I am selling my project 1993 FD Rx7 I had originally bought this car to put a usdm 2jzgte which I have almost everything to do but my recent marriage put a stop to that. In this listing I am selling a complete roller including the stock drive shaft. The wheels in the picture are not going in this auction I have 2 sets of stocks that the winning bidder can choose from a set of chrome ones and a set of black ones. When I got this cart it had a tan interior in it and the switches for the mirrors where all faded and worn so I replaced all the switches door handles and 90% of the interior with black I also put new door handles on the out side and I had the car changed from red to blu which included under the hood and the door jam's this cost me 5g the interior cost me 3900$ which over the time I have had it I have accumulated tones of extra interior parts and exterior parts.  When it comes to the paint with moving the car to multiple shops back and forth there is one scratch about an inch and a half long on the front passenger fender and one small ding in each of the doors other that that the paint and body are flawless. If some one is interested I have a built 2jzgte with a r154 manuel trans the full tech 2 motor sports mounting kit for the 2jz with the upgraded light weight drive shaft for sale which I would be willing to sell everything for 14,000 and access to a shop that can do it for you if you are interested if not I will sell the roller without the wheels in the pic with stock wheels for 7k and when it comes to interior you can have what it has in it or everything I don't care. So the interior as you can see from the pics the console and the gauges are not installed that is because I have three sets of them I have a blue one that is painted the same color as the car, I have a carbon fiber one that is real laid carbon fiber, and I have a stock black set so you will have three to choose from. I also have 2 sets of door wiring harnesses. So most people inquire about the rims they are a staggered set of Mirrors 18x8.5 in the front and 18x9.5 in the rear with brand new Nitto NT05 tires that have never seen the street other than being pushed around the shop. If someone buys it all for 14k I will throw the wheels and tires in the deal and I can tell you I have just over 4k in them but as it is I have them sold for 3 locally. This is a rebuilt title car you can run a carfax the car had the engine stollen out of it and that is it no damage and no wrecks and I can tell you the pictures do this car no justice the car is beautiful call me if you can and want to come see it I love showing this car and how beautiful it is. I hope you enjoy the listing and if you have any questions my name is Chris my number is 305-395-1634 Thanks again for looking.

Long Road Racing will build you the Miata that Mazda won't

Tue, Jun 6 2017

One of the frustrating things about new cars today is that many features are exclusive to this trim level, or that package. Even the enthusiast-friendly Miata has many restrictions how you can configure one, which can make choosing one a bit tricky. You can't have the cheapest one or the leather-clad one with a limited slip differential, for example. And adding aftermarket parts on your own runs the risk of voiding your warranty. Long Road Racing, however, has a possible solution for creating the ideal, warranty-covered Miata. You may not be familiar with Long Road Racing, but you probably heard about one of its most-publicized products, the MX-5 Cup car. The car was developed by Mazda with the intention of creating a global spec series, and Mazda reports that about 140 of the cars have been sold so far. Every single one of those cars went to Long Road Racing to be specced out for racing before reaching their customers. So the company is familiar with the car, and has applied its expertise to its "Ultimate MX-5" program. The way the program works is, once you've purchased a 2016 or 2017 Miata, you can send it to the company to have it customized to your needs. The company has an extensive list of parts to choose from, all of which have been selected by the company to work well together. But if you need something outside of its offerings, or just need help choosing from the list, you can get in touch with the company to discuss how best to achieve your goals. Long Road Racing will also customize any trim level of Miata, and can even create a Miata Mazda didn't offer. For instance, you could have a Grand Touring with the leather interior, but also with the limited-slip differential and Brembo brakes from the Club model. All of these parts are fully warrantied by Long Road Racing for the length of the OEM warranty, and they don't void the factory warranty. We had the opportunity to try out a car customized by Long Road Racing at the M1 Concourse track in Pontiac, Mich. The car was there to sample alongside some of the MX-5 Cup cars as well as several of Mazda's stock road cars to drive on course. The road-going Long car started as a Grand Touring model, and it retains its heated leather seats and automatic climate control.

Mazda previews straight-six, affirms upcoming crossover with Toyota hybrid system

Fri, Nov 13 2020

Buried in Mazda's generally bleak second-quarter earnings report were a few juicy nuggets of news. Though the company had an operating loss of $502 million and sales are down 21 percent in part due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hiroshima-based firm has big plans for the future. Enthusiasts and environmentalists alike should take note. Firstly, Mazda showed an image of its upcoming straight-six engine. Essentially, it's the SkyActiv four that powers all of Mazda's current lineup, but with two additional cylinders. Unsurprisingly, the company says that it can be engineered to fit any of the current SkyActiv guises — the standard octane-variable gasoline powered G, the diesel D, and the sparkless-ignition X. The big six will pair with a new eight-speed automatic and can be combined with either a plug-in or 48-volt mild hybrid system, promising big power and efficiency. Reassuringly, Mazda says it's committed to offering this six in a rear-wheel-drive platform, which will underpin the 6 sedan's successor, as well as a midsize SUV. Both the platform and powertrain are said to be compatible with all-wheel-drive layouts as well. Which brings us to the second bit of news. Mazda also pictured a four-cylinder engine with hybrid technology. The financial report confirmed that Mazda will employ  Toyota's wildly successful hybrid system in an upcoming SUV. It's not that Mazda is taking advantage of Toyota's free access to all its hybrid patents until 2030. Mazda and Toyota have a capital tie-up and are nearing completion on a $2.3 billion joint-venture factory in Alabama with a 300,000-vehicle annual capacity. According to the Huntsville Business Journal, the firms have hired 750 employees so far, with room for 3,250 more. In return, Mazda will launch a European compact based on Toyota's Yaris Hybrid. The move is necessary for Mazda, which has lagged behind in electrification and in meeting the fleet emissions requirements in the European market. In return, by 2022, Mazda may even share the inline-six engine with Toyota and Lexus. While the hybrid crossover and compliance with EU rules will no doubt help the environment, we not-so-secretly hope that these strategies will keep Mazda profitable enough to bring that straight-six, rear-drive sports sedan to market.

Mazda mulling furniture, designer goods in bid to command higher prices

Wed, 01 Oct 2014

Brands like Porsche and Ferrari make a mint every year by selling branded lifestyle goods like shoes, hats and even wilder items. Bugatti takes things to the extremes with things like its $84,000 belt buckle. These products not only make their respective companies some extra money, but they reaffirm their high-end design aspirations to wealthy buyers. However, the next firm possibly dipping its toe into this upscale pool is a bit more mass-market - Mazda.
That's right. The Japanese automaker best known among enthusiasts for its segment-defining Miata and rotary engines is considering its own line of luxury goods in the coming years called Mazda Design. The project is the brainchild of styling boss Ikuo Maeda, and according to Automotive News, he has backing from company CEO Masamichi Kogai. Although the green light isn't quite on yet, Maeda is already brainstorming. "Not only furniture, but I'd like to build a Mazda Design brand. That's my dream," he said to Automotive News.
The possible project is just one aspect of Mazda's move to become a near-premium brand. According to Automotive News, it wants to see higher transaction prices partially by offering more stylish design than its rivals. Launching a line of luxury goods is meant to communicate this new focus to customers.
