2005 Mazda 6 I Sedan 4-door 2.3l on 2040-cars
Yakima, Washington, United States
I am selling my '05 Mazda 6i. It has been an amazing car and a very fun car to own. Its a good car for a new driver. Here has what has been done to the vehicle. *H&R lowering springs *RX8 wheels powder coated black. *Wagner prototype headers *Wagner downpipe with high flow cat. *Custom 2.5 inch exhaust from cat back to mufflers *Magnaflow mufflers(brand new) *AEM short ram intake. *Cordova optimized throttle bottle that has been honed for better flow. *2.0 oil spin conversion kit *Nextmod front lips, and side skirts *RX8 bucket seats *Grill, hood and spoiler were all custom painted black. *R1 concept slotted disc brakes. I am running hankook low profile in the back not sure what is in the front. I just replaced the up stream o2 sensor. Last year this time I made the mistake of taking the car to a jiffy lube to get an oil change because I was in a hurry and they forgot to put the bolt to my oil pan back in all the way and the oil leaked out and blew my engine. My insurance ended up sewing jiffy lube and buying me a motor with 55,000 on it and had an authorized dealer put that in. To be honest the car runs better then it did, to me anyways. If you have anymore questions about this please message me and I will gladly respond. Also if you need more pictures please ask. I changed the oil every 3,000-5,000 because I run synthetic. The top glove compartment is popped up, I just never ordered a new one. The other issue is the back bumper was swiped by a lady.Minor black scrapes on the driver side rear bumper. I have new lug nuts in my trunk for who ever to put on. I am sure I left out a couple things so feel free to ask I am the second owner of the car. It is a 4 cylinder but is very quick for a 4 cylinder and you get the good gas mileage. Win Win :) |

2016 Mazda2 won't come to the US
Mon, May 25 2015Hoping to get your hands on the new Mazda2? Don't get your hopes up too high, because the latest word has it that the new hatchback won't be available in the United States. According to the report from Automotive News, Mazda's US office has decided against bringing the new Mazda2 to American showrooms. This despite it being made just south of the border in Salamanca, Mexico. The reasons are apparently two-fold. For starters, Mazda sales offices around the world have been clamoring for larger allotments of the new 2, and the company can only supply so many. "We could have had it, but we would have had a number that didn't make much sense with 600 dealers and with the marketing it takes to launch a new car," Robert Davis, Mazda's senior VP of US sales operations, told AN. For another, Mazda is apparently not convinced the new supermini would resonate with US buyers, who are increasingly migrating towards crossovers. So Mazda is focusing instead on "products that make us and our dealers considerably more profit than a Mazda2 does." That doesn't mean the latest Mazda2 will be entirely out of our reach forever, though. The company's agreement with Toyota will see a sedan version sold in the US as the Scion iA. Mazda is also certifying it to US safety and environmental standards so that it can sell the 2 in Puerto Rico, which means that it wouldn't take much to change course and bring the hatchback into the US in the future: "It'll always be there if we need it," Davis told AN. Reached for comment, a spokesman for Mazda's North American operations told Autoblog that "The Mazda2 launch in the U.S. market is on hold in order to evaluate the B-Car segment and enable us the opportunity to focus on the launches of the refreshed Mazda6 and CX-5, and the all-new MX-5 roadster and CX-3 subcompact crossover SUV." That leaves the aforementioned CX-3 - which is, incidentally, based on the same architecture as the Mazda2 - as the smallest mainstream model that Mazda will offer Stateside.
Mazda 16X rotary engine two years away, will arrive in all-new model
Fri, 16 Aug 2013We last reported on Mazda's next-generation rotary engine project in June of 2012 when the automaker built its last Renesis-powered RX-8, but rumors of this new engine's development had been around way before that final car left the production line in Japan, last year.
We now have enthusiastic confirmation that this next-gen rotary engine is really and truly going forward. It is still referred to as 16X and has several priorities. First is to lower fuel consumption compared to the RX-8's engine, while still making gains in terms of performance. The second is to reduce the burning of oil that was happening at the highest revs. And the third and final priority, and perhaps most key for enthusiasts, is to give the powertrain a big torque upgrade.
What we were told by a Mazda USA insider (while we are all here together at the festivities in Monterey) is that the first application of the new 16X engine will be happening in two years' time in an as yet undisclosed new model. Oh, the mind races to our eternal Mazda wish list...
100k Mazda6 sedans recalled over tire-monitoring systems
Wed, Nov 26 2014A tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) is, as you might have guessed, designed to monitor the air pressure in the tires, and alert the driver if pressure drops. But a problem found in the Mazda6 could keep the system from doing its job. According to the recall notice issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the TPMS in the Mazda6 might not recognize a loss in tire pressure if all the tires slowly deflate at the same time. Under-inflated tires, it goes without saying, could increase the risk of a crash. As a result, Mazda is recalling 99,711 examples of the 2014-2015 Mazda6 to have the system's software updated. RECALL Subject : Tire Pressure Monitoring System/FMVSS 138 Report Receipt Date: OCT 27, 2014 NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V675000 Component(s): TIRES Potential Number of Units Affected: 99,711 Manufacturer: Mazda North American Operations SUMMARY: Mazda North American Operations (Mazda) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Mazda6 vehicles manufactured October 25, 2012, to October 10, 2014. If the pressures of four of the tires on an affected vehicle gradually drop at the same time, the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) may not warn the driver of the drop in pressure. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring System." CONSEQUENCE: A vehicle that is driven with under inflated tires may experience a sudden tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash. REMEDY: Mazda will notify owners, and dealers will update the TPMS software, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on December 10, 2014. Owners may contact Mazda customer service at 1-800-222-5500. NOTES: Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
