Up for sale is Turbocharged Mazda RX-8 with many more upgrades.  All work on the vehicle was performed by Synaptic3 Engineering out of Candia, NH and the turbocharger kit was purchased from Turbo-Kits dot com as well as the additional fuel upgrade, Greddy exhaust upgrade and the ball bearing upgrade.  This same kit is still listed for sale so you can research it if you like.
Synaptic engineered the car from the ground up and made additional modifications to ensure this car has a long lifetime.  All wiring was done meticulously with lead solder and wrapped, the manifold and turbo piping was cut and tig-welded for a better fit, everything has been wrapped for heat insulation and the car went through hours of tuning and driving before it was released.  I have over $10,000 in labor invested and around $15,000 in parts that I can think of.  No expense was spared when it came to putting this car together.

The interior was originally cloth, but when I purchased the car I had a custom black and tan interior installed through a company the dealership recommended.  The custom leather, driver and passenger heated seats and 3-step paint process came to around $1800.00

Extras:  I'm including the OEM car cover ($250) and the cobb access port

I purchased the car as the second owner from Wellesley Mazda in Wellesley MA, outside of Boston in 2008 with around 13,000 miles.  The turbo kit and other modifications were all installed when the car had around 35,000 miles, so they're still relatively wear-and-tear free.

Care: The vehicle has reasonably low miles for a 2006 and I use it primarily on the highway to get to work and back.  This car has never been on a track nor has it been raced.  I spent most of my time during the past few years working out of the country and never got to drive it much unfortunately.  I've always changed the oil myself at 3000-3500 miles using 5w-20 as recommended with a high performance oil filter.  During the winter and heavy pollen season the car was kept under the OEM car cover that I purchased for it ($250), that I will include with the car.  I've kept the car clean and waxed it by hand about once every 3 weeks during the summer so the paint is in great condition.  Usually, it would be off the road until March when the weather is nicer and the roads are free of sand and salt.  I've always let it come up to temperature before calling for boost to save on the bearings and never dumped the clutch or abused it in any way.

Issues:  There are no mechanical issues with the car whatsoever.  I had it checked out by a mechanic before putting it up last winter and verified that everything was sound.  The 'radiator low coolant level' light will come on sometimes while driving, because it is getting a false signal.  The T-4 turbo is cooled using water, so when it circulates throughout the system the car signals a low coolant level in the tank because some coolant is being stolen for the turbo.  I was told this is normal for water cooled turbos of this kind.  As for cosmetics, there is a small dent in the hood and on the roof as well.  You should be able to see them in the last pictures and I tried to make them noticeable, but they don't stand out at all.
The title is clear, but I have been hit while stopped at a red light and had to have the taillights, trunk lid and both bumpers replaced because they were dented. The front bumper was a dented and scraped because I was pushed into the car in front of me, but nothing behind it was damaged. All of the parts used were brand new from the factory and were not taken from a junkyard.  They were installed and painted by a local bodyshop.  All of the damage was strictly cosmetic and nothing under the hood was damaged.  I have pictures of the accident and can provide them upon request.  All of the pictures taken for this listing were after the accident and repairs.

If there are any questions about the car, please feel free to message me and I will provide my cell number.  Shipping is the sole responsibility of the buyer.  There is no warranty with the car, expressed, written or implied. I have the title in-hand.

Mazda Koeru concept forecasts next CX-9 in sleek form

Wed, Sep 16 2015

Mazda rolled in to the Frankfurt Motor Show this year with the Koeru concept you see here. The showpiece is the latest embodiment of the Japanese brand's Kodo design language, applied with dramatic effect to a large crossover shape. Could this preview the next CX-9? The Koeru takes its name from the Japanese verb for "going beyond," and the reason is plain to see: though created by a mass-market brand, the concept could easily belong to an upscale marque like Infiniti (which offers a range of crossovers), Jaguar (which just revealed its first), or Maserati (which is preparing to get in on the action as well). It strikes us as aggressive as it is elegant, with taut lines and sporty details from the sharp lights to the muscular wheel arches. Few technical details as to what lies underneath it all were made available. And these show cars often lack working underpinnings to speak of anyway. But Mazda says that, beyond the styling, it optimized the aerodynamics over the upper body as well as underneath it to reduce turbulence and "enhance vehicle stability when driving at speed." It's also said to encompass the company's latest Skyactiv, i-Activesense, and Mazda Connect technologies. Which is all well and fine, but we're looking forward to seeing what innovations the company might incorporate if and when the Koeru (hopefully) transitions from concept to reality. In the meantime you can scope it out in the live and stock image galleries above and below. MAZDA KOERU The all-new crossover concept proposed by Mazda Mazda Motor Corporation is unveiling the all-new crossover concept Mazda KOERU for the world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show this year. The Mazda KOERU demonstrates Mazda's unique and daring interpretation of a crossover vehicle, proposed for the fast-growing crossover market. Featuring the full suite of Mazda's new-generation SKYACTIV technologies and designed under the KODO—Soul of Motion design language, the concept offers sporty yet delightfully refined styling and driving performance. The name "KOERU", which literally means "exceed" or "go beyond" in Japanese, comes from Mazda's aspiration to deliver value that goes well beyond the existing category norms and standards. As the latest incarnation of Mazda's new-generation products, the Mazda KOERU crossover concept offers styling that exudes power, vitality and a new level of polished refinement.

2015 Mazda2 revealed ahead of Paris debut [w/videos]

Thu, 17 Jul 2014

Small cars may be big business, but the world's automakers don't seem to be in any particular rush to keep them fresh. The new Smart Fortwo unveiled yesterday replaces a model that's already been around for seven years, and based on a structure dating back to the late '90s. The new Opel Corsa revealed just last week replaces a model that had been around for eight years. And the Mazda2 has been on the market in its current form for seven years now, but not for much longer because Mazda has finally revealed its successor.
Set to be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show this October, the new Mazda2 follows the stylistic lead of the Hazumi concept remarkably close, from the sharply creased front end right down to the wheel design - bringing the supermini hatchback in line with the KODO design language that characterizes its bigger siblings: the Mazda3, Mazda6 and CX-5.
Although details released thus far are rather limited, and power will vary from one market to another, engine options center around a 1.5-liter four in both gasoline and diesel versions, joining the manual and automatic transmissions and the chassis itself under Mazda's Skyactiv technology umbrella. We wouldn't expect the diesel version to make it across the Pacific (or across the border from the plant that will build it alongside a new Toyota hatch in Mexico), but rumors have surfaced of a potential rotary hybrid. The new 2 will also include the company's MZD connectivity suite and i-Activsense safety technology.

Why we can't have better headlights here in the U.S.

Tue, Mar 13 2018

It wouldn't be a European auto show if we weren't teased with at least one mainstream vehicle we can't have here. At the Geneva Motor Show last week, the small but vocal contingent of shooting-brake buffs lamented that the Mazda6 wagon won't be coming to our shores, although they can take comfort in the fact that the vehicle won't get the torquey 250-horsepower 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine we'll get here. Mercedes-Benz also announced a new headlight technology in Geneva that likely won't be available here anytime soon. It's just the latest in a long line of innovative and potentially lifesaving front-lighting solutions that the federal government doesn't allow in this country due to outdated standards — and a current lack of leadership at the U.S. Department of Transportation. Mercedes-Benz's new Digital Light system that debuted in Geneva uses a computer chip to activate more than a million micro-reflectors to better illuminate the road ahead. The Digital Light headlamps works with the vehicle's cameras, sensors and navigation mapping to adjust lighting for the given location and situation and to detect other road users. The Digital Light technology also serves as an extended head-up display of sorts by projecting symbols on the pavement ahead to alert drivers to, say, slippery conditions or pedestrians in the road. And it can even project lines on the road in a construction zone or through tight curves to show the driver the correct path. Digital Light will be available on Mercedes-Maybach vehicles later this year, although like any technology it's bound to trickle down to less expensive vehicles. That is, if we ever get it here in the U.S. Audi, a leader in automotive lighting, has repeatedly run into snags trying to bring state-of-the-art car headlights to the U.S. The German luxury automaker's recently introduced matrix laser headlight system, which performs many of the same trick as Mercedes-Benz's Digital Light, also isn't legal on U.S. roads. And five years after the introduction of its matrix-beam LED lighting, which illuminates more of the road without blinding oncoming motorists with brights by simultaneously operating high and low beams, Audi still can't bring that technology to the U.S. either.
