1987 Mazda RX7 with the 13B Rotary engine. Only 76,8xx Miles. The car was owned by an older man(early 60's)before me. He owned it since about 12,000 miles. The car was driven by him on weekends and short vacation trips to the Poconos in PA.

The car is clean inside and out. The exterior is clean, smooth, and shiny. The glass is so clean that it looks new. Between this and the door jams you can tell that this car lived a sheltered life. No rust holes. The chassis is clean. All aluminum suspension arms. Exhaust is stainless steel. The engine bay is very very clean.

The interior shows very little signs of use. The drivers seat has no wear marks or cracks. The passenger seat has no wear on it. Door panels are clean. The dashboard has good color and no cracks. All of the carpet and headliner is clean with no defects.

The engine starts easily and runs well. The exhaust does not smoke. The engine runs quiet and smooth. The idle is a little up and down which is a trait with the rotary engine and it flattens out as the engine warms up. The 5th and 6th port actuators work just as the should opening to provide extra power at 3,500 RPM. This car has a buzzer that goes off at 8,000 RPM because it does not vibrate like a piston engine. The power is very linear and smooth. Acceleration does not take much. Cruising speed does not require more than 1/4 throttle. Throttle response is much quicker than a piston engine. The transmission shifts just like you would want it to. The brakes are all new in all four corners. New rotors, pads, calipers, and hardware. Ceramic pads, Centric rotors, and Wagner Calipers. The calipers have been painted with three layers of black ceramic paint before installation.

The car handles very well. Suspension and steering is very tight and makes no noise over bumps.

I have all of the maintenance records for this car since new. I also have the window sticker. This car was over $28,000 new in 1987. Not Cheap. The title is in my name and must be transferred into the new owners name upon pickup. The title is clean.

Some things that I forgot the mention. The car has two small dents on the hood that you can see at the right angle on a sunny day. This car has had the tires replaced due to old age and never tread wear. They are at the point where this should be done again even though there is plenty of tread left. Tire for this car are very cheap. I thought the new owner might want to change the wheels and tires anyway. This car is not new and do not expect it to be perfect. It is how ever an extremely clean older car. It gets a lot of looks when ever it is seen. It is ready for car shows as it sits. I have seen many of these cars and to find one in this condition that has never been driven hard or ripped apart and modified is very rare. This is that car.

Mazda rumored to bring rotary-powered RX-9 concept to Tokyo

Fri, Oct 16 2015

Stop us if you've heard this one before: Mazda will bring a rotary-powered sports car to the next big auto show. Okay, so we stopped for a second, but the show must go on. Following an official teaser image (shown above) late last month, Motoring.com.au has what it claims are renderings of the curvy, two-door coupe – called the RX-9 – that Mazda will bring to the Tokyo Motor Show later this month. The images show a far softer styling than Mazda's current crop of Kodo-inspired vehicles, while the overall look screams of a modern-day Cosmo Sport, the Japanese brand's first rotary-powered vehicle. And though that connection alone might be enough to justify whisperings of a successor to the RX-7 and RX-8, Motoring claims there will be an even more overt sign of this concept's power source. "Look to the Cosmo Sport," an inside source told the Aussie website, signaling that the Mazda stand would feature the vintage two-door. "The Cosmo has no earthly reason for being there unless..." The rotary rumor, if it comes true, won't exactly be what we're use to. While Motoring brings up the previously reported 16X – a 1.6-liter two-rotor – it builds on our 2013 report. According to the Aussies, the new engine could feature a two-stage electric turbocharger, be paired with a hybrid powertrain, offer up to 450 horsepower, and we're guessing, be hilariously complicated. Joking aside, it sounds like Mazda's goals here are admirable. A rotary-equipped sports car that could counter the 1.3-liter RX-8 engine's appetite for fuel and improve on its mediocre low and mid-range torque would be interesting indeed. As for those renderings, Motoring has front and rear three-quarter images. Comparing the rear with our original teaser leaves the look open to interpretation, but after seriously upping the exposure on the teaser (thanks Photoshop), the taillights and overall profile shape look to be a spot-on match. In front, the long hood shares some Kodo elements, like the headlights and grille, but its undeniable coupe shape – a long hood and very short deck – are far more organic and, dare we say, calm, than Mazda's other vehicles. You can take a closer look at the renderings over at Motoring's website. Do that, and then head back and let us know what you think of these RX-9 rumors. Is Mazda finally going to be bringing a rotary back to market?

We go Unplugged to celebrate Mazda Miata Month

Tue, 29 Jul 2014

Chances are good that you, loyal Autoblog reader, have long since chosen to follow us on Twitter and 'like' us on Facebook. (If you haven't, feel free to take a second and do so right now.) Anyway, if you're one of our social media posse, you might have already heard that we're smack dab in the middle of Miata Month. We've gotten Mazda to loan us a couple of MX-5 Miatas, allowing us to say a protracted, tear-filled goodbye to the current generation (NC) of the beloved roadster, just before it exits stage right and ushers in the next generation.
You'll see a few more Miata Month items here on Autoblog after we've said our final farewell, but we absolutely wanted to make sure we created some great video evidence of our month, as well. Right down below, then, in its unfiltered-audio splendor, is the Autoblog Unplugged version of the 2015 Mazda MX-5 Miata PRHT. Your author had a pretty great time wringing out the roadster for the creation of our short vid, and we really hope you dig listening along.

NHTSA releases updated Takata airbag recalled cars list, but it still has errors

Wed, 22 Oct 2014

Unfortunately, the government's list still contains errors.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued an updated list of vehicle models that it's urging owners to repair under the mushrooming Takata airbag inflator recall. The latest version adds vehicles from new automakers like Subaru and Ford that are missing from the original announcement, and it also removes erroneous entries from General Motors, leaving only the 2005 Saab 9-2X (a reskinned Subaru WRX), and the 2003-2005 Pontiac Vibe, a joint project with Toyota.
