Condition: I was drawn to the Mazda 3 i Touring it because of the great safety ratings and reviews of other owners saying how much they enjoyed driving the car. During the test drive I realized that it turns on a dime and has great acceleration with a sporty feel. I average about 32 mpg, for a mixture of city and hwy. It has similar road noise to other cars in its class and size, but it is not too noticeable. It is a very fun car to drive and comfortable. I am tall (5'10") and sit comfortably, as well as others who are in the 6'1"-6'3" range. Have been taking the car in for routine maintenance every 5,000 miles.

Unscheduled maintenance:
-Had to replace one tire because of glass on the highway, all others are still in good condition.
-Someone backed into the front side of the car and was all cosmetic damage. Was repaired by a USAA certified collision specialist.
-Hit a deer on a dark highway. Damage was minimal, and could still drive car. Was repaired by a USAA certified collision specialist with all genuine Mazda parts. Have had no issues and has passed all inspections.

Car has two brand new tires and has been inspected, with no issues noted. Alignment, etc. is all to spec.

Shipping and payment:

-If your vehicle is near you, just make arrangements with myself to pick it up. If it's further away, you can either fly or drive to the car's location, or you can hire a shipping service to get it delivered to your door.

All shipping charges are the buyer’s responsibility. Seller will not be responsible in any way for claims arising from shipping damage. Shipping companies have insurance policies that protect buyers against damage.

Payment can be made via Cash, PayPal (deposit only) or a Cashier's Check from a nationally recognized bank- Bank of America, USAA, Fifth Third, TD Bank, Wells Fargo, etc. Once check has cleared, you can pick up the vehicle or have it shipped.

All Buyers will be required to pay all the Taxes and fees in order for vehicle to be titled and registered.

4 automakers agree to $553M settlement of Takata airbag claims

Thu, May 18 2017

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Four automakers agreed to a $553 million settlement to address class-action economic loss claims covering owners of nearly 16 million vehicles with potentially defective Takata airbag inflators, according to court documents filed on Thursday. Toyota's share of the settlement costs is $278.5 million, followed by BMW at $131 million, Mazda at $76 million and Subaru at $68 million. According to a press release from Plaintiffs' Committee for Takata Airbag Product Liability Litigation, the funds for the settlement are aimed at getting more cars with faulty airbags fixed. At the time of writing, Toyota had the greatest recall completion percentage of 31.89 percent followed by Subaru with 31.37 percent. Mazda has completed repairs on 18.16 percent of affected cars, and BMW brings up the rear with 16.48 percent completion. Some settlement funds will go to an outreach campaign to increase awareness, while other funds will be used to reimburse people for any costs accrued to get their cars fixed. These costs can include rental cars, child care, lost wages, or any other reasonable costs associated with bringing in a vehicle for repairs. Furthermore, a customer support program will be funded with settlement money to handle any additional repairs or adjustments that could become necessary in the 75,000 miles following the airbag replacement. Lawsuits against Honda, Ford and Nissan have not been settled, lawyers said. Takata inflators, which can explode with excessive force and unleash metal shrapnel inside cars and trucks, are blamed for at least 16 deaths and more than 180 injuries worldwide. The safety defect has prompted recalls worldwide of about 100 million inflators by more than a dozen major automakers. 2014 North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year finalists announced [w/poll]

Tue, 10 Dec 2013

The 2014 North American International Auto Show is right around the corner, which means it's high time we found out which cars and trucks would be finalists for the prestigious North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year awards.
The finalists - three in cars and three in three trucks/utilities - are dominated by American brands, with two-thirds of the finalists hailing from either General Motors or Chrysler (don't worry Ford, there's always next year), while outliers from Mazda and Acura can be found in each contest. Here now is the list of finalists for the big prizes:

Junkyard Gem: 1990 Mazda 929 S

Wed, Aug 24 2016

In the late 1980s, Toyota, Nissan, and Honda were cleaning up in the American market with the Cressida, Maxima, and Legend, respectively. Mazda wanted some of those dollars, so the HC-series Mazda Luce was modified for the US market and sold here as the 929. It had rear-wheel drive, a powerful V6 engine, and lots of luxury features, but not many were sold. Here's a rare '90 that I spotted in a San Francisco Bay Area self-service yard. In 1990, the sporty 929S version got 190 horsepower from its DOHC 3.0-liter V6. Unfortunately for Mazda, American buyers associated the marque with sensible econoboxes and screaming rotary engines, not luxury machinery, at the time. For the 1990 model year, American-market cars were required to have either a driver's-side airbag or automatic seat belts. The 929 had the automatic belts, the less said about the better. The Luce-based 929 became the Sentia-based 929 for the 1992 model year. Meanwhile, the new luxury brands from Honda, Nissan, and Toyota were kicking the crap out of 929 sales; Mazda had planned to launch the Amati brand in the United States, but didn't have the resources to follow through. The last 929s were sold in the United States for the 1995 model year. Related Video: Featured Gallery Junked 1990 Mazda 929 S View 16 Photos Auto News Mazda
