This was my commuter car and I had bought from a friend of mine who made modifications and took care of the car like his little baby.  He bought the car with 30k miles and sold to me when it had about 130k.  I had the car about a year and was the third owner.  My friend did the following to the car.1. he put a system on it and it still has the wiring, 2. He changed the lights to LED and made the backs clear. 3. Put dual exhaust muffler with silencer. 4. drop the car in general.  The car is very clean inside and out. check out the videos and pictures.

The BAD -

My wife drove the car through flooding and water got in the engine and lock it up.  No water got inside the car, but it definitely got into the engine. I do not want to go through the hassle of getting it fixed and I do not know the extent of the damage to the engine, but it is a good chance you will need a new engine.  The car does not start and you will need to tow it away.  If you get the engine fixed you will have a very good car in your hands.

Let me know if you have any questions and the car is being sold as is and would need to move it as quickly as possible.  parking is at a premium were I live and need the spot that is being occupied.

Mazda Miata getting i-ELOOP regenerative 'braking' in more markets

Wed, Jan 8 2020

The Mazda MX-5 Miata is getting the company's i-ELOOP regenerative "braking" system in more overseas markets. A few months ago, the company announced it for the Japanese market, and this week it announced the U.K. will have the feature, too. This has us curious as to whether it will be offered on U.S. market Miatas. We've reached out to Mazda, and we'll update this story if and when we hear back. As a quick refresher, i-ELOOP is a system that was introduced here on the Mazda6 several years ago, and it adds a capacitor to store electricity generated by the alternator during deceleration (hence our earlier use of quotes around "braking") that can be used to run interior accessories such as the sound system and climate control. Then, with power coming from the capacitor, the alternator can be disengaged, improving the efficiency of the engine by reducing drag. And by using a capacitor rather than a battery, the system is more compact, lighter and able to recharge faster than a similarly capacious conventional battery. As for effectiveness, the Mazda6 with i-ELOOP managed to get about 5% more miles per gallon on the highway than one without, going from 38 mpg to 40 mpg. While not a massive improvement, it was a measurable, possibly noticeable one. Applying a similar gain to a Miata would increase fuel economy from 35 to nearly 36.75 mpg on the highway, based on the automatic-equipped car's numbers. The manual would go from 34 to nearly 35.7. The i-ELOOP system is standard on all new Miatas in the U.K., which includes the 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter engines with either the manual transmission or automatic. Strangely, only automatic-equipped cars get it in Japan. This means Mazda could offer it on both transmission options in the U.S. Probably the key consideration will be cost. The system, when it launched in the U.S., was only available on the most expensive Mazda6, and even then it was an extra-cost option. And looking at pricing for the U.K. Miata soft-top and comparing equivalent trim levels, the price has increased between GBP2,800 and GBP4,100. The new model does get some new standard safety features, too, but we expect the i-ELOOP system is a significant contributor. If it is offered in the U.S., it might only be available as an option, and possibly only on the more expensive trim levels to keep lower trims more affordable. Next-gen Mazda3 teased in new video, should debut next month

Wed, Oct 17 2018

Despite being one of the oldest vehicles in its class, the third-gen Mazda3 is still a favorite here at Autoblog. It's handsome, comfortable and one of the best-driving compacts around. While we had hoped to see a new Mazdaspeed3 hot hatch before this model expired, it seems that's not the case. Today, Mazda released a short teaser video showing a very brief glimpse of what appears to be a new hatchback. A caption says there's more to come next month. That leads us to believe we'll see the next Mazda3 in late November at or around the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. We don't know much about the new model, though it does look like the hatchback will carry over. That's no surprise given the Chevy Cruze, Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, and Hyundai Elantra all offer five-door variants. You can include the hatch-only Volkswagen Golf on that list, too. The sedan is a given considering how popular the body style is in America. Expect the design to draw a lot from the Mazda Kai concept we saw last fall. It's harder to say what Mazda might stuff under the new 3's hood. Skyactiv-X would be great, but the compression-ignition gasoline engine likely won't be ready in time for the Mazda3's debut. That's a shame, as the engine shows a lot of promise and would be a good and unique feature for Mazda. Until the EV infrastructure improves and the associated costs go down, more efficient internal-combustion engines will still have a place in the market. Check out further info on the Skyactiv-X technology here, and stay tuned later next month for more news from Mazda. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. 2020 Mazda CX-3 adds active safety features plus Apple CarPlay, Android Auto

Thu, Jan 9 2020

The CX-3, Mazda's smallest crossover offering, shrinks its showroom footprint for 2020, as the brand makes room for the newly introduced CX-30 just above it in the lineup. The 2020 CX-3 is cut back from three trim levels to just one, although that single offering is bolstered with additional standard equipment including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which come to the CX-3 for the first time. Even more significantly, Mazda is adding as standard a batch of active-safety features that includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, and automatic high beams—formerly an option package costing $1,100. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert were already standard and continue. The 2020 CX-3 also gains automatic climate control, a head-up display, rain-sensing wipers and LED exterior lighting. For all that, the 2020 CX-3's prices rise just $250 over the 2019 CX-3 figures. The starting figure for the 2020 Mazda CX-3 Sport is $21,685 with front-wheel drive or $23,085 with all-wheel drive (including $1,045 destination). The other news for the 2020 CX-3 is that the Touring and Grand Touring trims have been dropped. Which means that the features exclusive to those trims, such as leather seating surfaces, a power sunroof, heated seats, a heated steering wheel, and a power driver's seat, are no longer offered. Buyers seeking those niceties perhaps are now expected to step up to the CX-30 — although it's not a big leap, with the CX-30 starting at $22,945.
