1990 Mazda Miata Priced To Sell Clean Title Classic All Original on 2040-cars
Columbia, Maryland, United States
This was my father's fun car. He only drove it on nice days during the summertime. Otherwise it was kept in a heated garage.
The car is in excellent condition and super-clean. The car runs great...if you are available to do so, please consider a test drive. My father fussed over this car, wrapping the plastic window in a soft towel to prevent scratches whenever he put it down. He used to remind me not to slam the door when exiting the car. Only a few members of my family were permitted to drive dad's car and it was always handled carefully and treated with respect. We have many of the original documents, including the window sticker and owner's manuals. We also have major service records. Although the car is generally in fine shape, there are a few minor flaws in the finish. On three spots (the edge of the driver's door, the jam of the driver's door, and on the passenger-side front fender) the red finish has worn away, exposing the white prime coat (see photos). Also, there is a small scratch on the driver's door (see photo). In addition there are a few small, shallow dents in the passenger side front fender (see photos). Finally, there is a shallow dent in the passenger side door. The cassette player may or may not be functioning. We have only one cassette that came with the car and it does not play. Otherwise, everything looks good and functions as it should. All questions and reasonable offers are welcomed. No trades will be considered. We have been asked about the re-title that occurred recently showing the car's mileage at 14K...this discrepancy occurred when my mother had the car re-titled when my father passed away and failed to update the mileage. We have service records from an authorized Mazda dealer verifying that the car's mileage was 25K in 2009 and 26K in 2012. |

Toyota, Mazda drop Takata as Mitsubishi, Subaru weigh options
Sat, Nov 7 2015It's not a very good time to be Takata right now. Fresh on the heels of longtime partner Honda ditching them, Toyota and Mazda have both come out and said they will not use the company's airbag inflators if they continue to rely on ammonium nitrate. Bloomberg reports that Subaru and Mitsubishi are also contemplating a divorce. "The inflator using ammonium nitrate produced by Takata will not be adopted by Toyota," President Akio Toyoda said during a briefing today. "What's most important above anything else is the safety and peace of mind of customers." Mazda echoed that position, simply saying it "will not use Takata airbag inflators which contain ammonium nitrate in our new cars." When you lose three huge OEM accounts in as many days, it's certainly going to have a deleterious effect on your fortunes. In Takata's case, that's meant a staggering 39-percent drop in their share price over the last three days. Yesterday alone, the company saw a 6.2-percent fall, Bloomberg reports. As the business publication reports, though, Takata isn't going down without a fight. The company is "considering some plans to survive," including a fundraising plan that will see it potentially offer up additional shares for sale. Still, at least one analyst doesn't see whatever company survives staying involved in the airbag inflator business. "I really don't see how they're going to be able to survive as an inflator manufacturer," Valient Market Research founder Scott Upham told Bloomberg. "When your major clients publicly come out and say that they're not going to use your products anymore, it makes this very difficult to sustain your business." 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata in motion for the first time
Fri, 05 Sep 2014By now, you've already poured over the details (however few there may be) and images of the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata. For us enthusiasts, it's arguably the most important new car debut of the year, and for Mazda, it marks the 25th anniversary of its iconic roadster - something that's being celebrated all weekend long out in Monterey, CA.
Our resident Miata owner, Chris Paukert, is out in sunny California and just passed along this video, showing all four generations of the MX-5 in motion (slowly), on the road at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. This is the first time the 2016 MX-5 has been shown driving under its own power, and it will join a wealth of other roadsters as Mazda attempts to break the world record for most Miatas in one place at one time.
Have a look at the emailed-from-an-iPhone-quality video above, and then take a moment to read Paukert's own notes from the ND Miata's live showing earlier this week, here.
Mazda MX-5 breeds upgraded Roadster RS in Japan
Mon, Oct 5 2015Fans of the new Mazda MX-5 Miata looking for something a little more performance-focused may be enticed by the new RS model. Unfortunately they'll have to go all the way to Japan to get it. Because Mazda will only be offering this particular version back home. The new RS version of the Mazda Roadster (as it's known in Japan) features a number of performance upgrades, although none of them specifically affect the engine or its output. The Roadster RS features Bilstein dampers and front suspension tower brace for better handling, along with bigger brakes for added stopping power, a retuned steering rack for sharper turn-in, and upgraded exhaust for a better sound. Inside it's also been treated to heated Recaro seats with Nappa leather and Alcantara trim and a nine-speaker Bose audio system. It also comes equipped with adaptive front lighting and high-beam control as well as lane-departure and blind-spot warning systems. Feeling left out yet? Don't be too disappointed, or book that ticket to Tokyo's Natita International Airport just yet. The Mazda Roadster RS only comes with the smaller 1.5-liter engine that produces 129 horsepower, which is significantly less than the 2.0L we get here at 155 hp. It does, however, come with the six-speed manual instead of the automatic. So while this may not be the most powerful version of the Miata, it may be the enthusiast favorite – at least in the JDM.
