Showroom Like! Yes...it's really that nice. First generation NA Miata with 68k miles. Locally bought and always pampered roadster is a 9 out of 10 exterior (paint is fabulous, just a couple touch up nicks around the fuel filler area) and an honest 9.8 out of 10 interior. Car was bought right here in Central Kentucky and never has seen rain (besides getting caught in it few times in it/and never been out in the winter . If I sat you in this car and said its a 3 year old model you'd believe me. Look at the pics of the engine bay and how clean the engine wells are...convertible top and window are perfect (replace just before I got the car). I am a car confessed car junky and I am very particular about every detail and this is the nicest 20+ year old car I have every owned. No matter how hard you clean on an older car you can't bring back that "new" feeling, and for some reason this car still has some of that "new" feeling about it! No drips, leaks, funny noises shimmies or shakes. And if you like driving as much as looking at this car then it is a must drive. 5 speed, double wishbone suspension , perfect 50/50 weight balance with fantastic handling on new rims and tires (I have the original steelies that came on the car) The car is mostly stock with no engine or drive train modifications...only some tasteful bolt on appearance items that could easily be remove. I think its got the perfect look and stance. The pics don't do it justice. Honestly there's not much else to say...AC blows cold and actually nothing on this one doesn't work or do what it suppose too. Jay Leno recently said these first years are the next collectible cars and this one is as nice as they come. Yes, u can buy one with 125k...150k...175k (a testament on how well these cars were built) for maybe half the price, but I believe you'd find them to be half the car. I get around 30 mpg too! Inexpensive to own, drive, insure and maintain...you will not be disappointed in my car.. I really am hoping a Miata enthusiast will add this to his/her collection! PLEASE bid to buy, all good ebayers must start from 0, but I will watch closely if low number bidders (who bid on 10 different cars) start running up this auction. I am a veteran of ebay both good and bad, so I know how this works. I live right next to the airport here in Lexington, and will be happy to pick you up and see you off in a great 'lil roadster. Look at my feedback and bid with confidence...Please feel free to call me with question or comments... 859- 8 0 6-90 four 5

Half of Chinese car buyers won't shop Japanese over hard feelings
Mon, May 26 2014The hard feelings between China and Japan is no real secret. Besides modern-day disputes, the two countries have had a long-running enmity that dates back to well before the atrocities of World War II. All things considered, then, it shouldn't be a shock that half of Chinese car buyers wouldn't consider a Japanese car. This survey, conducted by Bernstein Research, found that 51 percent of 40,000 Chinese consumers wouldn't even consider a Japanese car – which, again, isn't really surprising, when you consider stories like this. According to Bernstein, the most troubling thing is the location of these sentiments – smaller, growing cities where the population is going to need sets of wheels. We imagine it wouldn't be as big of an issue in traffic-clogged Shanghai or Beijing, but these small cities are going to become a major focus for automakers. "Nationalistic feelings are an impediment. [Japanese] premium brands will struggle," analyst Max Warburton wrote in a research note, according to The Wall Street Journal. Things will improve for Japanese makes, although China will remain a challenge, with Warburton writing, "the one thing that comes out most clearly is that most Chinese really want a German car. While we expect Japanese brands to continue to recover market share this year, ultimately the market will belong to the Germans." There are a few other insights from the study. According to WSJ, Japanese brands are viewed better than Korean brands, and they're seen as more comfortable than the offerings from Germany or the US, despite the fact that everyone in China apparently wants a German car. This is a tough position for the Japanese makes to be in, as there's really not a lot they can do to win favor with Chinese buyers. It will be interesting to see how this plays out, particularly as the importance of the PRC continues to increase year after year. 2016 Mazda CX-3 First Drive
Fri, May 1 2015If there's any doubt in your mind about the importance of B-segment crossovers, consider this: our review of the 2016 Mazda CX-3 arrives on your screen less than 24 hours after our first test of the 2016 Honda HR-V. Both of these vehicles are hugely important entries for their respective automakers. And while they take a similar shape and will compete head to head, the truth is, they're very different products. The HR-V is a knockout because of its excellent packaging and added versatility over Honda's own Fit and Civic. It's a wholly competent product, and we imagine it'll be one of, if not the best-selling vehicle in the class. In terms of being desirable for customers, it checks all the necessary boxes: frugal, functional, efficient, and affordable. Mazda takes a similar approach, but focuses instead on its key strength of offering cars that are great to drive, and look damn good. What's more, the CX-3 won't have to share showroom space as the HR-V does with the Fit – the all-new Mazda2 isn't slated for the US right now. Instead, the new CUV will serve as an entry point into the brand. Because of this, Mazda is betting big on the CX-3. That all starts with a product that's appealing to the eye. Design director Derek Jenkins says Mazda "didn't want to do the funky route" with its compact CUV – a nudge to the Nissan Juke and Fiat 500X, right there. Instead, the CX-3 uses the Kodo design language that Mazda has perfected since its production debut on the CX-5 in 2012. Across the board, the company's products look incredible, and the CX-3 is right at home amongst Mazda's latest beauties. Notice the long hood with a flowing character line that runs over the front fender and down the body side, chiseled off at the end with tight rear proportions and a small overhang. Huge arches draw focus to the premium 18-inch wheels found on our Grand Touring CX-3, but swallow up the 16-inch rollers used on lesser models. The glass area is kept to a minimum, but visibility from inside is still quite good. Details like the LED accents in the head- and taillamps look premium and aggressive. From all angles, this is an attractive crossover. It's a bold, dynamic entry in a class filled with cutesy, oddball, and bland designs. Underneath the CX-3 is the Skyactiv chassis found in the new Mazda2. At 168.3 inches long, 69.6 inches wide, and 60.7 inches tall, the CX-3 is smaller than the Mazda3 in every dimension except height.
Mazda CEO closes door on talk of RX sports car revival
Mon, 10 Nov 2014Some rumors in the auto industry simply refuse to die. Over the last decade, a few of the strongest have focused on Japan. A few years ago, we could have explained away the constant whispering over a new Toyota Supra, Acura NSX or Mazda RX-7 as nostalgia for Japan's golden era of performance. Today, though is different.
We already have the Nissan GT-R, and, thanks to the Toyota FT-1 Concept, a Supra successor finally appears to be on the way. Acura will someday, allegedly, deliver on its promise to put the NSX on sale. So where does that leave the third member of the Japanese performance trio mentioned above? Well, um, it still isn't happening.
"We don't have that kind of vehicle in our future product plan," Mazda CEO Masamichi Kogai told Automotive News when asked about a successor to the rotary-powered RX line. "If you increase the number of segments, then the resources we can allocate to each will decline and that will prevent us from developing truly good products."
