Up for sale is our 2004 Mazda RX-8 Grand Touring, Red exterior color with 6-speed manual transmission.  This RX-8 has only 4,4000 miles and clean title.

We purchased this car from a local dealer mainly to commute to my job in Dec 2012.   Then within 2 weeks since we purchased this car, my older son was diagnosed with leukemia and he has to go through a 3.5year-long chemotherapy. Obviously this is a financial challenge for us and we had to decide to sell this RX-8. We moved to a new apartment so that I can bike to my job. Now we are ready to sell this RX-8. This is truly the only reason we are selling this car so soon.

Runs great, very fast, fantastic, clean, fun car. Because this is our very first rotary engine (although we had lots of Mazdas before), we purchased a service contract with this car.  This is a transferable premium coverage ($2000 value) through VehicleOne.   We just had a checkups on this car and a water pump has been replaced today (which is of course covered by the contract).  This contract expires on 12/22/2015 or when the mile reaches 7,9500miles, whichever comes first.   Rear def oil, transmission oil. engine oil, coolant, and cabin air filter have been changed within last 2 weeks.

What the VehicleOne service contract covers?  Please see the last 2 pictures.  The premium coverage covers everything listed on these 2 pages except the last 2 parts; Wear and Tear and Luxury Electronics Package.   I think this auction is a great bargain considering the condition of the car, even the Buy-it-now price....

The exterior is beautiful, with a small dent on the hood but otherwise we think this looks great for the age.   Tires look brand-new.

The interior also looks great. With some minor scratches but nothing major.  The ash tray rid seems having a broken spring so doesn't open by itself but you need to open with your fingers.

This car is going to be sold "as is" condition.  Although we have had a check-ups last week, we are not auto experts so please check the pictures carefully and please ask any questions you have before you place a bid.

Auction winner has to arrange pick-up/shipping.    Immediate deposit of $500 USD is required.

Thank you for watching and good luck!

PS.  Sorry for the cancelation of the auction I made a couple of hours ago.  There was a loss of communication with a person who told me to buy immediately.  That's the reason I had to cancel the auction.

Mazda reports strong Skyactiv sales, plans to boost output 25%

Tue, 27 Aug 2013

Mazda is set to expand production of its Skyactiv engines after critical and commercial acclaim for the fuel-sipping powerplants. The Japanese manufacturer has a number of plans in the works to bump up production, with the first being a 25-percent increase in output from its Hiroshima, Japan engine facility.
Besides adding a new line, Mazda will modify the line that built MZR engines, a family of mills that includes the 2.3-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder found in the Mazdaspeed3 and the 2.0-liter found in the MX-5 Miata. The bump in production is just part of Mazda's goal of selling 1.7 million vehicles globally by 2016, with 80 percent of those vehicles expected to wear a Skyactiv badge.
Mazda also builds Skyactiv engines at a joint-venture facility with Ford, in Changan, China, while a Mexican facility will go online by March of 2014. Skyactiv engines currently power the Mazda3, Mazda6 and CX-5.

Autoblog Minute: VW finds CO2 'irregularities', Takata dropped by automakers, SEMA recap

Fri, Nov 6 2015

Volkswagen's diesel emissions scandal gets a new wrinkle, US regulators hit Takata Corporation with a substantial fine, and we head to Las Vegas for a look at tuner paradise at the 2015 SEMA show. Autoblog senior editor Greg Migliore reports on this edition of Autoblog Minute Weekly Recap. Show full video transcript text [00:00:00] Volkswagen's diesel emissions scandal gets a new wrinkle. US regulators issue a significant fine to Takata Corporation. And we take a peek inside tuner paradise at the 2015 SEMA show. I'm senior editor Greg Migliore and this is your Autoblog Minute Weekly Recap. The VW diesel emissions scandal, first brought to light in September, gets a new wrinkle, as an internal investigation by the German automaker revealed [00:00:30] irregularities in CO2 emissions that could affect approximately 800,000 vehicles. VW estimates the issue could pose a 2-billion euro economic risk. VW claims that most of the vehicles affected have diesel engines, but industry analysts say a 1.4-liter gas engine is also affected. VW says that fuel consumption figures were set too low during the CO2 certification process. During all of this, sales of some diesel-powered Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche models [00:01:00] have been halted. Takata Corporation is back in the news in connection with its deadly airbag scandal. Federal regulators fined Takata $70 million. If the parts supplier does not comply, the fine could balloon to $200 million. Takata was also dropped this week by its biggest customer, Honda. And now, Toyota and Mazda will be following Honda's lead in dropping Takata. We're also hearing that Mitsubishi and Subaru are considering a switch in air-bag inflator suppliers. SEMA 2015 [00:01:30] came and went. We saw offerings from Mopar, like the AWD Challenger concept. Honda unveiled a Ridgeline that it will race at the Baja 1000, which gives us a hint at what future production model could look like. The celebrity presence was also felt in Vegas as it always is. Kid Rock brought a Duramax Diesel Chevy Silverado, and Acura restored and presented Ludacris with his now famous 1993 Acura Legend. Those are the highlights from the week that was. Be sure to come back on Saturday for my full recap, [00:02:00] where I'll have some added insight into Hyundai's foray into the luxury sector. For Autoblog, I'm Greg Migliore. Autoblog Minute is a short-form video news series reporting on all things automotive.

Mazda Hazumi Concept shows up ahead of Geneva

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

Last week, Mazda officially teased its Geneva-bound Hazumi concept, showing little more than an aggressive headlamp design. But now, thanks to the magic of the Internet, another rendering of the Hazumi has appeared on the web, and, well, it's totes adorbs.
In Mazda's original release from last week, we were told that the name "Hazumi" means "spring up" or "bound" in Japanese, and is "particularly well-suited to a small car that appears to be bursting with energy." And now that we're getting a nearly full glimpse of the thing, we absolutely have to agree. The company's Kodo design language offers aggressive style in a cute little shape, and the usual raft of concept car-spec treatments (no mirrors, huge wheels, etc.) make it look even more comical and delightful.
Indeed, the Hazumi is understood to preview the next Mazda2 subcompact, and if this concept car points the way forward for Mazda's tiniest hatch, consider us totally geeked. Mazda is also set to debut its new 1.5-liter Skyactiv-D diesel engine at the Geneva Motor Show next week, and while the company hasn't confirmed if that powerplant will make its way into the next Mazda2, it sure makes sense, at least overseas. Stay tuned.
