3 RX7's for sale in a lot auction. A daily driver, a race ready car and a car for parts or a project. Two 1983 chassis and the parts car is a 9/84 chassis.

Silver 1983 daily driver was purchased from the original owner 2 years ago and has undergone a lot of work and time. New base clear professional paint job. New shocks at all 4 corners. New brakes and braided lines at all 4 corners. New front end parts and alignment. 4 new tires with about 5k on them. New exhaust from header to muffler. Professional built carburetor out of Florida . It runs great and drives like a dream. Changed the differential and transmission fluid. Changed the clutch and motor a couple of months ago.  Current motor was built by Racing Beat and has about 20k on it. Strong and tight, no puffs of smoke. I installed an electric fan and aluminum alternator pulley. The starter is a couple years old. New window edge rubber and door gaskets. Alpine stereo with Fosgate amp on 8" sub mounted in storage behind passenger seat. Never wrecked and no body cancer. Has always been under a carport so the dash isn't cracked. Car has been very reliable and fun to drive. Bought it to help me learn the race car handling characteristics . Also there is a custom seat belt rear pillar support that allows for a harness. MSD blaster coils. This car is ready to go any where right now. No trailer required.

1983 race car was purchased from a local Doctor who had stopped using it. I purchased it in 2010 and have been successfully running it since and sorting it out to where it is  a reliable gas and go race car. Installed a new aluminum radiator and electric fan and all three aluminum underdrive pulleys. I have won my last six events in my class. New Flowmaster muffler. Rebuilt brakes and braided lines . Two aluminim racing seats , one large and one small. Current log book and safety inspection. New Toyo Proxes tires with only one weekend on them. New paint job is only 2 years old. Great looking and performing car with spares .MSD blaster coils. This car is ready to race right now. Nothing is needed.

1984 red parts car/ project car. Body in decent shape- some minor rusting, no body damage, no engine, has transmission , drive shaft and rear end. The interior  has been robbed as well as the engine wiring harness is not complete. I have no papers for this car either. It has a lot of parts in it from suspension to interior to exterior trim. Rolls fine.

Now for the spares list.............
3 sets of 13 inch wheels and tires
Three 5 speed transmissions
Three 12A engines
2 doors
1 rear hatch glass
Enough parts for 2 Nikki carbs
huge spare brake and pad selection
complete ignition  setup
complete spare LSD disk brake factory rear end.

Will Mazda show the next Miata's chassis in NY?

Fri, 21 Mar 2014

Mazda is being very sneaky about what it is bringing to the New York Auto Show, and it might have something to do with the next-generation MX-5 Miata. Australian website Motoring.com.au spoke to a company insider who told it that at least the chassis for the roadster would debut in Manhattan. The rumor goes that the show will act as the kickoff for the PR campaign for the new model.
We contacted Mazda USA PR Director Jeremy Barnes to find out more, and he would neither confirm nor deny the rumor. "Just because you read it on the Internet doesn't mean you should repeat it," he said to Autoblog. That's not exactly an outright, No.
Supporting evidence that the new drop top might be appearing in the Big Apple includes Mazda's plan to celebrate the model's 25th anniversary at the show. It's bringing 15 cars from the first three generations to display. "It will be absolutely worth attending the New York Auto Show if you're a Miata fan," Barnes said. That at least hints that there might be something he's not telling us. Otherwise it's a lot of sizzle without much steak.

Mazda6 sees gains in ugly month for midsize sedans

Thu, Jul 5 2018

Though June overall wasn't a terrible month for automaker sales, at least for the most part, it was pretty hideous for midsize family sedans. Basically every single model in the segment saw declining numbers including the Subaru Legacy, Nissan Altima, Ford Fusion, Volkswagen Passat, and even perennial volume sellers such as the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. All of these cars are down in year-to-date numbers, too. But there's one bright spot, and it comes from Mazda. Mazda reports that the Mazda6 actually had a really good month. It sold 3,204 examples of the family sedan in June 2018, compared with 2,360 in June of last year. That's a nearly 36 percent increase month-over-month. It was also enough to bump Mazda6 sales for 2018 ahead of 2017's numbers through June. Those numbers also put the Mazda6 ahead of the Volkswagen Passat for June, and just 20 vehicles shy of the Subaru Legacy. Admittedly, these are still small numbers all around. In the same month, Honda sold over 26,000 Accords, and Toyota sold about 27,000 Camrys. Sales of Mazda's other vehicles also indicate that crossovers really are the new hotness. The CX-5 sold a whopping (relatively) 12,710 units. The CX-3 and CX-9 sold about 2,300 examples each, which is below both Mazda3 and Mazda6, but both crossovers gained more this month and over the year than both cars. Mazda3 is actually down this month and overall. All of this also seems to give some credence to Ford's decision to move away from traditional sedans. Still, for fans of more conventional cars, it's a bit heartening to see that more niche players can find some success with the design. We're also pleased to see such an excellent sedan recognized with actual buyers. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Junkyard Gem: 1991 Ford Festiva with 317K miles

Sat, Jul 18 2020

Most cars that make it to astoundingly high mileage figures tend to fall into one of two categories: engineering masterpieces that ended up being hard to kill (and got a lifetime of at least the most important maintenance items) or machines that inspired unquestioning love from owners willing to keep opening their wallets for decades to keep them on the road. Today's Junkyard Gem falls into neither of those groups; it's a penny-pinching Ford Festiva, one of the cheapest cars available in its time … and yet it cracked the magical 300,000-mile mark before getting discarded. So, a total of 317,207.3 miles over its nearly 30 years on the road. We just saw a discarded 1989 Honda Civic with a mere 308,895 miles on the clock, and this Festiva comes close to topping this 1993 Honda Civic DX. The highest-mileage junkyard car I've ever found (keep in mind that most cars before the middle 1980s had 5-digit odometers, and most cars this century have unreadable-in-the-boneyard electronic odometers) is this 1987 Mercedes-Benz 190E with an amazing 601,173 miles. This Mercedes-Benz 300D came close, with 535,971 miles. Detroit went to six-digit odometers late in the game, but this 1986 Olds Calais reached 363,033 miles, and this Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor reached the 412,013-mile figure thanks to a second career as a taxi. A Festiva surpassing the 300k mark, though, is not something I ever expected to see. These cars were sold as cheap, no-frills transportation, period. The MSRP on a base-level Festiva started at $6,620 in 1991, or about $12,610 in 2020 bucks. Not many cars could squeeze under that price at that time; the Subaru Justy could be purchased for $5,995, the Hyundai Excel 3-door hatch cost $6,275, and the Yugo GV (yes, it could still be obtained new as late as 1991) had a hilarious $4,435 price tag. Even the lowly Geo Metro, Pontiac LeMans, and Toyota Tercel EZ cost more than this Festiva. Still, this car came with snazzy pinstripes, now faded to near-invisibility by the Colorado sun. You can see the cover plate in the spot where the air-conditioning button would have gone, had the original buyer of this car been willing to squander precious dollars on such frivolity. Five-speed manual transmission, naturally. You could get an automatic in the Festiva, but anyone willing to spend that kind of money on extras would have been able to afford a much nicer Tercel EZ.
