present, over 90 percent of all new vehicles sold in the United States today are equipped with event data recorders, more commonly known as black boxes. If the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gets its way, that already high figure will swell to a full 100 percent in short order.
Such automotive black boxes have been in existence since the 1990s, and all current Ford, General Motors, Mazda and Toyota vehicles are so equipped. NHTSA has been attempting to make these data recorders mandatory for automakers, and according to The Detroit News, the White House Office of Management Budget has just finished reviewing the proposal, clearing the way. Now NHTSA is expected to draft new legislation to make the boxes a requirement.
One problem with current black boxes is that there's no set of standards for automakers to follow when creating what bits of data are recorded, and for how long or in what format it is stored. In other words, one automaker's box is probably not compatible with its competitors.
