White Mazda Miata MX-5 "NARDI TORINO" RARE!!

Year: 1999

Mileage: 121,905

No Reserve

When it comes to speedy, nimble roadsters, this white two-door Mazda MX-5, more commonly referred to as the Mazda Miata, is one of today's most popular options. Combining sporty features with exquisite styling and a relatively low price; this sleek, compact, two-seat convertible features a versatile 2.0-liter inline-4 with rear-wheel drive. Its inline-4 engine gets 167 horsepower and 140 pound-feet of torque. Thanks to its light weight, the engine is more than sufficient and is still a safe drive with its dual offered premium airbags. The Miata boasts superb acceleration capabilities. Fuel economy is respectable; this 4 speed automatic transmission version of the roadster achieves 22 mpg in the city, 28 mpg on the freeway and 24 mpg combined. The sleek outward appearance and engaging driving performance of this Mazda MX-5 made it an instant hit, and is now a typically rare buy. This speedy Miata is fitted out with a 2.0-liter engine but has otherwise maintained its distinctive and alluring style. Like many convertibles, this Mazda Miata MX-5 offers a manual-retractable roof which has two small punctures which are presented in my photos. The Suspension on this Miata offers a great smooth ride even at high rates of speed and with the tan colored leather upholstery; it also offers the luxury that you would want in a sporty car. The timing belt, water-pump, and radiator have been replaced in the last six months. This car starts and runs great, but no warranty is offered or accompanied with this sale

With a certified rating of 4.6 out of 5, this Miata with: only ~120,000 miles, an aftermarket custom installed pioneer head unit stereo with CD and auxiliary access, cruise control, great fuel economy, luxury leather seats, a rear glass window on the retractable roof, power locks, a Bose entertainment system, a DOHC 16-valve 2.0 liter engine, and of course the enjoyment of being a convertible, this car is perfect for adults and even young drivers.

RECAP:

  • 2.0L I4 DOHC 16-valve Engine

  • Driver and Passenger Airbags

  • 4-Speed Automatic Transmission

  • Four Wheel Independent Suspension

  • Manual-Retractable Roof

  • Aftermarket Pioneer head unit with CD/Aux input

  • Bose Audio entertainment speakers

  • 14 Inch Alloy Wheels

Patent application suggests Mazda rotary return

Mon, Apr 4 2016

A recent patent application by Mazda reveals that the Japanese automaker is still working on the rotary engine. This could in fact be the Skyactiv-R engine found in the RX-Vision concept from the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. As with anything Wankel-related, nothing is certain until Mazda makes a production commitment. But this filing suggests that serious development is happening in Hiroshima. The 2011 Mazda RX-8 was the last rotary-powered car you could buy in America. Slow sales, poor fuel economy, and tighter emissions standards prevented Mazda from committing to a follow-up. But the fundamental principles of the rotary - compact size and light weight - perfectly fit Mazda's Skyactiv ethos. (For an explanation of how rotaries work, click here.) In this new engine the intake port sits at the bottom of the engine with the exhaust port on top instead of the other way around. That allows for lower mounting, which improves a car's center of gravity. This rotary is also turbocharged. Putting the turbo up high helps ensure it doesn't get in the way of any body or chassis crossmembers. The implication of those claims is that somebody is thinking about how to put this engine in a car. There are other benefits as well. The short path from the exhaust port to the turbo ensures minimal turbo lag. It also allows for a close-mounted catalyst on top of the enigne, which will help emissions. Another innovation in this new engine is a triangle-shaped rotor that covers part of the exhaust port. This allows for different exhaust flow characteristics. The filing claims that that two of the four orientations allow for less airflow resistance in the exhaust port. As in previous Mazda rotaries, there are two spark plugs to manage ignition timing and combustion. But unlike in the 16X concept, Mazda's last public display of such an engine, the new rotary uses port fuel injection. Keep in mind this is only a patent application. A Mazda spokesperson refused to comment on future product, but commented "As we stated at the Tokyo motor show, Mazda is doing all that it can to bring a rotary to the market." In the meantime, keep your RX-7 prayer candles lit and hope for the return of the rotary before the end of the decade. You can bide your time by reading the entire application here. Las Vegas reporter makes literal street food

Tue, Jun 21 2016

A reporter in the American Southwest did a test to see just how hot it was this week, and received her just deserts. With a promised high of 115 degrees in the Las Vegas Valley on June 20, Caitlin Lilly and Kira Terry of the Las Vegas Review-Journal decided to find out if they could bake cookies and cook breakfast using just the ambient heat of the day and some handy flat surfaces. First, the pair attempted to bake a couple dozen pre-mixed cookies on the dashboard of a Mazda. Starting around 1:00 pm, they left the cookies on a sheet tray propped up beneath the car's un-tinted windows. By 5:00 pm the cookies were done and, according to various R-J staffers, quite delicious. While the cookies were baking, they decided to make themselves something a little more substantial, something to justify the desert they had baking in the Mazda. They found a nice patch of parking lot and tried to fry an egg, some bacon, and a handful of shrimp. The shrimp cooked quickly, as shrimp are wont to do, but after 20 minutes the bacon only browned at the edges while staying raw in the middle. The egg remained uncooked, unfortunately, since even the hottest asphalt isn't hot enough to actually fry an egg. Record high temperatures are baking the American Southwest and Southern California as the region suffers the effects of a weather phenomenon called a " heat dome." Highs of over 100 degrees were reported throughout SoCal, Arizona, and Nevada, which is surprising for mid-June. The threat of wildfires is already astronomical, and people are suffering from heat-related illnesses. Recent Video:

2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata in motion for the first time

Fri, 05 Sep 2014

By now, you've already poured over the details (however few there may be) and images of the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata. For us enthusiasts, it's arguably the most important new car debut of the year, and for Mazda, it marks the 25th anniversary of its iconic roadster - something that's being celebrated all weekend long out in Monterey, CA.
Our resident Miata owner, Chris Paukert, is out in sunny California and just passed along this video, showing all four generations of the MX-5 in motion (slowly), on the road at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. This is the first time the 2016 MX-5 has been shown driving under its own power, and it will join a wealth of other roadsters as Mazda attempts to break the world record for most Miatas in one place at one time.
Have a look at the emailed-from-an-iPhone-quality video above, and then take a moment to read Paukert's own notes from the ND Miata's live showing earlier this week, here.
