Immaculate 1993 RX7. Fresh Pettit racing rebuild less than 2000 miles ago. Never tracked or raced, this car was purpose built to be reliable, comfortable and clean. I have owned 4 RX7's in the last 22 years and the FD is by far the sexiest car around. I have assembled this car to run for years without issues and to be used for occasional date nights with my favorite lady! The engine is a mild street port engine with cooling passage modifications for improved cooling, as well as some other Pettit racing proprietary workings. Turbos are stock but the center housing rotating assemblies are brand new, only the manifold is original. Pettit racing 3" down and midpipes to an Apexi N1 dual exhaust system finalize the exhaust duties. Apexi Power FC handles the engine controls, 850cc primary injectors and 1300cc secondaries feed the thirsty powerplant and an HKS twinpower ignition amp ensures clean and thorough combustion. Pettit racing comp aluminum radiator, and Cool Charge 3 Intercooler handles cooling duty, and the radiator ensures that the engine stays cool even with the AC on full blast in the heat of summer. Oh yes, have to have Cold AC! The exterior of the car is mostly stock except a subtle ShineAutoProject lower rear RE style diffuser and ShineAutoProject Feed style carbon fiber side skirts adorn the body. Avante Garde 19X9.5 and 19X8.5" wheels punctuate the fender openings and stopping duties are handled by Pettit Racing's Trak Pro BBK up front with 12.75" diameter rotors and huge 4 piston Outlaw calipers, these are the best brakes made as a bolt on upgrade for the FD3S! Stainless brake lines are also installed. Additionally, Pettit Trak Pro fully adjustable coilovers are installed to maintain the proper attitude and ride quality. Inside the car, the black interior is very clean, the leather is in mint condition with only a small wear spot on the driver seat from ingress and egress. No tears or rips at all! I have installed JDM rear seats in the car for my little guys to ride with me, but will include the bins in the sale for you. The steering wheel, shift boot and ebrake handle have been restitched in grey leather with teal stitching for a bit of contrast to the black interior as well as professionally painted center console and gauge cluster. This car needs nothing. When I purchased it, it had a spoiler on the rear decklid, however, I removed it and have placed caps in place. The rear lights are scratch and crack free as well as leak free! HID's have been installed in the pop up headlights and a 99 spec lip has been added to the lower front end. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I can be reached via cell phone or text at (816)516-8610. Ask for Art. NO REASONABLE offer will be refused. Make me an offer, you don't know if you don't ask. Thanks.

How long will the 'golden age' of performance last?
Sat, Mar 26 2016High-powered sports and luxury cars were everywhere at the New York Auto Show, prompting the obvious question for enthusiasts: How long will this golden age of performance last? Industry leaders have some time before regulations elevate the Corporate Average Fuel Economy level in 2025. Even then, they expect cars rippling with power to survive in some form. "Is it the end of an era," I don't think so," said Ola Kallenius, Daimler AG board member for Mercedes-Benz cars marketing and sales. "That performance element of individual mobility I don't think will ever go away." Kallenius, who oversaw the company's AMG division from 2010-2013, expects it to continue to grow. Last year, AMG sold a record 68,875 units around the world, an increase of 44.6 percent over 2014, with strong growth in the US, China, and Germany. Still, there's always the potential for gas to spike, and pending fuel economy regulations are looming. That could lead AMG to add electrification to its products, Kallenius said, pointing to the electric SLS as a test case. Chevy is also thinking ahead, said Al Oppenheiser, chief engineer of the Camaro. He wouldn't bite when asked about electrification for the Camaro (he did say "never say never"), but admitted in 2025 "it's going to be pretty tough to sell V8s." For now, things are rosy for muscle cars, and Chevy confidently showcased the 640-hp Camaro ZL1 in coupe and convertible form in New York. "I think that this is truly the golden age of performance," Oppenheiser said. It's hard to disagree. News & Analysis News: The 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF was a show-stopper in New York. Analysis: There was a palpable energy when this RF — for Retractable Fastback — was revealed the night before the show at a trendy off-site venue near the Hudson River. Even as a parade of SUVs and flashy luxury cars rolled out the rest of the week, the Miata remained a hot topic. The Retractable Fastback is really a clever targa top, with part of the roof stowing behind the seats, adding about 100 pounds compared to the standard convertible. It makes the car more practical and arguably more attractive. The RF continues Mazda's tradition of selling the Miata with a hardtop variant. The first and second generations offered a detachable one, and a power retractable hardtop (a $1,700 option) was available on third-gen models. Judging by its reception in New York, the RF could prove to be even more popular than its predecessors.
Mazda6 Coupe coming along with more Mazdaspeed models?
Thu, 30 Oct 2014The predecessor to the Mazda6, the Mazda 626, was sold in a multitude of body styles across the globe. It could, of course, be had as a sedan, but a two-door coupe, known stateside as the MX-6, was also available on the same platform. Now, a new report from Motor Trend claims that a two-door version of the modern Mazda6 could be on the way.
This would be remarkable for a number of reasons, as automakers have been abandoning this type of non-luxury coupe for decades. A class that counted entries from Toyota, Nissan, Chevrolet, Dodge and Chrysler is now occupied solely by Honda with its Accord Coupe.
Ignoring that, though, MT claims we'll see a two-door Mazda6 in the second half of 2016. When that new variant arrives, it will be with an even more dramatic version of the sedan's Kodo design language. Mazda could rely even more heavily on styling inspiration of the Shinari Concept, which already informs the design of the current 6 sedan, when the two-door model arrives.
Britain's BBR already promising 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata with 200+ horsepower
Thu, Jan 8 2015The 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata is one of Autoblog's most anticipated cars to drive this year, and with good reason. Thanks to svelte, angular styling, the promise of less weight, the possibility of more power and all at a fairly affordable price, it represents pure, automotive enjoyment. Mazda is still not saying exactly how much power the new Miata's 2.0-liter Skyactiv four-cylinder engine will make, but that isn't keeping British tuner BBR from already working out how to squeeze even more ponies from the mill – potentially as much as 200 horsepower with natural aspiration. The company bought a Mazda3 for access to its 2.0-liter Skyactiv and went to work on it. "Our objective with the all-new MX-5 is to achieve the same 200 bhp output that we can easily enjoy with simple bolt-on components on the current 2.0-litre NC model, before building on further power upgrades using forced induction," said Neil McKay of BBR in the company's release. The 3's version of the engine is rated at 155 hp and 150 pound-feet of torque but is expected to be tuned for additional grunt for the droptop. Still, it gives BBR something to experiment with before the real thing is available. The tuner also got the opportunity to take a look at a pre-production 2016 Miata and is already developing "subtle bodywork alterations" for the upcoming convertible. You can get a taste for the company's plans with the rendering above. It sports tinted lights, a front lip spoiler, lower side sills and a tiny rear spoiler. Scroll down to read more about BBR's plans in the official announcement. BBR UNVEILS STUNNING 200 BHP ALL-NEW MAZDA MX-5 CONCEPT Despite deliveries not scheduled to begin until July, legendary Mazda performance tuner BBR is making great progress with both its visual concept and powertrain development for the all-new MX-5. "A program of detailed performance enhancements has already commenced at our Brackley base," says BBR's Neil Mckay, "thanks to our investment in a 2.0-litre Skyactiv powered Mazda 3. Our objective with the all-new MX-5 is to achieve the same 200 bhp output that we can easily enjoy with simple bolt-on components on the current 2.0-litre NC model, before building on further power upgrades using forced induction." Having viewed a pre-production version of the car BBR is also working hard on visual enhancements to add more presence to the svelte lines of the all-new MX-5.
