2006 Mazda Rx-8 Grand Touring, Manual 6-speed, No Reserve on 2040-cars
Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States
If you don't know too much about cars with rotary engines, I would be happy to help out with answers (or rx8club is a great resource and has excellent guides that I used back when I was looking for an RX-8).
This is a super clean example of a dependable stock series 1 with ZERO issues! As far as options, the car has Brown/Black two tone leather, power sunroof w/shade, power/heated seat, professionally installed aux jack for your iPhone/Droid/etc, keyless entry with the 'credit card' key that fits in your wallet, and all the appearance package goodies. This car is in immaculate condition and would easily be in the "excellent" condition category on KBB. (Blue Book value $9700!) The engine is original and was last compression tested in 2010 at a dealership and passed with flying colors, and it is running perfectly today. Mazda had some issues/recalls with the RX-8 in 04 and a couple in 05, but they figured it all out by the 06 model year (This is why you'll find a bunch of 04's for sale on craigslist). It was inspected two weeks ago by a reputable mechanic and there were no issues at all. Since I got the car, the only work that needed to be done was the clutch slave cylinder was replaced (and the brake master cylinder along with it). Oil changed religiously every 2.5k miles, and I check the oil level every other time I drive to keep it between 3/4 and full. Tires have plenty of tread. The only issues are a small dent on the front bumper to the left of the Mazda emblem (pictured), and a tiny parking ding in the drivers side rear door (not pictured, didn't show up). Some rock chips on the bottom of the front bumper from highway driving. Wheels look great but have minor curb scuffing. Nothing noticeable from 5+ feet away. There are NO issues mechanically, everything works great! Previous owner a late-30s father of two. I have more pictures up on imgur, email me for a link. The car is in Boston right now, but I occasionally am making trips down to Philly (moving soon), so if you live somewhere along the northeast corridor and are flexible with timing I might be able to drop the car off to you! You are welcome to come see it in person and and any requests for specific additional photos will be responded to promptly! |

2014 Mazda3 configurator zoom-zooms to life
Thu, 29 Aug 2013The 2014 Mazda3 is probably going to be on a lot of shopping lists, thanks to its striking good looks, clean interior treatment, fuel economy and driving character. If it happens to be on your personal list of new cars to test, you'll be happy to see that the configurator for Mazda's newest product has officially gone online.
In terms of build-your-own web items, configuring a 3 isn't much of a departure from the rest of the Mazda range. Most of the work comes from choosing one of the three trim levels - Sport, Touring and Grand Touring - and selecting either the 155-horsepower, 2.0-liter, Skyactiv four-cylinder or its larger sibling, the 184-horsepower, 2.5-liter, Skyactiv four. From there, a simple range of color and interior finishes are available, before a slim list of packages, options and accessories. Really, Mazda's made it easy to get through this build process.
Click on over to the configurator and take a look at the options, colors and prices for Mazda's newest five-door hatchback.
Autoblog editors choose their favorite racecars of all time
Thu, Feb 26 2015If you like cars, there is a good chance that you like racecars. There's something about the science and the art of going faster, of competition, of achievement, that accelerates the hearts of enthusiasts. It doesn't matter the series, the team or the manufacturer – there's something about racing that stirs emotions and lifts spirits. It's that way with many of you, and it's that way with our editors. With that in mind, we offer a list of our favorite racecars of all time. Of course, we'd like to hear some of yours in the comment section below. 1970 Porsche 917 Compared to some of the obscure choices by my colleagues, I feel like the Porsche 917 is almost so obvious a pick as to not be worth mentioning. Still, when coming up with my answer, my mind invariably went back to this classic racer – specifically in its blue-and-orange Gulf livery – while watching Le Mans on DVD and later Blu Ray with my dad. Long, low and curvaceous, few vehicles have ever looked sexier lapping a track than the 917. More than just a pretty face, this beauty had speed, too, thanks to several tunes of flat-12 engines over the course of its racing life. In the early '70s, Porsche was a dominant force throughout sports-car competition, and the 917 (shown above at the 1970 24 Hours of Daytona) was the tip of that spear, including back-to-back victories in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Largely without dialogue or really much of a traditional plot, Le Mans is like a tone poem of racing goodness. While the 917's importance to motorsports history is undoubtedly fascinating, it's still this cinematic depiction of the Porsche racer that draws me in most, especially with the volume cranked. – Chris Bruce Associate Editor 1964 Mini Cooper S How could everyone not be selecting the 1964 Mini Cooper S piloted by Paddy Hopkirk and Henry Liddon? That car, 33 EJB, took the first of British Motor Corporation's four Monte Carlo Rally wins (it should have been five, but French judges got the British Minis [and Fords] disqualified on a technicality regarding headlights... which its own car, the winning DS, was also in violation of). The tiny red car and its white roof beat out Ford Falcons, Mercedes-Benz 300SEs and scores of Volvos, Volkswagens and Saabs. This, along with the several years of dominance that followed, cemented the idea that not only could the tiny, two-tone Mini be a real performance vehicle, but that family-friendly city cars in general could be fun.

The list that youÂ’ll find below consists of every car we rated in December month that earned an EditorsÂ’ Pick. 2023 Genesis G90 2023 Genesis G90 View 55 Photos Quick take: The Genesis G90 is now a full-size sedan without any major compromises versus its competition. It rides beautifully, features a tech-forward but still usable interior and even has a powerful and refined powertrain. Score: 8.5 What it competes with: Lexus LS 500, BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Audi A8 Pros: Gorgeous design, efficient and powerful powertrain, super-luxurious interior, great value Cons: Doesn't handle as well as competitors From the editors: Road Test Editor Zac Palmer — "The Genesis G90 is all-new for 2023, and what a stupendous luxury sedan it is. The mild-hybrid twin-turbo V6 powertrain is smooth and powerful for effortless acceleration. Its air suspension and electronically controlled dampers waft you over poor pavement with nary a cabin disturbance. Every last luxury you might want for is present from auto-opening doors, massaging seats and rear wheel steering. It's all there for a price that is shockingly low versus the leading German luxury sedans, making it all the more impressive."
