1992 Mazda Miata M Convertible 2-door 1.6l Nice Original Condition on 2040-cars
Hazleton, Pennsylvania, United States
Up for sale is my 1992 Mazda Miata MX-5 M edition. It is in original condition except for the new top and after market cd player and I do believe it to have its original paint but you can tell it had some rust repair on the rockers but other than that I believe it to be completely original.
Everything works on the car except for the power antenna which attempts to go up and down but fails to do so, it is available here on ebay for under $50.00. The only other thing I know is wrong with it is the ABS light is blinking a 10 code which means that the sensor is bad I found the necessary part here on ebay from $70.00 to $110.00 or if your savvy with a soldering iron you can fix it your self for free. The windows are a little slow but they do go up and down and there is the typical clatter upon first starting it up but it clears instantly this is also a common thing with these Miata's and nothing to worry about.
The body is in real nice shape considering it is 3 years away from being considered an Antique Car here in Pennsylvania. There are obviously scratches and spots where they were deep enough that someone attempted to fix with touch up paint but no dents or major dings and there are chips here and there. Other than the typical wear and tear on a 22 year old vehicle this Miata is nice. The interior is in great shape also, not to say its perfect but it is in really nice condition again considering the age.
I just had a new top put on, rear breaks and rotors and the person that I bought it from told me he had the clutch done about two years ago. I also replaced the head rest speakers and door panel speakers.
The car runs and drives great you would never guess it was 22 years old if you drove it. I love it and thoroughly enjoy driving it but I have too many toys and the wife says it has to go.
I was astonished to find out that these Miata's have become very collectible and the high retail is $8,500.00 on it and an average retail of $5,475.00 my asking price is negotiable so don't hesitate to make an offer. Also anyone is more than welcome to come and look it over and take it for a test drive you wont be disappointed! I'm located in Hazleton, PA 18201 and I can be reached at 570-582-0843 names Tony

Car Club USA: Miatas at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca
Tue, Nov 17 2015The Mazda MX-5 Miata is a very popular car for weekend warriors looking for the thrill of automotive racing in an affordable package. These iconic, rear-wheel-drive roadsters are lauded by enthusiasts for their driving dynamics, reasonable price, and plethora of available parts. That's why the annual Miatas at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca track event draws such a diverse cross section of drivers from allover the country. But, still, some types of drivers are more well-represented than others. "I usually am the only female signed up for the high-performance driving," said Carolyn Kulaja of Gila Monster Racing. "The car doesn't care the gender of the person driving." For Carolyn, racing Miatas is a passion that developed later in life, but she's not slowing down anytime soon. "My first racecar was car number 57, which was my age when I started racing," said Carolyn. "The 88 I decided was going to be my age when I quit racing." Young competitor Kyle Koh of Infotech Motorsports has his own reasons for racing. "Driving has changed my life in a major way," said Kyle. "It took me out of a depression." Kyle's first competitive fire was directed toward football, but after breaking his back during his sophomore year of high school, he had to find another outlet. "Kyle came to me one day and he decided that he wanted a project car," explained Kyle's father and racing partner Larry Koh. "Because the Miata community is so friendly to begin with, it becomes a big family." How will Carolyn and Kyle fare through Laguna Seca's infamous corkscrew? Find out on this episode of Car Club USA. Each Car Club USA episode features a different car club or event from across the US, where passionate owner communities gather to share automotive experiences and embark on incredible adventures. Mazda RX-9 could be a 400-hp, 2,900-pound coupe due in 2019
Wed, Aug 24 2016Mazda poured fuel on the white-hot rumors of an RX-8 successor with the RX-Vision earlier this year. The long, low rotary-powered coupe was lovely, but as we reported, it wasn't going to happen. But now, there's another chapter in the RX rumormill, and like overnight parts, it's from Japan. Japanese site Holiday Auto claims that Mazda will debut the so-called RX-9 at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. But before that happens, the Zoom-Zoom company will preview the production model with a concept at next year's Tokyo Motor Show. 2017 is important, marking 50 years since Felix Wankel had the screwy idea for his eponymous engine and 40 years after the company's first rotary powered car, the Cosmo, hit the market. Exciting as Holiday Auto's report is, the stats on this long-rumored car are better – via Google Translate, the Japanese site claims the RX-9 will use a 1.6-liter, two-rotor Wankel with a single turbocharger. It's good for around 400 horsepower. Holiday Auto isn't exaggerating when it claims the car could have "bike-like acceleration." As with other Mazda products, a low curb weight is key, which is why engineers are targeting a meager 1,300 kilograms (2,866 pounds) for the production model – that weight should be pretty evenly split, too, thanks to a rear transaxle. So yes, the RX-9 will be stupid fast and extremely agile. But it will come at a cost. And by cost, we mean that the RX-9 will start just south of eight million yen. That's $79,641 at today's rates, or enough to purchase about 2.5 RX-8 R3s, the hardcore handling trim of Mazda's last-gen rotary car. And if Mazda follows Nissan's GT-R pricing model, we'll see a six-figure RX-9 by 2025. When it comes to Mazda rotary rumors, grains of salt are a must. That's doubly true when we're talking about a possible concept that won't debut for over a year. But with the RX-Vision, Mazda showed that it hasn't abandoned rotary power, and with 2017 marking a big anniversary for the technology, it seems unlikely that the company will let the date pass without some acknowledgement. A concept car seems like a solid bet. Related Video:
A '70s F1 car and a first-gen Miata make an amazing lovechild
Mon, Aug 22 2016For no apparent reason, this artist asked what if Mazda built an MX-5-based F1 car? And what if it were from the 1970s, the glory days of James Hunt and Niki Lauda? Here's what it'd look like. Look at it! Look at its adorable little eyes and the huge tires. And the intake! The rendering is by YasidDesign and was done live in front of Facebook followers in a Facebook Live session. It borrows heavily from 1970s F1 cars – it looks like a March 741 served as the basis for the open-wheel portion – and blends it effortlessly with MX-5 styling cues. It all came together in about 90 minutes. Watching the process is remarkable, especially considering YasidDesign is doing the bulk of the work live while taking comments and advice from people on Facebook. Check out the video and YasidDesign's other works on his Facebook page. Related Video:
