Hi happy bidders! I am currently looking to sell my MazdaSpeed6. I love this car and it has become 'part of the family', but with a 2-year-old, it is just not practical anymore. We are reluctantly selling it and hoping a car/mazdaspeed enthusiast will enjoy it as much as we do. We are looking for it to go to a 'good home' and get used for the purposes that it was made. This is an amazing car to drive and handles great. It has a few small door dings (from jerks in parking lots), but overall has been kept/maintained in great condition. The vehicle has a small 1.5 inch hairline crack in the front, bottom part of the bumper (hardly noticeable in the photos above, or in person).

SPECS: New engine with only 15,485 miles on it (The new engine was installed at 76,308 original miles). The engine was purchased directly from Mazda and installed at NorthPark Mazda (San Antonio) by licensed Mazda technicians. New battery, top posts and shocks. It is set-up for a boost controller (Not included) and has a full-length dual exhaust (estimated at $5K). Momo stick shift and pedals. New tires and rims. MazdaSpeed cold air intake system with serial numbers. 6-disc CD changer with Bose surround sound. Frame number under the passenger floor mat. 19/25 mpg -- Super unleaded/Unleaded Plus gasoline only. Manual transmission (6 speed). Top speeds of 149+ mph and Zero to 60 mph in less than 6.2 seconds (although I have never gone that fast). Speedometers top speed is 180 mph. A few other features are not mentioned, but the pictures should show you what it has (roughly, the vehicle has $12k+ worth of after market parts).

Garage kept. Smoke free and pet free. Vehicle comes with 2 'credit card size' proximity keys.

For sale as is, no warranty.

No delivery is offered on this vehicle. Local pick-up only.

Serious inquires only please.

Mazda Miata could get retractable hardtop in New York

Fri, Mar 11 2016

The upcoming New York Auto Show just got a little more exciting because Mazda could debut the latest MX-5 Miata with a power retractable hardtop there. The best evidence comes from Autocar, which has an image of Mazda's invitation. The message promises a "world premiere" in the Big Apple and further teases, "Help us blow the lid off the New York Auto Show." The last Miata PRHT made up 52 percent of the roadster's sales mix in the US, so creating another one is an easy decision for the company. According to Autocar, expect the new roof mechanism to be lighter and more compact than the previous design. It would still add some weight compared to the cloth top, but customers would get the added insulation and security from the hardtop. With the NC PRHT as a guide, don't expect many changes for the new other than the roof. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 155 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque with either the six-speed manual or automatic should still make for an exciting drive. The hardtop just makes life a little more comfortable if you have to deal with rain or snow for part of the year. We can't wait to see it. Related Video:

Rumored Mazda CX-3 may not be for US

Tue, 18 Feb 2014

Mazda has used its Kodo design language to make some of the most attractive, affordable cars in the world right now, with the Mazda3, Mazda6 and CX-5 (pictured above), but it still lacks a crossover in the smaller class, which are becoming popular on the world market. It seems like a natural fit then, that the Japanese company would shrink its CUV design even smaller for a CX-3 to fill the gap. However, a rumor suggests that the compact might not make it to these shores.
The Mazda2-based crossover is due later this summer in Japan and is launching in Europe and emerging markets later, according to Automotive News citing a report in Japan's Nikkei newspaper. The little CUV would cost between 1.5 million yen and 2.0 million yen ($14,700-$19,500) in Japan and be available with diesel and petrol engine options. However, the report made no mention of selling it in North America. There is a glimmer of a chance for the CX-3 here. Mazda is upgrading its Mexican factory to 230,000 annual unit capacity by 2016, which gives it the room to add the new vehicle.
While the midsize CUVs are hugely popular in the US, compacts like the Buick Encore are still a small portion of things. If Mazda could time the CX-3's launch right here, it could take advantage of the lack of competition.

So, just how different are the Fiat 124 Spider and Mazda MX-5 Miata?

Wed, Nov 18 2015

"We leveraged a great platform." That's how Bob Broderdorf, Jr., Fiat's North American director, summarizes the creation of the 124 Spider. We all know Fiat's new roadster shares its underpinnings with the fourth-generation Mazda MX-5 Miata, but there are a lot of key differences to keep them separate in the eyes of consumers. Mazda may have engineered the platform, but Fiat added many of its own touches. Here, we'll take a closer look at the spec sheets of the two cars, and summarize the major differences between the Japanese and Italian roadsters. If you need a refresher, read our full First Drive of the 2016 MX-5 Miata, and glance at all the Fiat 124 Spider details in this post. Design Fiat Chrysler design lead Ralph Gilles is super excited about this car. "I think it's going to change lives," he told the assembled media at an event in Auburn Hills, MI, earlier this month. Yes, it's definitely exciting to add a small roadster to any lineup, especially one that uses such a proven platform. But we're not sure people are going to get all that jazzed about it from a design standpoint. You'll either love it or hate it, and we're kind of leaning toward the latter. Every single body panel is new, and the design is "100 percent Italian." There are a number of creases and angles throughout the exterior, with a squared-off rear end and rectangular taillamps. Fiat trusts you'll be able to spot the similarities between the new 124 Spider and the original, but we're not so sure. We can see a bit of the old car's grille on the new car's face, and the dual hood blisters are a nice throwback touch, but that's about it. Trust us when we say that this car looks way better in photos. In person, it really didn't wow us. Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. One colleague told us his wife, a long-time Miata owner, hates the look of the new one but will absolutely adore the Fiat. Good for her, and good for Fiat. But based on design alone, we'll take the Mazda every single time. What about you? Dimensions When Broderdorf said Fiat leveraged the Miata's platform, that means the Italians took it as-is. The two cars ride on an identical, 90.9-inch wheelbase. The front and rear tracks lengths are the same, at 58.9 and 59.1 inches, respectively. But that's where the similarities end.
