I am selling my project 1993 FD Rx7 I had originally bought this car to put a usdm 2jzgte which I have almost everything to do but my recent marriage put a stop to that. In this listing I am selling a complete roller including the stock drive shaft. The wheels in the picture are not going in this auction I have 2 sets of stocks that the winning bidder can choose from a set of chrome ones and a set of black ones. When I got this cart it had a tan interior in it and the switches for the mirrors where all faded and worn so I replaced all the switches door handles and 90% of the interior with black I also put new door handles on the out side and I had the car changed from red to blu which included under the hood and the door jam's this cost me 5g the interior cost me 3900$ which over the time I have had it I have accumulated tones of extra interior parts and exterior parts.  When it comes to the paint with moving the car to multiple shops back and forth there is one scratch about an inch and a half long on the front passenger fender and one small ding in each of the doors other that that the paint and body are flawless. If some one is interested I have a built 2jzgte with a r154 manuel trans the full tech 2 motor sports mounting kit for the 2jz with the upgraded light weight drive shaft for sale which I would be willing to sell everything for 14,000 and access to a shop that can do it for you if you are interested if not I will sell the roller without the wheels in the pic with stock wheels for 7k and when it comes to interior you can have what it has in it or everything I don't care. So the interior as you can see from the pics the console and the gauges are not installed that is because I have three sets of them I have a blue one that is painted the same color as the car, I have a carbon fiber one that is real laid carbon fiber, and I have a stock black set so you will have three to choose from. I also have 2 sets of door wiring harnesses. So most people inquire about the rims they are a staggered set of Mirrors 18x8.5 in the front and 18x9.5 in the rear with brand new Nitto NT05 tires that have never seen the street other than being pushed around the shop. If someone buys it all for 14k I will throw the wheels and tires in the deal and I can tell you I have just over 4k in them but as it is I have them sold for 3 locally. This is a rebuilt title car you can run a carfax the car had the engine stollen out of it and that is it no damage and no wrecks and I can tell you the pictures do this car no justice the car is beautiful call me if you can and want to come see it I love showing this car and how beautiful it is. I hope you enjoy the listing and if you have any questions my name is Chris my number is 305-395-1634 Thanks again for looking.

Mazda3 Skyactiv-Hybrid and CNG Concept shown in Japan

Thu, 21 Nov 2013

Mazda has received a tremendous amount of public and industry praise in the last few years, following up the successful introduction of its Skyactiv technology (powertrain and otherwise), with strong products like CX-5, Mazda6 and most recently, the Mazda3. At the Tokyo Motor Show, Mazda has taken yet another step forward with Skyactiv and the 3, showing the compact (called "Axela" in Japan) with an all-new compressed natural gas engine in the Skyactiv-CNG Concept.
The end result of the Skyactiv-Hybrid is fuel consumption estimated at something like 74 miles per gallon.
Mazda thinks that CNG-powered vehicles are due for an uptick in demand, and the company believes this new powertrain will add valuable breadth to the Mazda3 range. The CNG Concept is actually a duel-fuel vehicle, capable of running on either natural gas or gasoline. In fact, we're told that the high compression ratio (14:1) inherent in Skyactiv-technology gasoline engines makes conversion to CNG particularly simple.

Bighearted enthusiast rescues stranger's Mazda RX-7 from floods

Wed, Jun 10 2020

With Tropical Storm Cristobal charting a path for the Gulf Coast, a Biloxi, Mississippi, local named Khuong Nguyen wanted to get his FD-series Mazda RX-7 out of the storm — the coupe had some bad seals that would let in rain. He parked the orange and black coupe in the bottom story of a parking garage at the city's Golden Nugget Casino, which kept the rain from getting in. But Cristobal came on stronger than expected, creating a new threat of water from below when the parking garage began to flood. Austin Owens, a Gulfport resident about 10 miles from Biloxi, saw photos of the RX-7 with water up to its rockers on a local Cars and Coffee page. As he would later tell Jalopnik, the RX-7 being one of Owens' dream cars, he decided he needed to rescue it. Just to make sure we're all on the same page, a young man braved a tropical storm in his own vehicle to save a stranger's RX-7 in another city. Owens dragooned a friend and hopped in a Ford Bronco, dodging closed roads and fording three or four feet of water on open roads. They drove to Home Depot to pick up cinder blocks, then headed to the Golden Nugget parking garage. As Owens and his friend arrived, they met Nguyen and a couple of his friends pulling Nguyen's second car, a Ferrari 360, out of the garage on a trailer. The RX-7 had already been set on wood blocks, thin bricks, and some orange wheel chocks, but the stilt job wasn't high enough in front; the water in parts of the garage was knee deep. Owens jacked up the RX-7 to get the cinder blocks under the front wheels; the rear end was fine, due to the slope of the garage floor. Success. As one of Nguyen's friends told Jalopnik, Owens' actions "did give us adequate time to combat the rising water." The success came at a cost, though, Owens reporting, "We actually killed the [BroncoÂ’s] transmission on the way out. We actually had to drive in second gear all the way home" due to floodwater seeping into the transmission. He has no regrets, explaining his derring-do with, “ItÂ’s a rare car ... I would hope somebody would do the same for me if I was in the situation with a car of that stature. I didnÂ’t have it in my heart to leave it there." With the story blowing up on Facebook, he told the legion of enthusiasts sending their respects, "Appreciate the love, but IÂ’d expect the same for one of my cars," followed by, "Alright, whoÂ’s down for some Forza?" Save for the original seal issue, the RX-7 came out of the storm with no issues.

Junkyard Gem: 1985 Mazda 626 Sedan

Sun, Nov 29 2020

Mazda began selling cars in the United States all the way back in the late 1960s, with the Cosmo Sport 110S, and many interesting(ly strange) Wankel-powered machines followed, but they eventually gave way to much more conventional piston-powered cars such as the the original 626 that the ex-cork-making company from Hiroshima offered here starting in 1979. That car didn't sell so well, though it looked good and boasted build quality as good as the better-known Japanese brands. Starting with the 1983 model year, a new 626 with front-wheel-drive appeared here, with production continuing through 1987. That car did a better job at luring buyers away from Nissan and Toyota showrooms, but examples are nearly nonexistent today. Here's one of those cars, found in a Colorado yard overseen by Pikes Peak. Just as the GLC became the 323, which became the Mazda3 (after first dabbling with the Protege name), the 626 eventually became the Mazda6 (with coupes badged as MX-6s or Ford Probes for a while in the late 1980s through middle 1990s). The last year for the 626 name here was 2002. This one made it well past the 200,000-mile mark, which was serious stuff for a mid-1980s car (yes, I've found some Toyotas of the same era that doubled that figure and a couple of Mercedes-Benzes that tripled it). The 2.0-liter straight-four in the 1985 626 made 84 horsepower. Not great, but good enough for a 2,500-pound car in that period. Once BMW started adding the "i" to the designation of fuel-injected cars during the late 1970s, everybody else jumped on board the moment they ditched the carburetor. The 626 and subsequent Mazda6 held onto the manual transmission all the way until the 2018 model year, though finding a 6 from the last decade with three pedals in North America is an unusual happenstance. This car even has the optional air conditioning, something that was still considered a rich-people-only luxury by a large swathe of the American car-buying public in 1985.
